" Okay, you would need this, this, and this "Since Makarov couldn't think of a reasonable excuse he decided to ignore the situation completely. It wasn't his first time doing such a thing so he wasn't that much bothered by it.
But as a petty old man, he definitely wanted to get back at Akira. So he began to stack up various books that Akira would need. But the thing here is that he chose the biggest books for each subject. And by the end of his choosing Akira was holding a mountain of books that was way larger than he was.
" Okay these are all things you need to learn before you start practicing your magic, I expect great things from you, " Makarov said righteously.
If Akira didn't have his skill he might have believed Makarov but after hearing his petty thoughts Akira wanted to curse out loud.
He just asked a legitimately curious question okay. Why is it that he has to read through all this stuff that is clearly made for professionals instead of beginners?
Yes, these books are for adults who have a bottleneck in their growth. Due to this reason, the content in these is very complex and complicated for a complete beginner. So Makarov thought Akira would come back crying asking for guidance. And Makarov as the great guild master would teach him and have his image greatly enhanced.
' This would teach this brat how to be humble ' Makarov thought with a grin that thankfully no one understood. Well, no one except Akira who heard his thoughts.
Reading Makarov's thoughts Akira was speechless. He really wanted to ask whether he or Makarov was the real kid here. Did the last question really affect him this much?
' And besides I really don't need these anyway ' Akira thought as he looked at the books. As someone who had read/heard Irene's entire magic library his magical knowledge is not inferior to any wizard out there.
The only reason he didn't use magic is that Sera forbade him from learning anything till he was at the right age. And Akira wasn't that keen on ignoring her warning and revealing some deep magical knowledge that a kid his age shouldn't have known. If not he would have started practising when he was 1 or 2.
' Well on second thought, why don't I do this? ' Suddenly Akira had a very great idea. Since his dear president wants to teach him all this he shouldn't be ungrateful for not doing as he wanted.
" Thank you, president, I will definitely study hard and live up to your expectations," Akira said with a smile that looked like a devil's smile.
Looking at Akira's smile Makarov had a bad feeling. He didn't know why he felt he was going to regret something very soon in the future.

~The next day ~
" So president, it's like this, huh?" Akira said as he demonstrated a fireball spell incorrectly, destroying the guild's backyard. Well, half of the backyard was already destroyed, so this wasn't that big of a deal.
"Oops, it seems I've done it wrong again. But don't worry, president, I will definitely get it right next time," Akira said innocently.
Makarov, seeing Akira's demonstration, had cold sweat running down his back. Today, Akira brought him out to the training ground to ask for some guidance, just as Makarov expected.
But Makarov miscalculated very badly. This kid is a monster who managed to make a normal fireball as destructive as an A-rank wizard's full-strength attack.
And most importantly, 'He is destroying the guild!' Tears broke out in Makarov's eyes as he imagined the funds needed to fix this mess.
"Stop, stop, Akira, you have to stop!" Makarov shouted as he snapped out of his thoughts. By then, Akira had already cast another big explosion.
"But president, I still haven't achieved the desired effect yet," Akira complained like a little kid would.
"What do you mean, it doesn't have the desired effect? Isn't this already enough?" Makarov shouted, trying his best to stop himself from strangling the kid.
Is he not satisfied with this level of destruction?
" of course not shouldn't this be a beginner-level fireball. No matter how outrageous my fireball is it isn't the beginner-level fireball that is said in those books. So until I managed to make a normal fireball I can't really say I mastered the spell. " Akira said righteously. After reading those books he found out that the spells that were mentioned in them were all ways one could cast advanced magic through beginner-level magic. Most experienced wizards use this method to reduce casting time during a fight.
But the thing is that if you aren't an expert in magical theory like Akira you wouldn't be able to understand the truth. A normal person would think this is normal beginner-level magic not knowing that the steps are completely different from beginner-level magic.
Furthermore due to how complex the explanation is a noob would never be able to understand how to activate the spell.
Makarov's plan must have known that Akira would never be able to understand anything in those books. So he would have to come and learn from him. At that time he would teach him magic the normal way while also taking away those complicated books.
It was the perfect plan. But who would have thought that Akira would be a monster who managed to understand all that complicated explanation in a matter of hours?
Normally Makarov would be very happy. After all, with such a talent Akira would undoubtedly be a pillar of Fairy Tail in the future.
But unfortunately, he couldn't as that future pillar is at this moment demolishing the guild. And it is all due to the fact he made him think such a complicated spell is a simple beginner-level magic.
" I give up Akira please stop, please for the love of God stop destroying the guild "Seeing the destruction Makarov finally stopped resisting. His pride isn't worth the cost that would be needed to fix this mess.
So before Akira could destroy everything he hugged him to stop him.
" Ehh okay president I will stop. So stop crying okay? And please get off of me your snots are getting all over my clothes. " Akira said with disgust.
Having an old man and much less a snot-dripping one cling to you is not a pretty sight. If this wasn't Makarov, Akira would have already kicked him away.
"Now do you understand what you did wrong " Akira asked after seeing Makarov get a hold of himself. It's time for a lecture.
"Yes, " Makarov said as he was a naughty child who was caught doing something naughty.
"Honestly I would have never thought that one of the great Ten saints would be this petty. " Akira said as he shook his head helplessly.
"I'm sorry " Makarov bowed again as he apologized again. When hearing from another perspective it indeed was too childish of him.
" Wait Akira how the hell did you know my plan, " Makarov asked as he suddenly realized this crucial point. He never confessed in the first place.
Akira froze.
