Chapter 17 - Answer?

"Ahh it says that If you became my dao partner ,it will help you in your future revenge of course at a reasonable price ...." Jiang Chen said desperately ,he didn't want to lose this chance....

"Future Revenge....."wishpering the lady started thinking.....

Jiang Chen saw her thinking deeply,he was sure she'd say yes, afterall this was a great opportunity for her, having the support of the 'system'...

'waitt ....she doesn't even know what a system is and how omnipotent can a system be,i've read many novels of this genre so I know but she.....'

'"Hey, system, you're omnipotent, right?" Jiang Chen asked internally, wanting to confirm the suspicion he had about the system's true potential and if he could trust him in increasing his power rapidly.

For a moment, there was silence, and then the system's calm yet sharp voice echoed in his mind:

[Omnipotence is relative, Host. Even the most powerful system is only as effective as the one who wields it. If my host is useless, then no matter how limitless my potential, I would be no more than a rusted blade in a fool's hands, left to rot in mediocrity. However, if you are determined, resourceful, and capable, then together, we can reach heights others could only dream of.]

The words struck a chord with Jiang Chen, filling him with a mixture of realization and determination. The system's potential wasn't the question—his own was...

'well then that's good, since I know I have the most potential and I am a genius too,yeah...there is nothing to worry about'

Jiang Chen thought confidently or maybe he was just delusioning himself....

"You're not lying, are you?" she asked, her tone icy and her gaze piercing, as if she could see through Jiang Chen's very soul.

Jiang Chen swallowed hard, feeling the weight of her words. "No, I promise I'll help you," he said, his voice firm and filled with sincerity while internally he was exicited as dog in heat.

Boom! Crack!

Suddenly, a deafening clap of thunder roared through the sky, followed by a streak of lightning that illuminated the dark clouds above. Jiang Chen's heart skipped a beat, and he instinctively glanced upward, his face paling. "Shit," he muttered under his breath, the ominous sign sending a chill down his spine.

He quickly turned back to the woman, her expression now softer, and has a beautiful smile . Lust gripped him as he stammered, "I-I mean, I promise I'll help you! But... uh, with a reasonable price, of course!"

""I'm not asking for any price," Jiang Chen clarified, scratching the back of his head awkwardly. "It's just that... that blue thing. It won't let me help you without a price. It's pretty useful, sure, but it's also just a little greedy." He chuckled nervously, trying to lighten the mood, though her expression didn't change.

She took a deep breath, her cold demeanor softening just a fraction. "I need some time to think," she finally said, her tone steady but contemplative.

"Ah, okay." Jiang Chen nodded, trying not to seem too eager. Inwardly, he thought, It's good not to push her too hard. I'll give her the space she needs.

As his initial excitement began to fade, a sudden realization struck him like a bolt of lightning. Zi Xia!

His eyes widened in panic as he thought about his master. Oh shit, Zi Xia, my beautiful master! She must be shocked out of her mind after not seeing me in her room. What do I even tell her? Where was I? And how the hell am I supposed to sneak back into the sect? Forget explaining—The sect probably kill me on sight! His thoughts spiraled further into chaos. But I have to return somehow… don't I?

Before his anxiety could spiral out of control, the system's voice interrupted.

[Host, you can teleport to any contacted 'Milf.']

Jiang Chen froze, his panic momentarily replaced with astonishment. Wait… you can do that?

[Indeed.]

He blinked, his mind racing. But if I return to Zi Xia now… how will I hear her answer? His gaze flicked back to the woman in front of him, conflicted.

[She is marked as a 'Customer.' You can teleport to her as well.]

Jiang Chen's jaw dropped. What kind of godly ability is this?

For a moment, he couldn't help but marvel at the absurd convenience of the system. Then, shaking his head, he muttered, First things first. I need to figure out what I'm going to do before I teleport anywhere...

"So, are you staying here to hear my answer?" the lady asked, her gaze steady, though her tone betrayed a hint of curiosity.

"No, I have to return," Jiang Chen replied firmly.

"Return? Where?" she asked, tilting her head slightly.

"To my master," Jiang Chen said casually.

At the mention of his master, the woman's expression shifted subtly. Her eyebrows raised, and a flicker of something—shock, disbelief, or perhaps intrigue—crossed her face. Jiang Chen, however, was too preoccupied to notice.

"You have a master?" she asked, her voice tinged with surprise.

"Yes. But why are you so surprised?" Jiang Chen asked, his brows furrowing slightly.

"Hm, I just thought..." She paused, her gaze scrutinizing him. "I thought 'Genies' didn't have masters since you're supposed to grant wishes, not take orders."

"Well," Jiang Chen shrugged, "I acknowledged a master only today."

Her eyes widened, genuine shock breaking through her usual calm demeanor. "You acknowledged a master today?"

"Yeah. Why do you sound so surprised? Is it that strange?" Jiang Chen asked, his tone slightly perplexed.

The woman hesitated for a moment before replying, "No, it's just... I thought it was unusual. Didn't you gain a master too late?" she said, attempting to steer the conversation in a different direction.

Jiang Chen chuckled dryly, his gaze drifting toward the horizon where the sun was sinking, painting the sky in hues of orange and gold. "It's not that I've never had a master before. I did. But..." He paused, his voice lowering as a tinge of melancholy crept in. "Let's just say I wasn't worthy of being her disciple. My previous master... she undiscipled me."

For a moment, silence hung in the air. The lady studied his face, the way his usually confident demeanor softened into something more vulnerable. The sadness in his eyes, however fleeting, caught her off guard.

She nodded slightly, her expression unreadable. "I see."

Breaking the somber mood, Jiang Chen straightened up and smiled faintly. "Anyway, I should go. But don't worry—I'll be back tomorrow."

The lady watched as he prepared to leave, her thoughts swirling.

Jiang Chen wishpered internally 'System'

Jiang Chen suddenly disappeared from where he stood, vanishing as if he had never been there.

The lady stood still, her gaze lingering absentmindedly on the spot where he had been moments ago. Her thoughts seemed distant, lost in contemplation.

After some time had passed, a scroll materialized in her hand, seemingly out of nowhere. She unrolled it carefully, revealing a photograph of a man. He was strikingly handsome, his features sharp and captivating.

This man was none other than Jiang Chen. Below the photograph was a long list of detailed information about him, meticulously recorded. The lady's eyes scanned the scroll, her expression unreadable, as she reread the contents.
