Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The curse of eternal suffering

In the south side of a small nation, there was a village named Creekside. This village was an isolated one where people don't usually reside to. Creekside also had powerful ruler, one who could carry out dark magic.

There was a particular man and his wife in the village that served Cassper, the ruler of this land. This couple has served Cassper and his family for many years. They struggled to survive, so they settled for the duty of serving Cassper's family.

Every year, a member of one family is sentenced to death, not as a penalty to any crime but as a sacrifice to enable Cassper with more power. The villagers couldn't protest against it considering how powerless they were against Cassper.

The family to perform the sacrifice is randomly selected, this time around ended up being the family of the couple that served Cassper. Having no other living member of either couple's family, it was either the man or his wife that would be sacrificed, this decision was to be made by both of them. They cried and begged for mercy but Cassper was known to be wicked and not merciless in any way. Cassper demanded for their decision to be made in twenty-four hours.

Elena and Stefan (the couples), went home that night filled with fear and tears. Stefan volunteered to sacrifice his life for Elena to live, but Elena disagreed. He then suggested that they should flee the village.

"But our families legacy and property remains here in this village, we can't just leave all that behind and run away", said Elena. Stefan kept on trying to convince her, "there would be no happiness if one of us stay here, bad memories will just circulate in our mind if we remain, so please my love let's leave this village. We'll go and never return", he said. Elena then agreed with him and so they ran away not stopping until they left the village.

The next morning, Cassper sent his messenger to the house of Stefan and Elena to request for their decision, but they were nowhere to be found. The messenger reported back to the King saying that they had fled the village. After hearing this Cassper was left furious. He called together some of his soldiers, "go on make sure you find those fugitives" said Cassper in an angry tone.

The soldiers went in search of the fugitives but they were unable to find them. So they returned to give word to the King. The king then placed a curse on that family. This was a curse of eternal suffering. They would live to suffer on earth and still burn in the pit of hell for eternity.

On the other end, the couple had already settled in a neighboring village not knowing that there was suffering laid for them by the king of Creekside.
