" Well this is the last house, " Laxus said as he guided both Sera and Akira toward an abandoned house that was in ruins. For the last few days, the three of them went from one house to another on the list. Although most of the houses were well made and even luxurious both Akira and Sera didn't like them at all.
When Laxus asked why both of them replied like this, " This house doesn't have the right feeling ". Laxus had no idea what this feeling was but he was very tired after going all around the town the whole afternoon. So he hoped this last house would be the final one but after seeing the house's state he gave up. How could they choose this when they even rejected a small mansion?
"Let's go back I'm sure Grandpa will be able to find some other houses for you two to buy, " Laxus said as he was about to turn back. But his arm was grabbed by Akira who was looking at the house with desire rewritten all over his eyes. Even Sera seemed to be captivated by `this house.
'What the hell ' Laxus was so confused about this that he even rubbed his eyes to make sure he isn't dreaming.
" Hey, you guys could it be that you want this house, " Laxus asked just to be sure.
" Hmm "Both Sera and Akira nodded at the same time with shining eyes.
Looking at their excited expressions Laxus began to doubt himself. " Hey, am I the weird one here?" he muttered to which the other two completely ignored.
They were busy appraising the treasure they found. The reason why Akira and Sera rejected the other houses was because they needed to place an isolation formation in their new house.
They need this because they plan to build a magic tool shop in Magnolia. The house needs to be reinforced to protect their privacy and in case the magic workshop blows up. So, the isolation formation is very important for their future plan. For this formation, one must need a huge amount of magic power.
Since they couldn't obviously stay at the house 24 hours every day they needed to find an alternative source. And that is the natural mana in the air. And this place has a great concentration of magic power compared to all the other places. In fact, the conversation here is very abnormal that Akira even suspected a dragon may have died here.
Dragons are forces of nature as they are very powerful. But no one knows that when a dragon died his grave would contain a higher concentration of mana that could be considered a paradise for wizards. Not only would they be able to regenerate their magic power quickly they would even be able to grow many magical herbs which need a dense consecration of mana to grow.
" Hey Laxus, we'll take this place. Would you guide us toward the owner of this place so we can discuss the price? " Sera asked as she turned to Laxus.
" Hmm this place is correctly under the mayor as the people who originally owned this place ran away due to debt, " Laxus said as he read the small introduction about this property that was written on the paper.
" I see then would you please guide us towards the mayor's office so we could be done with the paperwork? " Sera said to which Laxus nodded.
" Sure I can guide you two but are you sure you want this one? " Laxus asked for the last time as he looked at the abandoned house that looked like it would fall any minute now.
" Yes, although we would need to renovate the house, we really like this land, " Sera said. Originally they didn't plan on building a house from scratch as that would be too troublesome but if it is for this land it is worth it.
" Okay, " Laxus said as he shrugged his shoulders. If they are this insistent on buying this land then who is he to stop them?
After the three of them went to the mayor's office things went extra smoothly. The mayor was very happy when he heard that the abandoned house was finally going to get sold. Although he had tried multiple times he never managed to sell it.
So when Sera and Akira came to buy that property he was so happy that he even gave them a discount.
After they were done with all the necessary procedures the three of them headed back to the guild to inform Makarov about their purchase.
" Brats, let's have a party. " And this is what Makarov said after hearing their story. He didn't care what type of property they bought as what mattered most is their own happiness.
" Ohhhhhhh " everyone cheered as the waitresses began to serve the drinks to everyone.
And in just no time everyone began to fight each other like usual. Since Makarov is still present no one tried to use magic as that would only get them a giant slap that would make them miss out on the party.
So with such good behavior, the party continued until it was close to midnight. And due to almost everyone being drunk, they all passed out on the floor.
" Damn, these guys sure know how to party, " Akira said as he drank his orange juice. Due to his age, no one gave him alcohol. So Akira and Laxus had to contend with Orange juice.
Laxus didn't answer as he looked at the guild members who were passed out on the floor. He didn't know why but he was very angry with the spectacle in front of him.
Akira, noticing his abnormality, tapped him on the shoulder before asking, "Hey what happened? Did you secretly drink some alcohol for you to be this dazed "
Laxus shook his head as he ignored Akira's words. He himself didn't know why he was feeling like this so how could he say what he is feeling to this bastard?
Seeing Laxus not answering, Akira sighed as he stood up. " Hey Laxus come with me, " He said as he dragged the surprised Laxus with him without letting me say anything.
" Hey wait…" Laxus wanted to complain but Akira completely ignored him as he dragged Laxus out of the guild like a girlfriend dragging her unfaithful boyfriend from the bar.
" Now what " Laxus asked as he looked at Akira with a bit of irritation as they came out of the guild.
Akira still didn't say anything as he just snapped his fingers.
A magic circle appeared and a flight of stairs made up of light materialized in front of them.
" Come on, let's go to the rooftop," Akira said as he once again dragged Laxus.
Laxus just sighed as he let himself be dragged by Akira. This guy is clearly not waiting for his consent anyway.
After arriving at the rooftop Akira lay down and looked at the night sky. Laxus too followed his example and lay down on the rooftop. Both of them looked at the night sky that is lit with stars.
"You know Laxus my mother abandoned me when I was just a few months old. " Akira began to speak as he looked at the sky with a bit of melancholy.
Laxus didn't interrupt him as he kept his quiet. He didn't know how to comfort his friend. Even though he lost his mother at a young age and had his father kicked out of the guild a few years ago his grandfather was still there supporting him.
" And although Sera was there for me for my whole life I still had this void in my heart. " Akira stopped as he turned to Laxus " But you see after coming to the guild that void is getting filled a little by little.
Although the guild looked like a pub I could still feel the harmony and familiar love. This is something very unique to Fairy Tail as I don't ever think another guild would be able to replicate this wonderful feeling "
" But these guys are acting like idiots and destroying Fairy Tail's reputation " Laxus couldn't help but say. He didn't know why but these words came out of his mouth without him even realizing.
Akira didn't seem angry as he said, "Well Laxus these idiots are our family. And why should we care about what everyone thinks? Fairy Tail doesn't need others' options. Like your grandfather always say magic comes from our hearts. How could we be excellent magicians if we cannot even follow our hearts?"
"Follow our hearts " Laxus muttered as he looked at the night sky.
