The Karasuno team had just won the first set, but the noise from the Date Tech supporters during the break between sets was now louder than ever.
"Go! Go! Let's Go! Let's Go! Dateko!"
"Wow, they just lost a set and are still cheering frantically..." Yamaguchi said while looking at the Date Tech supporters.
"They'll definitely come back more motivated than ever," Daichi said.
"Hehehe," Ukai said with a slight smile while observing the Date Tech coach.
"What's up, Ukai-kun?" Takeda asked, noticing the mischievous grin on Ukai's face.
"Look at him... he's visibly disturbed and doesn't know what to do... his team was even defeated in the fundamentals they value most," Ukai said, still smiling.
"How gloomy... you're sounding just like Nekomata-sensei," Takeda remarked.
"Alright, everyone! Now that we're serving, we don't need to start with our best receiving formation or immediately put Nishinoya on the court... so let's start with Kageyama serving to try and break their formation, and have Tsukishima in the back.
"We're copying their strategy from the last set..." Kageyama thought.
"GO OUT AND WIN!" Ukai shouted.
"YES!" they all shouted in unison.
"It seems like the Karasuno team has the victory practically in their hands..." Mizoguchi, now on the court next to them, observed while watching Aoba Johsai's team warm up.
"Well, we should never underestimate a team as strong as Date Tech, but they'll have to come up with a very well-prepared strategy if they want to win the match," Irihata said, glancing at the Karasuno players.
The second set began with Kageyama's serve, and before serving, he observed the presence of Date Tech's libero on the court.
"A mirrored formation? Now they're using our strategy to stop the initial serve..." Kageyama thought before jumping and attacking the ball with all his strength.
"BAM!" Kageyama's serve went toward the libero, who managed to receive it and direct the pass to Moniwa.
"Nice receive," Moniwa said while performing the set that, after leaving his hand, seemed like a middle attack with Takanobu Aone, causing Hinata and Asahi to jump to block. They quickly realized the ball had passed Aone and was heading toward Futakuchi in position four.
"Great! This will be an easy point!" Futakuchi thought as he saw Karasuno's block jumping incorrectly. But as he was in the air about to hit the ball, he noticed Hinata landing on the ground and immediately jumping as fast as possible.
"SLAP!" The ball hit the side of Hinata's left hand, who couldn't quite make a full block against Futakuchi, who spiked the ball with his left hand, sending it out.
1-0 Date Tech
"Go! Go! Let's Go! Let's Go! Dateko!"
The Date Tech supporters erupted with Futakuchi's first point.
"We can't lose like this! Our senpais deserve better than this!" Futakuchi confidently said to Aone, who nodded in agreement.
After Date Tech's point, it was Sasaya's turn, who cleverly aimed at Tsukishima, a rookie central blocker, assuming he wouldn't have a strong reception.
"Got it," Tsukishima said calmly while receiving the ball toward Kageyama.
"Nice receive," Kageyama said, jumping and setting for Hinata, who prepared to jump. As he approached the ball, he noticed the triple block forming in front of him.
"AAAAAAA TAKE THAT!" he shouted, stretching his arm as if to spike with full force but actually just tapping the ball to fly over the block and drop on Date Tech's court, catching them by surprise.
"Wow! I thought you were going to smash through their block!" Tanaka said, patting Hinata's back.
"Well, they say deceive your friends to deceive your enemies," Hinata said, smiling.
Daichi served and was received by Date Tech's defense, who quickly passed to Moniwa. Moniwa attempted the same set, pretending to aim for Aone, but this time only Asahi jumped to block while Hinata and Tanaka tried to block Futakuchi. Futakuchi hit the tip of Tanaka's finger, sending the ball to the back of Karasuno's court, but Daichi kept it in play with a receive for Kageyama, who completed with a receive back to Daichi.
"Go, Captain!" Kageyama shouted as Daichi jumped and spiked toward Date Tech's court, but Sakunami dove to prevent the point.
"Damn!" Michimiya exclaimed from the stands with the rest of the women's team.
Moniwa attempted a set by hand to Aone, who jumped looking extremely determined.
"THWACK!" Aone hit the ball, aiming for the middle of Karasuno's court.
"I've got it!" Daichi shouted, diving and once again preventing Date Tech's point.
"Nice receive!" Kageyama yelled, moving to where the ball would fall and deciding to do a quick attack with Asahi at the net.
"Asahi-san," Kageyama said while setting as Asahi jumped and then hit the ball toward the opponent's court before the block could arrive.
"It's mine!" Obara positioned himself to receive the ball but ended up hitting it with his wrists, sending it flying.
"Woooaah!" the crowd became excited and celebrated the rally.
The game continued with Karasuno showing greater dominance. Hinata continued to bypass Date Tech's block, and when he combined with Tsukishima at the net, they managed to score some points. However, Date Tech hadn't given up, especially with Aone giving his best in blocking.
The game reached match point for Karasuno at 24-18, and Karasuno called a timeout.
"I think this should be the play!" Ukai said, finishing his explanation.
"Well, I think we all agree," Daichi responded.
The game resumed with Moniwa serving toward Karasuno's court.
"IT'S MINE!" Nishinoya shouted while receiving.
"Nice receive, Nishinoya-san," Kageyama said, having heard the play prepared by Ukai. He jumped and sent the ball directly to Hinata in a high, far-from-the-net ball, deliberately drawing Date Tech's triple block.
"This is where this wall will be torn down!" Hinata said as he jumped and, as planned, observed the triple block in front of him with a powerful arm swing.
"BOOM!" Hinata hit the ball with all his force, breaking through Date Tech's block. The ball then exploded on the ground with a great impact.
25-18 Karasuno.
After the game, Karasuno players could be seen celebrating.
"WE DID IT, WE ADVANCED!" Tanaka shouted.
"WE ARE AMAZING!" Nishinoya yelled.
"That was an amazing spike..." Kageyama said, approaching Hinata.
"Thanks... are you still surprised?" Hinata said, smiling and boasting.
"Now I regret complimenting you!" Kageyama complained.
"Hehe, let's join them and thank the supporters," Hinata said, smiling and pointing at Asahi, Daichi, and Sugawara, who were talking with the women's volleyball team.
"Why did you want the ball to go to Hinata in that last attack?" Takeda asked.
"I wanted the last attack to be Hinata in a complicated situation against a triple block, and for him to overcome it to symbolize breaking the barriers that were holding back this team. Glad it worked!" Ukai sighed, watching all Karasuno players thanking the supporters.
When the Karasuno players went to pick up their bags to leave the court, they noticed the Date Tech players having an emotional speech and also observed the Aoba Johsai game, with Oikawa waving at them as they passed by.
