"Father..?" Delilah tilted her head while peeking into her father's office.
"Oh yes Delilah?" Her father asked as he was writing a proposal on his desk quietly.
Of course..he had forgotten that today was his own daughter's birthday, 21st birthday at that. This happened quite a number of times.
"Today is.." Delilah entered the office quietly, hoping to not disturb her father.
"Today is your 22nd birthday. Happy birthday. I'll ask your aide, Avery to prepare a cake for you." He said, still focusing on his own work.
His Dark yellow eyes were still kept down even when Delilah was speaking to him.
"Ah..yes..thank you father." Delilah mumbled and left the room.
.
As soon as she stepped outside, her composure began to crumble. Tears started to spill all over her face, her shoulders shaking as the quiet sobs escaped.
"Delilah.." A man in his late 20s quickly responded to Delilahs breakdown. He was Leon Karvec, Delilah's own personal knight.
He hurriedly guided Delilah to her room, it was as if this all had been rehearsed beforehand.
Avery Evelyn, came rushing to Delilah as soon as she reached the front door of her room. Both of them comforted her greatly. They were her own parents to Delilah, she always felt the love from them she had never felt from her father.
A thought would constantly linger in her mind, she knew one day that this happiness would be taken away sooner or later.
"After all, everything happens with a reason." She thought, reassuring herself in her own thoughts.
Maybe her father hated her for a personal reason, but whatever it was..It was certain that his hate for Delilah would not change. It wasn't an opinion, it was definitely a fact. The hate wouldn't change even if he ever gain any affection for her..the hate will still remain in his heart.
Delilah suddenly stood up, startling Leon and Avery.
"I'm fine, it's my birthday today! I should be happy..no?" She gleamed.
Both witnesses of this weird scene looked concerned.
"Miss Delilah, did you take any certain medicine today?" Avery stuttered.
"No? I'm fine! Perfectly fine." She said, wondering what's with the look on their face.
"I'm curious, would you still be fine if you start crying then suddenly laughing?" Leon stated.
"No..wait! Hey! Don't say it like that." Delilah grumbled.
"Mhm….C'mon Avery, let's get cake. We could enjoy it peacefully without anyone suddenly laughing after a sad moment and not appreciating the people who comforted her." Leon boasted towards Delilah.
"Avery, you would leave some cake for me right? At least some!" Delilah folded her arms with her back faced towards Leon.
"Sigh….some twenty year olds fighting over a small matter and can't talk it out." Avery sighed and walked out of the scene quickly before she gets involved.

Back in the Royal palace, 'Vin' sat on the bench outside of the garden, legs crossed with a hint of a relaxed expression.
'What in the world am i doing? Why am i even here.' He questioned himself deeply while sitting down emotionless.
'Guess the free shelter in the garden won me over to come here.' He sighed. Who would've thought that the villain of the kingdom was such a simple man himself?
He Readjusted his hood just incase anyone recognised him. Sadly, just as soon as he did that a loud shout startled him, making him turn his head around to figure out who that was.
"It's 'Vin'! He's sitting down in the garden waiting for a chance to attack!"
A second later, numerous royal guards were surrounding him. 'Vin' was still seated trying to process what had happened.
Arthur Valencrest, appeared behind the royal guards with an intense aura around him.
"I finally got the chance to meet you, 'Vin'." He smirked drawing his sword out.
"Gosh, the world doesn't revolve around you defeating villains. I, myself also need a break." 'Vin' rolled his eyes and stood up in a cautious stance.
Arthur pointed the tip of his sword towards 'Vin'
"Sure, but ill defeat you today. So the world would revolve around me even more." He scoffed
'Vin' gently pushed away Arthur's sword and drew out his own.
"Give me a damn break." 'Vin' growled.
