Chapter 17 - Chapter 17

The Fog Dwellers became increasingly weakened with all their fog dissapearing. Their attacks were slower, and their black skin began wrinkling at a visible rate. Casting [Runic Sight] onto them, their weak state became apparent.

[Name: Fog Dweller (Weakened)

Class: Godless Beast

Rarity: Uncommon

Level: Level 13

Health: 100/300

Skills: Fog shroud (unavaliable), Dark Pounce

Stats:

Agility: 20

Speed: 19

Intelligence: 22].

While the beasts had grown weaker, Alex's weapon equipped a menacing black fog which coiled around the sword. The slaughter took less than a minute, with most of the creatures being previously injured by her attacks and considerably weakened, dying in a singular hit.

She had received around [Fog Dweller Skin] x12. The drop rate being almost 100%.

[Item: Fog Dweller Skin

Rarity: Uncommon

Description: With the loss of fog, their skin turns wrinkled and weak. With the right tailor, it's previous durability can be restored into a piece of armour].

All the creatures were around the same level and all their deaths contributed into a singular level for her. 'Seems like leveling has really slowed down after the Town of Beginnings.' She thought angrily.

Looking at her stats, she noticed something else that had changed compared to the Town of Beginnings. When she levelled up there, every thing went up by two points and she was given five extra ones. But here, she only has five skill points to place in everything. Aswell as the 50 health and mana she got from levelling up, also dissapeared.

The exp requirement for level 12 doubled and now she needed 4,000 exp to get to level 12. Placing her free stats into intelligence, strength and endurance to increase her wing's attack and defence. Sadly, it was one of those quests where you and to go to the quest giver in order to recieve your rewards as they were giving you items.

[Obsidian Drake has sent you a friend request].

Accepting Alex's friend request, she noticed on her friends screen that she had unread messages from Cherry, who's has changed her in-game name to Dreamy Lock. Without the fog from the beasts, the cave became lit by glowing moss on its walls. Following it to a large opening, they were greeted by a small glittering lake with plants growing around it.

These were the plants that the alchemy guild needed for their potions. However, there was something else there. A treasure chest and a group of eggs, most likely from the Fog Dwellers. These eggs were dark green in colour, with scales covering its surface.

That made more sense, since why would a tribe of beasts go underground where there is limited meat to hunt, it is because it is their mating season and they were nesting. Casting [Runic Sight] on it.

[Item: Fog Dweller Egg

Rarity: Uncommon

Description: An egg containing Fog Dwellers, hatching it will gain you a loyal pet.

Hatching requirements: Dark moist cave].

A pet egg? They could hatch them and turn it into a pet, she could decide too but they only had one avaliable pet and she'd prefer something stronger. Especially since Fog Dwellers strength relied on numbers to boost the fog they could emit.

Unlike her, Alex seemed intrigued with the eggs, especially a light green one. At first glance, she thought that it was just a younger egg but maybe it wasn't. Casting [Runic Sight] onto it, she saw how it was different.

[Item: Mutated Fog Dweller Egg

Rarity: Unique

Description: An egg which holds a Mutated Fog Dweller, it's changes remain unseen.

Hatching requirements: Influx of energy

Mutation: It will emit any influx of energy that it receives during its growth instead of fog].

Now that was intriguing. Not that it would be much use to most of the Player base since they could not release and influx of energy like magic without casting spells on it, which would kill it. However, Elya bet that the Swordsman next to her probably had a skill which he could use.

Walking past the eggs, she analysed the treasure chest infront of her.

[Name: Treasure Chest

Rarity: Unique

Description: A random spawning chest only accessible by players with any types of loot inside it].

Opening the treasure chest, she was quite happy about what she received inside. It was a skill book, for healers.

[Item: Holy Burst

Rarity: Unique

Description: A burst emitting from the caster to push back and damage any enemies and heal allies

Usable: Any support class].

It was useless to her. Especially since it was holy magic, even touching it made her feel uncomfortable. But it would sell for a lot especially since it's a unique skill, and so she pocketed it.

"What did you get?" Alex asked her.

"A support class skill book." She replied to him simply.

"Ah okay. You keep the money for that and I'll keep the Mutated egg?" He offered her, trying to make their gains equal.

"We'll divide the money from selling the normal ones then?" She asked him, not like it was usable to either of them.

"Yeah, sure." He responded to her question. Walking outside the cave, they began walking back to the tree city. Despite the fact, her wings had healed enough for her to fly she didn't want to leave him walking by himself. That and she had finally become more comfortable around him where every interaction didn't feel excruciatingly uncomfortable.

After about a twenty minute walk, where he detailed how school was after she left. All the childish drama that had happened, they saw the Misbegotten City ahead of them.
