Chapter 10: Huge!!!

— Next Day —

Alaric was sitting at the rooftop of a 6 storey building, watching various groups of people hunting and slaying beasts. These groups doesn't just belong to one Human Settlement as there are a few more Human Settlement scattered across the huge city. He knows because his eyes has seen more of the same, thin blue barriers, each a considerable long distance from another Human Settlement.

Human Settlements act as the fortress of humans, that thin blue barrier itself was incredibly tough. It was the only thing that protects them from the onslaught of beasts, without it humans of this world would have been long dead.

Alaric's mouth was greedily biting on a fried chicken, which he bought 5 pieces of fried chicken leg for 1UP. He had already ate two. He felt hungry after training all night long. By now, his mastery of the sword has increased even further, making Alaric even more confident in his swordmanship.

His hand to hand combat skills rose as well, he could now fight bare handed, as long as his enemy was also in a hand to hand combat with him.

"Delicious..." Alaric muttered happily, the taste of the chicken legs were heavenly. Not only was it cooked well, even the flour used on it was high quality too. The taste was addicting, but his attention were on something else.

His instinctive sense, had merged with the skill "Sense" that he bought from the shop, making it a passive skill. His estimates of its range was no more than a 100 meters. Within that range, he might not be able to see, but he can feel everything on it. The slight, gust of winds, the insects, and even humans walking around were not safe from his Sense at all.

At first, the passive skill overwhelmed him. Too much information was digested by his brain, resulting in an hour of headache. Then, something else took his attention.

Glancing down slightly to his left, two groups of humans, coming from two different Settlement met. Since they were in a Settlement War, would this groups cause trouble and start a fight?

Time seemed to slow down as scrutinizing eyes with another scrutinizing eyes. The two group walked past each other, looking suspiciously at the other. Even when the other group disappeared from their eyes, their guard did not drop down.

Alaric was surprised. When he heard war, he imagined this, people going at each others neck, ready to kill. Pools of blood dampening the streets, corpse littered the ground like garbage. Could it be a different kind of war? And how was the war carried out?

This question can only be answered if he can enter a Settlement, too bad he can't since he needs to sacrifice his freedom.

"Sacrifice" He muttered the name of the skill he had almost forgotten. He wanted to see if he can cast thr skill Sacrifice even when the corpses were on his Inventory.

? "What is your wish?"?

That same, old ancient voice reverberated in his ears. The familiar, red particles orbiting around him, creating an otherworldly view.

"I want to turn the corpse in my Inventory to AP". He requested, and the voice replied.

?"Wish granted."?

The voice spoke, the red particles disappeared and the system notification appeared in front of him.

[You have 86 corpse in your Inventory, converted to 1,187 AP

- Lvl 5 Coprse x30 = 150 AP

- Lvl 7 Corpse x 3 = 21 AP

- Lvl 8 Corpse x10 = 80 AP

- Lvl 10 Corpse x35 = 350 AP

- Lvl 11 Corpse x1 = 11 AP

- Lvl 15 Corpse x5 = 75 AP

- Lvl 25 Corpse x2 = 500 AP.]

Seeing the amount of AP he gained, Alaric was tempted to attemp the lvl 10 Avatar summoning but he stopped himself. But... 'It's a lvl 10 Summon! Surely it would be very powerful right?' He tried to reason against his reasoning, something he found weird.

"Avatar Summoning." He gritted his teeth. He was hoping, that his decision of using the lvl 10 Avatar summoned. The system interface showed up in front of him, directly at the Avatar Summoning panel.

The panel expanded, a colorful vortex started to spin in the middle of it. Unlike the first and second time where the color of the vortex was green, this time, it was a myriad of colors. In fact, saying that it contains all the colors of the world would be the best way to describe it.

[Avatar comes in different forms, either as a living entity or an inanimate object. Congratulations, you have summoned "God of Beasts, Björn!]

Alaric felt a sweat trickled down his back. God of Beasts, Björn? The name sounds ominous!

Suddenly, the sky went black. Alaric looked up in the sky and was shock at what he saw. A huge eye had appeared. It's iris was golden yellow, on the middle of it were black slit. The eye alone was huge, covering thousands of meters.

'This is just the eye!?' Alaric almost fainted in shock. How big is the God of Beasts actually?

"My liege, your servant has arrived. I'm Björn, the God of Beasts."

A very loud voice rang, causing strong gusts of wind to blow.

"Björn, where are you exactly?"

"Outside of this planet, my liege. I apologize, but the world is too small for me to fit. "

"I see. Can you shrink down to a smaller form?" Alaric asked, hoping that Björn could shrink itself.

"I'm afraid I cannot. But if you allow it, I can transform to a human."

"You have my permission." Suddenly, a bright golden light manifested in front of him. When the light dissipated, it revealed an incredibly tall, middle aged man.

He was about 210 cm tall, with long black hair flowing down to his foot, tied like ponytail. He was dressed like those cultivators he had read from novels.

"Björn, tell me exactly, what is an Avatar?"

This was something he had been wanting to know.
