As Verkoth seemingly screamed in pain, I stood there confused and surprised by the sight in front of me.
The invincible Varkoth was now looked like nothing but a bird with its wings ripped apart.
"Zai! Do it NOW!"
Elysa screamed from a distance. I don't know what she was talking about. What should I do now. I didn't notice it until now but, there was a strange tattoo on back of my hand. It was tattoo of a bat wrapped in chains. I instinctively understood what I was supposed to do. I pointed my hand at Verkoth with my palm wide open. Purple Light emerged as Verkoth screamed in agony and cursed me.
He suddenly transformed into a grotesque bat-like abomination. His wings flapped causing large amount of purple mist to scatter and decayed everything around me. My skin decayed and my eyes were burning but I still held onto my consciousness and continued the [Sealing].
As I kept hanging, Verkoth's resistance increased. He concentrated a large amount of purple mist at his mouth, like a dragon about to shoot a fireball. I knew I was in danger, I could due right now. But I didn't give up. I kept the sealing process continued Even when my flesh burnt.
I could feel it. The seal would be completed anytime soon. Just a bit more. A bit more. But I don't think it was possible. Fatigue took over me and my own concentration began to waver. I thought it was nearly done when suddenly the giant bat knocked me down and spell was cancelled. I was devastated. How could I make such mistake? Now, due to my failure everyone would die. I am utterly usel-
"You did it! Zai!"
A voice of a young man was heard behind me.
Suddenly someone grabbed my shoulder. As his hand touched my shoulder, I could feel my body healing and my stamina recovering. With a smile and a mischievous face he said-
"You have finally weakend him enough to take damage. Now, you just prepare the spell again as we help you."
Luke spoke as he moved in front of me.
"I guess you are not that helpless you runt."
Deeno also moved besides Luke and stood in front of me.
"You are really helpful Zai. I am glad to have you as my comrade."
Elysa spoke as she also reached near Luke and Deeno.
All three of them were now infront of me, protecting me while I was doing nothing but just simply being carle-
"Don't think anything useless Zai. Just because we have a duty to protect you doesn't mean we'll only do things to protect you. Right now, we are beyond pissed. This bat looking piece of shit thinks he can defeat three of the strongest individuals chosen by The Great King himself. Ofcourse we have to show him hell again."
Luke finished.
I could sense thier rage but I was still unsure of whether they can defeat him or no-
Wait. Maybe I am too negative about this whole situation.
Well, it doesn't matter now. We just have to work together and take down this giant bat. Luke noticed my determined expression and looked at the giant bat. It looked strong.
"On my signal, Zai will activate his [Seal] and we three would attack this giantass bat."
"No need to tell me you assbrain."
"Zai, be careful."
The giant bat again let out a horrific screech as it started gathering nearby purple mist again to charge it's attack. I knew how terrifying this attack was but before I could warn all three of them,Luke disappeared. I looked towards Elysa and than saw Deeno. They both had a calmed expression as Luke walked towards that giant bat.
"Elysa! Deeno! What are you doing? Luke is going alone! We have help him."
"It's okay Zai. Luke will be alright and he will win."
Elysa said in a very calm voice.
"What are you talking about? Even all three of you couldn't defeat him, then how could Luke alo-"
"Shut up you stupid runt. We weren't taking this giant bat seriously."
Deeno spoke annoyed.
"You may not know it but.. when that guy actually gets serious, only The Great King can stop him."
Deeno spoke with a serious expression on his face. I could not believe it. The great prideful Deeno actually praising someone?
I looked in front of me to find Luke standing in front of the giant bat. I don't know why but for some reason, his seemed to be emitting some kind of golden aura. He eyes shone brightly as it began-
Luke quickly leapt and like a meteor, crashed down right at the bat's head and smashed its face on the ground, causing a small earthquake. He again jumped and stood right in front of the bat. This time he made a serious expression. He raised one of his hand and pointed towards sky.
"You don't deserve to be in this peaceful land of Frozen Hell."
He said as a small ball of light began to form at his fingertip.
"May the festival of lights guide you to eternal solitude. [God's grace.."
He swiped his finger in the air and the small ball of light streched to make a line.
It was silence for a while. Than there was a light whirrr sound and i could see a small beam of light coming from the sky. It was no wider than a pencil and passed through that bat's skin.
Wait.
Maybe I was seeing things but the beam of light that was no wider than a pencil now became size of a baseball bat. No, it was getting wider and wider each second and before I knew it, the beam of light was wide enough to cover the bat's whole body. But it didn't seemed to be doing any damage? What was Luke doing?
Suddenly I realised it. The bat was now trapped in a barrier of light and couldn't escape.
I could feel it.
The despair of darkness emitted due to Verkoth's presence was now replaced by hope of Luke's light. The vegetation around us restored and sang the songs of Luke's brightfull life.
Even when the bat screeched while emitting it's dark purple mist, the moment it passed through barrier, it became the pure and holy mist that revitalized the world. Luke's powers were immense. He smirked while looking at Verkoth's petty struggle and completed-
"...Domain of life]"
[God's grace Domain of life].
I see, it was the name of the spell that Luke was using right now. It was fantastic. As the world bathed in Luke's light, he again smiled and said in a rather mocking voice
"It's still not over, you shitty bat..."
This time, he waved his hand in an unusual pattern and as he finished, uncountable number of blades made of light manifested around the bat-
"you haven't been punished with [Blades of smite] yet."
With just a flicks of his finger, the blades all pierced Verkoth's skin and impaled him like a kebab. His purple blood drew forth as he screamed in pain.
[Blades of smite],yet another one of Luke's spell.
As he was impaled by the blades, Verkoth could be seen laughing. He can regenerate this amount of damage easily and it could be seen that the blades didn't reach deep enough to cause any serious injury. But before I could warn Luke, he spoke-
"This bastard's really laughing huh? I think you forgot. It's a combo attack."
Verkoth's laughter faded as he was about to make a darkened expression, but before he could even make it, explosion started. Each blade of light that struck him, exploded. Each blade's explosive power was equivalent to that of a dynamite used to demolish buildings. The chain of explosions continued as more and more blade of light struck him.
When explosions ended, Verkoth could be seen again, this time in his original humanoid form. He knelt down bleeding. His face wore a look of defeat as he finally fell to the ground.
Luke, after cautiously observing him for a few seconds undid his spells and fell on his bum.
"That bastard was a tough one."
He sighed in relief and looked towards me with his usual mischievous face and said while smiling brightly.
"Zai, we won."
