Chapter 1 - [Mansion]

He opened his eyes inside a dark room, in front of him lay an old man with blue hair, his clothing was covered in crimson red, his blood.

'What?' Was the only thought to pop up inside the young man's head at the moment. He tried to remember what happened before he opened his eyes, but no matter how hard he tried, he just couldn't.

The old man's eyes opened slightly, it was obvious that he was at death's door, still, he tried his best to say something. The young man had to get closer to hear it.

"Save them all..."

His eyes lost sign of all life right after those words were uttered, and just like that, the old man left for the other world, he died.

The young man stared dumbfounded at his surroundings, not sure of what just happened.

...

'So, I need to calm down first... C'mon, you can do this. I don't remember much of my life before now, the memories are still coming back bit by bit... I'm guessing I'll need a few days or so before I remember everything.'

'Fine, what I do remember is that I come from a planet called Earth... And in there, this is impossible. You can't teleport someone out of nowhere... I remember reading stories about Fantasy and whatnot... Did I get transported to such a land of Fiction?'

The young man shook his head lightly and took a deep breath, 'Calm down, don't freak out... Hah! Is it because I can't remember much from before that I'm not screaming wildly in fright? I guess there are benefits to losing your memory... Or maybe I'm just built different, who knows?'

'Now, the old man's dead... Who is this old man to begin with?' An old disheveled man was lying in front of the young man at the moment.

He wore clothing that resembled a traveling researcher, that was the best way the young man could describe it for now.

His clothing was torn apart in some places, and blood covered it. The red color came from the left shoulder, there was a large cut going from his left shoulder to where his heart should be located.

'Someone killed him... Did he escape? In a world where he could summon me from Earth... He couldn't heal his injury? Why is that? Or maybe he was just sick of life, I mean I do understand tha... No, be serious... Wait, what's my name?'

'Dang it! I can't even remember that much, can I, huh?'

The young man sighed a little, he still didn't get up from his place. He was currently sitting on the ground, in front of him was a large wall made out of wood, the old man's body was there.

The young man decided against looking around, for now, he wanted to first get everything he needed to think about done with.

'I'll have to bury him later... Why do I not feel much? Does teleportation dull your emotions or something? There is a body lying in front of me, I've forgotten my past life, I'm in what's supposed to be another world... I'll have to bury an old man, and yet... I'm sitting here thinking about it like it's the most normal day I've ever had, that's weird, isn't it?'

'I guess everyone reacts to stuff differently, right? I don't know. Either way, what do I do right now? Guess I'll start by looking around the room first, maybe the old man left something for me.'

The young man stood up from his position and looked around the room, there was a lamp stuck to the ceiling illuminating the small room. He took one look at it and then turned to inspect the place.

'A research room or sorts? An office? Something of the sort... Aha! There it is, a letter... Can I read the language? It's not Arabic nor English, neither is it French and yet, I can still read it... I guess Teleportation affects the mind too... I already figured that out earlier though, since I can't remember stuff. I talk too much, don't I?'

The young man took a step forward and grasped the sheet of paper in his right hand, he read through it and nodded to himself.

'Alright, the basement is my next destination!' He declared inside his thoughts.

The letter read as follows:

"Hello, dear Traveler.

I welcome you to our world, I am sure that you are surprised by the suddenness of all of this, but something came up, and I had to activate my ability earlier than expected.

As a result, your memories will be lost to time, but don't worry, there is a way for you to retrieve them. I don't know your name, my ability chooses someone of its own accord, but either way, I ask of thee the following.

Save our world.

People from the world referred to as Earth are all extraordinary in their own way, you'll learn more about this later. I would have preferred to stay alive and guide you through the way, but alas, something happened.

Still, in the event that I died and you were left all alone, I have already made sure to leave everything you need down in the basement. Take the key and go there, all the information you require you'll find down there.

I am sorry for summoning you here without your permission, but it is the only way to save our world. The dark forces are awakening one by one, and the world as is won't be able to survive on its own.

We need your help, fellow Travelers.

I am sorry, and thank you!

Raiden Translot."

That was the end of the letter. The young man smiled lightly, "I don't know why, but I don't blame you, old man... In a way, this is exciting for me... Hehe! Let's see what's down there... Oh, right... I still have to bury his body."

"I can't let it rot here for much longer... I'll take a quick glance at the mansion you've left and return to make amends." The young man put down the letter on the desk and then grabbed the key that was lying beside it.

He nodded to himself once more and left the room.

...

The mansion was just like he expected, a noble's mansion, or even better. Resembling the Middle Ages in terms of structure, and large, very big in fact.

The Research office was located on the second floor. The young man took to the stairs and descended to the first, he then looked around for a little before he found a small door nearby.

He used the key and opened it, walking inside, it was dark. He stared around and found a small button to the side.

'No way, right? If this world is stuck in the Middle Ages then... How?' Clicking on the button, the lamp turned on and a light shone revealing stairs leading downside.

'Huh? They use crystals... The button is connected to a red crystal... Fire? I'm intrigued to learn more about this system, guess I'll have to go down to find out!'

The young man took in a deep breath and took the stairs again. He reached the basement in no time. It resembled a research office, only this one was big, very big indeed.

'There are more than a thousand books stored in here... This place... Haha! It's big!' The young man stared around for a while then sighed, 'Don't tell me he expects me to read all of this... Right?'

The young man took a step forward and reached a large desk made out of wood, it was carved in such a manner that the young man could only refer to as refined.

On top of it was a book covered in blue, the young man took it and read the title, "Mysteries of the World".

'Sounds interesting, but for another time... I need to understand where this place is, and what's happening around me... Hmm, notebooks, gotta look for some notebooks.'

The young man put down the blue book and started searching the place. After a few minutes, he found tons of notebooks, all titled differently.

'He really put in a lot of work, huh? He even made sure to cover all topics I'd ask about in advance... Teleportation Ability, power system, world, expenses, and much more... Dang! He was serious about bringing me here, wasn't he?'

'This has got to be the work of years... Freaking years of research and hard work... All left for little old me, haha!'

The young man chose one of the notebooks and opened it. This one was titled "Power System". Reading a little into it, the young man nodded his head several times.

"Math... Tsk, math controls this world... Unless you become a fighter that is. Two choices, fighter or Arts User. Well, there are special abilities, but those are rare and can not be obtained easily."

"The other two though... One requires the smarts, and the other the physique. I got both, fortunately... But I'm also lazy in both. I don't wanna train daily with a sword or weapon, and I don't want to become a Mathematician to use powerful arts."

At this, the young man smiled lightly, "Fortunately, the old man left me these... Hehehe!" The young man turned his head to stare at a few things lying beside the desk.

One was a large black Odachi, another was a mask with two horns sticking out of the side, the same color as the sword, and finally, there were three carved rocks.

One resembled a chair, another a mansion, and the final one a mountain.

'Sure, the three rocks still require some math, but not much honestly, it's easy enough to figure out. Now, the real issue would have been the sword and mask... Would have been I say, because somehow... Hehehe!'

The young man grinned to himself and took hold of the long black Odachi. He swung it a few times and nodded to himself, 'Yup, just like I thought... It's not much of a challenge.'

'Easy enough to use. I'm gonna guess that I was a kendo student, or something sword related... From what the old man described in this book, the sword is an ancient artifact, and the mask boosts someone's power level to an unbelievable degree.'

'Bad sides include needing to know how to fight, or it would be a classic story of strength and no technique... Sure, extra power is good, but with no technique to guide and use it, it loses most of the advantage.'

'For the second bad effect... It can only be relied on for a short moment, otherwise, it makes you go berserk and lose control... Or something of the sort. Gotta look for the notebook dedicated to these things, I'm sure there is one around... Yup, there it is.'

'This old man is amazing, like really amazing! I mean... Damn! I'm not that big of a fan of reading, but this... This is simply a dream come true.'

The young man cleared his throat and calmed down a little, he then stared at the three carved rocks. 'Bombs of the sort... One shoots a beam of blue lighting capable of destroying a chair, the second a mansion like this one... And the third... Haha!'

'Capable of decimating an entire mountain... This old man's dangerous huh? And yet... With these treasures he left, and countless others... With his profound knowledge of Arts... He still died to something or someone... I need to find out more about this and soon.'
