The Alpha Queen snarled, summoning dark energy. Emilia countered,

from darkness and shadow. The dragon spoke, its voice echoing in Emilia's mind.

Emilia's eyes widened.

The dragon replied:

''Asher, you're asking us to trust you? Asher nodded.'' ''I swear to protect Emilia and restore balance.'' Evelyn intervened.
''We need his knowledge to defeat the Alpha Queen.'' Emilia weighed her
options. Could she trust Asher? The Alpha Queen's laughter echoed.
''Fools! You think a forbidden alliance will stop me?'' Emilia steeled herself.

David sneered.

''Meet Ryder,'' Evelyn said.

Ryder stepped forward, piercing green eyes gleaming.
''I'll help,'' Ryder said,
''but at a price.'' Liam growled.
''What do you want? Liam asked.
Ryder smiled.
''Protection from David's allies.'' Emilia hesitated.
''Deal,'' Emilia said. Ryder revealed the artifact's location.
''A hidden temple, guarded by powerful entities.''
Emilia steeled herself.
''We'll face whatever comes next.''
As they prepare to leave, Emilia sensed unease from Ryder.
''What are you hiding?'' Emilia asked.
Ryder's smile faltered.
''Nothing,'' Ryder said.

Emilia, Liam, Evelyn, and Ryder approached the hidden temple.
''Prepare for traps and guardians,'' Ryder warned.

''You'll never leave this temple alive,'' David snarled.
Emilia's determination burned.

Ryder, no!'' Emilia cried.
Ryder hesitated, then joined David.
''Ryder, no!'' Emilia cried.

''Surrounded by betrayal.'' Emilia's heart sank. Emilia shock turn to
determination.
''We won't let you have the crystal.'' Emilia declared.
David sneered.
''Ryder's loyalty will ensure my victory.'' Ryder's expression faltered.
''I'm sorry, Emilia. I had no choice.'' Liam snarled.
''You'll pay for betraying us.'' The battle raged on.
Evelyn unleashed ancient magic. Emilia confronted Ryder.
''Why?'' Emilia asked.
Ryder's voice barely rose above a whisper
''My sister … David has her. I had to protect her.'' Emilia's heart wrenched.
''I would have help you,'' Emilia said. Ryder's eyes filled with tears.
''I know. Forgiveness…'' Ryder turned on David.
''I'll make it right.'' Ryder attacked David, buying Emilia time.
''Get the crystal!'' Ryder shouted.

''Ryder, no!'' Emilia shouted, as David struck Ryder down.
Ryder final whisper, protect …. Your heart.''
Emilia's grief fueled her powers. The crystal resonated with Emilia's
emotions. A blinding light enveloped the temple. When the light faded, David lay
defeated. Evelyn rushed to Ryder's side.
''Ryder, dear one … ''Evelyn whispered.
Ryder's gaze locked onto Emilia.
''A new path …. unfolding,'' Ryder said, before his eyes closed.
Emilia felt Ryder's spirit merge with the crystal.
Liam's comforting presence wrapped around Emilia.
''we'll honor Ryder's memory,'' Liam said.
As they exited the temple, Emilia sensed the crystal's true potential.
''A powerful ally,'' Evelyn said, ''or a formidable foe.'' Emilia's resolve strengthened.
