Chapter 26 - Sleep(2)

Master, is this right? I... I mean, sleeping in your bed..."

"Didn't you sleep just before?"

"Ye... yeah, Master, but you weren't there at that time. But now..."

"You are just a disciple. What are you thinking?" Zi Xia said in a sharp tone.

"Or do you have any thoughts about me?" she asked, raising her eyebrows.

"N-No, Master! What thoughts could I have?" Jiang Chen said hurriedly, though internally he thought, Master, forget about me having thoughts about you, but I definitely know you have thoughts about me.

"Though you're right. I'm just a disciple, anyway," Jiang Chen added with a slightly downcast expression and a faintly sad smile.

Zi Xia, seeing his expression, thought, Cute~ but is he disappointed by what I just said? Did he also think of me in another way?? Ahhhhhh!

No... no... I need to be calm. Calm~ Calm~ Calm... hehe.

Why is she suddenly silent? Jiang Chen wondered.

"Master," Jiang Chen said softly.

"Ahem, y-yeah... Come here, lie down on the bed on the right side."

Jiang Chen moved towards the bed, sitting down and looking in Zi Xia's direction. She wasn't looking at him but staring straight ahead.

As he lay down, the calming light of the moon streamed in through the window, illuminating his skin and providing a kind of relief. Her natural scent lingered in the air—emanating from her bed and from herself—making his heart race. Different, inappropriate thoughts started flooding his mind, thoughts no disciple should have for his master.

Closing his eyes, Jiang Chen took a deep breath, thinking it would calm his heart. But just as he opened his eyes, his gaze fell on her black hair, which was flowing freely as she lay beside him. She was lying on her side, her face turned toward him.

When he turned his head to look at her, he saw her face—her black, silky hair, with some strands resting on her chin, slightly covering her moon-like, beautiful eyes. Her jade-like face, illuminated by the moonlight, and her intoxicating fragrance overwhelmed his senses. Jiang Chen's body began to react involuntarily, his hormones surging.

But he quickly suppressed his thoughts with his impure—or perhaps pure—will. Just as he thought he had overcome his state of mind, his gaze fell on her chest.

Previously, Jiang Chen hadn't noticed her change of attire. Now, he saw it—a thin, purple nightgown. Though her bosom was covered, there was a slight peak visible. Her chest seemed to have a life of its own, as if...

They wanted Jiang Chen to look at them.

They wanted to hypnotize him.

They wanted him to touch them.

They wanted Jiang Chen to feel them...

Or at least, that's what Jiang Chen thought.

As his gaze remained on Zi Xia's chest, her eyes were fixed on him, noticing exactly where he was looking. Her heart raced as she observed his wandering eyes. A faint smile of bliss formed on her face—a mixture of shame, bashfulness, relief, and pride. Yes, she was proud of her mounds. And it seemed her disciple was admiring them, too.

"Where are you looking?" Zi Xia asked coldly.

Jiang Chen froze, jolted back to reality by her voice. Collecting his thoughts, he hurriedly looked up at her face. Her cold, piercing gaze made him panic.

Shit! How can I be so lustful? And even if I am, how could I show it so openly? Wouldn't her favor for me fall? Jiang Chen, what are you doing?!

Now Jiang Chen closed his eyes tightly, bracing himself for the scolding he was certain would come. Like a child who had done something wrong, he prepared to receive his punishment. No matter how much Zi Xia liked him, or how much she secretly wanted him, there was no way she would let this slide.

But the scolding he was waiting for didn't come.

Instead, he felt a soft touch on his cheek—a cold, gentle touch of her fingers trailing along his skin. It sent chills down his spine. His eyes shot open, and he saw her looking at him with calm, tender eyes and a soft smile on her lips.

At that moment, Jiang Chen's racing heart calmed. The lust that had overtaken him moments ago disappeared as if it had never existed. In its place came admiration—admiration for her love, her care, her tenderness.

For the first time since coming to this world, Jiang Chen felt a deep sense of peace. All his worries—the ex-master he needed to watch out for, the son of destiny, the looming dangers—vanished from his mind. There was nothing but her... just her, with her peaceful smile.

Without realizing it, Jiang Chen reached out and touched her cheek with his hand. He gazed at her tenderly, affection filling his eyes—an affection he hadn't known he held for her. He didn't understand what he was feeling, nor did he try to.

He simply closed his eyes.

Sleep... just sleep...

And Jiang Chen fell into a peaceful dreamland.

As for Zi Xia...
