Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Inside a sunlit school building, a group of students from various classes were walking in the hallway. They were all busy chatting with their friends.

"Hey! Do you want to go to the library?"

"I'm going to the cafeteria first."

"Hey, wait for me! You're walking too fast."

And among the students, there was a male student who walked down the stairs leading out of the building. He stopped and turned around to stare at the school building. While running a hand through his hair, the student spoke to himself.

"I really still can't believe this happened."

"I've really been transported to the world of the novels I read."

'I will become a Hero and Save the World'

A Japanese novel that is in high demand not only in Japan, but all over the world. More than 90 million copies were sold. Not only that, this novel series also received an anime adaptation. The well-adapted first to fifth seasons attracted more fans of the series.

It was a very good novel that gained popularity with readers all over the world. And many have made it their favorite novel and that includes me.

I originally had no interest in reading a novel and watching an anime. Even when it was taking the world by storm and had gotten a 5-season adaptation, I didn't even care.

However, 2 months earlier I was reading the first volume of the novel series. The novel has a theme like any other novel. It tells the story of a gate appearing in the world and there are monsters in it. And the people who can finish off the monsters are people who have super abilities nicknamed 'Hero'. 'Heroes' have the task of eliminating monsters and there is an academy that fosters teenagers who have superpowers to become 'Heroes'. It is at the academy that the story begins.

The story and theme may sound cliché. However, that's only at the beginning of the story. Once you get into the main story everything becomes more interesting cunning villains, slow and interesting character development, characters that have their own characteristics, epic and heart-pounding battles. Not to mention the meticulous and neat illustrations, be it character illustrations, scenery, and battles.

All of these things are just a few of the things in the novel that can attract readers.

All of that is true to this day.

('I can't believe I read this trashy novel.')

('You're not alone my friend. I can't believe it either. What did this writer actually eat to make a novel like this?')

('What kind of writer do you think you are to make a novel like this?')

('You shouldn't be a writer if you're mentally ill you know')

('Trash should stay in the trash')

('You guys should just shut up')

('Don't insult other people's work, if you've never made your own.')

Shortly after the last volume of the novel appeared many blasphemous messages from fans of the novel series. Not without reason, the end of the novel series has an unexpected ending. It can't be called bad and it can't be called good. The protagonist and heroine managed to defeat the final enemy, but with many sacrifices made.

Do you think this is the only thing that makes fans blaspheme this series? You're wrong, there's more. The protagonist loses his powers and not only that he experiences a curse for killing the final enemy. The curse is that the protagonist becomes impotent. Then the heroine takes care of the protagonist, sounds happy doesn't it. But you are all wrong. While the heroine is taking care of the protagonist, all the heroine are lonely. One by one, the heroine slept with another man. Some are threatened, framed, brainwashed, and many others. It was truly a hell for the reader and the protagonist. At the end of the story, the protagonist found out everything because someone sent a video of the heroine being fucked by many people. The protagonist just watched with tears flowing and grabbed a tissue.

What a horrible ending. The valiant and brave protagonist kills the final boss. Now helpless, even the protagonist's impotence is cured when he sees people fucking the heroine. No wonder the novelist's account was sent a lot of abuse and death threats. I also thought that the author was taking drugs.

"Hah! What in the world is going through this bastard writer's head to create such a crazy ending?"

A curse spontaneously came out of my mouth. My head was filled with anger that could even explode.

In the past 2 months, I had used the savings I had saved up to buy volumes of the novel from the first to the last, bought anime BDs, and other merchandise to support the author. Until I was betrayed by this ending. Following the author's social media accounts, queuing up at the signing session, and sending congratulations to the author.

"I'm such a fool! I spent my money, time, and effort only to be disappointed."

Staring at my computer screen, I looked at the posts on the author's account. A new post where she uploaded a picture filled with curses, curses, and more.

I shouldn't have bothered reading the novel series.

"This bastard feels as if he's innocent. It looks like I should also write a message to the author to let him know how much I hate him."

"Hahahaha!"

A hollow laugh escaped my mouth.

I quickly grabbed my keyboard and furiously typed every word. The message was filled with swearing, cursing, and cursing. Even after writing over 1000 words, my annoyance and anger did not subside. With the last part of the message I typed.

('I can create a much better ending than the one you fucking writer created')

I roughly pressed the mouse button. The 1000 words I typed in the draft message were then sent to the author's social media account.

Before long the message I had sent immediately showed a sign that the writer had read my message.

Shortly afterward a sign showed that the writer was making a reply.

"I don't care about this anymore."

I immediately blocked the author's account and turned off the computer.

"I don't want to hear any excuses. Hah! Never mind that the novel is finished anyway, even if arguing with the author on his account. It's not certain that the author will change the ending."

Leaning my head against the chair's consciousness, I turned to the bookcase filled with 'I'll be a Hero and Save the World' novels lined up there.

"Huh!"

Calming my anger and annoyance, I exhaled deeply.

"I can't believe I bought all these novels along with anime BDs and other merchandise."

Looking around, the room was filled with merchandise from the novel.

"Tomorrow I'll throw it all away or should I burn and tear it up. Ah! Whatever, I need something to vent my anger."

I checked the clock and it was 12pm. I had to go to bed soon. I turned off the light and lay down on the bed. I slowly closed my eyes. Tomorrow I have to get up early and go to work. That's what I was supposed to do. Until I woke up in the morning and saw an unfamiliar ceiling.
