**110 AC, 5th Moon, Claw Isle, Celtigar Keep**
My eyes slowly opened, as I heard a knock on my door, and I arose from the bed.
"Who is it?" I asked, and the knocking stopped.
"It's Ser Daeron, M´Lord." The voice came back, and I sighed.
I was reborn into Planetos, which it was often called. Or the Game of Thrones series, for most. But I was not born in the age of Night Kings and Baratheon Kings, I was reborn in the age of Targaryen and its golden age, during its golden age.
I was born in 96 AC, to Lord Bartimos Celtigar and Lady Daena Velaryon, the third sister of Lord Corlys Velaryon.
And I was my fathers heirs, the oldest of his 2 sons.
"What is it, Daeron?" I asked my guard.
Daeron was a Captain of the Celtigar Crab Guards.
House Celtigar was positioned on Claw Isle, ruling over Celtigar Keep, Claw Isle was a small and mountainous, it's shore was riddled with stones and cliffs, the only suitable place to land of Claw Isle, named Coralspire, due to the corals found in the water beneath the port.
The port was formed by the beach, and a long upwards opening was the only entrance to the main port, it was formed in an U-shape, with barely 20 meters in width, whereas people could traverse.
At the entrance of this opening, which was called the Saltfire Pass, had a single gate, 12 meter tall walls, built to repel ladders, and there was a reason for it.
The natural surrounding of the Saltfire Pass were naturally resilient to any type of siege engines.
There were no solid ground whereas the Trebuchet and Siege Towers could be placed, so the walls weren't built to be resistant to Trebuchets and Catapults, so instead the walls were about 3 meters thick, but the the top of the battlements were a massive 6 meter thick, allowing multiple troops to be stationed there.
The wall possessed a gatehouse, it utilised the double gate systems, and it was littered with murder holes and Portcullis's, it had a lot of machicolations.
The gatehouse was further secured by a drawbridge, the entrance was built up high, and the walls were supported by ditches infront, making the use of ladders difficult.
Lastly, there were 2 circular bastion towers, also filled by opening for Arrows and crenellations, this wall was called the Crimson Gate, a hint towards both our sigils, which was red crabs, but also the blood which would be spilled to surpass this gate.
And at the top of the Saltifire Pass, lied a town, simply named the Crabs Town.
Claw Isle wasn't precisely very populous, in fact. On the entirety of Claw Isle, there were only about 5000 inhabitants, 3000 of whom lived in Crabs Town.
However, the inhabitants of Claw Isle were extremely loyal and resilient, having lived on this harsh island for years, they could be compared to the North, or even the free folk. And their loyalty to House Celtigar preceded that.
Claw Isle was not an island which could be profited from, or so most believed. But the Celtigars didn´t earn their money from this island, no. House Celtigar flourished from trade, and currently we were witnessing our golden age.
The Sea Snake and his trade, made roughly 450 000 Golden Dragons, from his roughly sized 400 Trade Ships yearly.
Of course, if they made that much money, one may ask how Velaryon wasn't relevant at all during the Game Of Thrones, well the truth it. The Sea Snake, like Tywin Lannister, exhausted their profits too much.
The Sea Snake had found a few, profitable routes, each of his ship travelling for 10 months back and forth, and he earned between 1000 to 1500 Golden Dragons per ship, per trip. After paying the crew and for his original supplies.
But his problem, was that he bet the longstanding of House Velaryon, to further his own standing.
Instead of relaxing the routes, and let them develop for a long time, not over-trade, then he would continue to earn 1000-1500 a year for perhaps a hundred years in the future, but by sending 100 ships through 4 standard routes every year, the goods he brought, would be brought in such numbers that their price would fall.
Anyhow, House Celtigar had roughly 75 Large Trading Vessels, which brought in about 500 Golden Dragons annually, resulting in 37 500 Golden Dragons.
And our taxes gave us 1000 Golden Dragons annually, resulting in about 38 500 in yearly profit.
However, back to the main attraction, Celtigar Keep.
Celtigar Keep was built on the cliffs of Claw Isle, with walls that are about 12 meters tall, and 4 meters thick, made from a mix of dark stone and iron. The walls stretch around the keep in a square, 50 meters length per side, enclosing the main fortress and a small courtyard. There are four round towers, one on each corner of the wall, rising 18 meters tall with pointed roofs and battlements for defense.
The main gate is a massive iron portcullis set within a heavily reinforced gatehouse, with a drawbridge crossing over a narrow ravine or moat that leads to the keep. The gatehouse has murder holes and arrows slits for defenders to fire down at attackers. The keep itself is a rectangular structure, about 20 meters long and 30 meters wide with multiple floors and a large central hall.
Celtigar Keep itself was not anything special, but the insides were magnificent. House Celtigar and Claw Isle had never been raided, nor had it been touched. And House Celtigar has a long ancestral history, dating back to the Valyrian Empire. And as such, their castle storage was filled with jewellery and treasures, and its inside was luxurious.
House Celtigar had a relatively standard income, never going too high, nor too low. And this continuous flow of money, had been a great boon, but it had its drawbacks, for Celtigar was a mediocre House, the Targaryens rarely marrying into the House.
Only House Velaryon knew of our worth, which had resulted in an ancestral friendship with the House, but as the Sea Snake got richer, we were left behind.
But that wouldn't be going on for long, for I had an unignorable ambition.
I had lived my time on Earth in Luxury, the modern welfare and food surpasses any nobles on this planet, I lived in Europe, with decently rich parents, and I lived a decent life, I never became rich, but I lived my life as I wished, mediocre.
But now, that I had come to this world, I had one desire.
To write my name down in history, on Earth nobody knew of my name, I never made a change and neither was I important, I was a normal man amongst the 7 billion. But here, I could truly accomplish what I deemed impossible on Earth, fame and power.
And I knew that, for me to accomplish said thing. There was one thing I needed, a single existence, a single power. Dragons.....
