Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: The Point of Contact

None of the Blackwell sons took Henry's words as a joke.

Although all seven of them were now exceedingly wealthy, had their own successful careers, and had more money than they could ever spend, no one was willing to allow Amara, an outsider, to claim the Blackwell family's entire fortune.

Henry's words had been a clear threat.

Suddenly, no one voiced any objections.

Elias remained silent, not uttering a word as he left the room.

Amara was exhausted after a day spent in the role of a Blackwell daughter.

So, she didn't refuse Diana's invitation to stay the night. She returned to her room and fell asleep.

Early the next morning, Diana and Henry left.

Amara sat alone in the grand dining room, where twelve servants meticulously served her breakfast.

One of the maids, Amara noted, seemed oddly familiar. Then it clicked—it was the woman she had seen with Sulivan in the room the previous day!

It appeared they had been involved for some time.

Thinking ahead to the future, Amara couldn't help but feel a headache coming on.

How was she supposed to manage her seven brothers, who had just appeared out of nowhere, while completing her mission?

And all of this, while hiding her true identity?

Before breakfast had even ended, Elias's assistant arrived.

"Good morning, Miss Hale. I'm Jaden, Elias Blackwell's head assistant. The president has asked me to pick you up at his residence."

Amara recognized this man immediately. He was the one who had slapped Harvey Langston yesterday.

"Hello, Jaden. Please just call me Amara. Could you inform Elias that I would like to visit Sulivan's estate first?"

She needed to take the initiative and make contact with her target for the mission!

Jaden seemed slightly surprised by Amara's request, but without hesitation, he turned to make a phone call to Elias.

A minute later, Jaden returned and said, "The president has approved your request. He will inform Mr. Sulivan of your arrival and has asked me to escort you directly to his estate."

Amara sighed in relief, but she also felt a strange sense of disappointment in her chest.

Did Elias truly not care where she went?

She recalled his expression when the event ended yesterday—he had seemed upset.

Was it because of Henry's threat?

Would he now harbor resentment toward her?

Amara found herself wanting to call Elias, so she asked Jaden for his number.

She tucked it away before following him as they set off.

After passing through a thick forest, a large, European-style mansion emerged before her eyes!

They passed through an imposing iron gate and entered the property, where Amara was greeted by a serene, almost paradise-like atmosphere.

However, she knew that countless eyes were undoubtedly watching her, the uninvited guest who had suddenly appeared.

After Jaden left, a maid guided Amara to a guest room on the third floor.

"Sir instructed that you stay here and not wander until his return."

With that, the maid coldly locked the door behind her.

Amara knew that Sulivan Blackwell would not welcome her so easily.

After all, he had been one of the most vocal opponents yesterday.

However, she understood him well enough.

He was a powerful figure in the criminal underworld, and such a person would never reveal their true identity to an outsider like her.

Moreover, she had interrupted his time, leaving him unsatisfied!

Tsk tsk…

By the afternoon, Amara had grown restless.

It was well past lunchtime, and she was thirsty and hungry. What if Sulivan didn't return? Would she simply sit here, waiting in vain?

She approached the window and looked down at the ground.

From the third floor, the drop was about ten meters.

But for Amara, this height was nothing. Her only concern was the numerous eyes that were likely fixed on her within the mansion.

After some careful searching, Amara eventually found her way to the kitchen.

Since it was well after lunchtime, the kitchen appeared to be empty.

Amara grabbed some food, planning to return to her room.

Just then, she heard a voice from outside:

"Sir is back! Let's prepare lunch!"
