Chapter 4
Anastasia Konstantinos
Never in a million years did I ever imagine I'd one day find my mate, let alone the person turning out to be Alpha Viktor of all werewolves. Was I supposed to be happy, grateful to the moon goddess, or curse her for pairing me up with this man?
Of all the werewolves out there, why did it have to be him?
Alpha Viktor is the Alpha of Blood Moon pack, the most influential pack in the werewolf world, and aside that, the most powerful and dangerous Alpha that was said to have ever walked the phase of earth. He is feared by everyone, even his fellow Alphas. I've heard scary things about him, which included how he had conquered and took over some werewolf Packs. How could I be mate with such a person?
My heart almost stopped beating as he approached me, and as much as I wanted to step away, my legs felt too weak to move from the spot.
He soon got to where I was standing, and held out his hand to me, but I feared taking his hand.
"I finally found you, mate." His lips curled up in a smile that was only around his lips and didn't spread to his eyes.
My heart pounded hard in my chest, my hand trembled as I reached for his hand, unifying in an electric spark that had my wolf going crazy with excitement.
Amid my nervousness, I could see the shock in everyone's faces, especially that of my father and his so-called family. For the first time in my entire years of existence, I actually felt satisfied.
"Eh… Al…Alpha?" My father stepped forward, his eyes filled with fear and shock as he spoke.
"Uhm… Anastasia…" he called my name, his gaze softening as he looked at me. I couldn't remember the last time he looked at me with those eyes. Before now, I used to feel compassion for him even after all the pain he made me go through, but not after what he said about my mother and made her look like she was a horrible woman.
He tried to touch me, but Alpha Viktor stopped him before I could step away from him. "Don't touch her, Konstantinos." Alpha Viktor's voice was filled with rage as he spoke, and for the first time, I saw fear in my father's eyes. I never thought there was someone he would actually be scared of. Well, that was until now.
Silence echoed in the hall that even the sound of a pin drop would be heard if any dropped on the ground. Every single person in the hall looked like they wanted to disappear if they could.
Alpha Viktor turned to me, his eyes softened as they gazed at me. "Tell me, what do you want me to do to them? Give me the command, and consider it done."
My lips parted shockingly, unable to believe that this was really happening. I pinched the skin under my dress, and when it hurt, I knew that I wasn't hallucinating. This was reality.
"Ana…" I heard my father whisper, and when I looked at him, he shook his head pleadingly. Something I didn't imagine would happen even in a million years.
At that moment, it didn't matter whatever happened later, but I needed to use this golden opportunity that I was offered on a platter of gold.
I took out my phone and opened the notepad before typing in it.
'I want him to tell the truth about my mother and apologise for saying those horrible things about her'.
After I showed him my phone, he turned to my father and asked him to tell the truth and apologize to me.
"Is that all I have to do?"
I couldn't help the disgust I felt when my father looked at me pathetically and asked.
"Do it!" All my father needed to act right was an order from Alpha Viktor, and he began telling everyone the truth and how he and his family had been maltreating me.
"I'm sorry about everything, Ana. Please give me another chance, and I promise to make things right." I didn't want him to, but right in front of me, my father went on his knees to beg me.
He looked over to his wife and kids and snapped at them. "What are you doing? Come here!"
His wife, Ophelia, and Dimitri came to join him in pleading as if I would ever forgive them.
"Ana, you are my sister, you know? I didn't mean to treat you in that manner, I promise. It…it was mom… she put me up to it, I swear it." Ophelia's eyes were filled with tears as she pleaded with me while on her knees, tugging at my dress.
"It wasn't me, I promise. It was my husband. Your father put me up to it. I swear I wanted to treat you like my daughter, but he said I can't. Please give us another chance." Luna Petrova pleaded as she also tugged at my dress.
I looked over to Dimitri, clenching my fingers into a tight fist as memories of every shit he has done to me replayed in my head. How he had tried to force himself on me several times and I always managed to escape. How he bullied me. Every single thing he has ever done to me was etched in my memory like a permanent tattoo, and as much as I wanted him to pay for everything, I didn't know the right punishment to give him.
"Please say something, Ana. Please don't neglect us." My father pleaded as though his life depended on it. They were all scared of what Alpha Viktor would do to them.
Alpha Viktor held my hand, clasping his fingers with mine, and my heart fluttered. He looked into my eyes softly and said. "I will take it from here."
He turned to the crowd and said. "Starting today, Blood Moon Pack, cut ties with moonstone pack. Hence, the moonstone pack will no longer be under the protection of the Blood Moon Pack. And Blood Moon corporation ceases cooperation with the moonstone Corp henceforth." My jaw dropped to the ground when Alpha Viktor announced that. Everyone was as shocked as I was.
I didn't want to believe that this was really because of me. He must've had another reason for this.
"Al…alpha… you can't do that, please. You can't do that." My father's body shook, his voice quivered as he crawled on the floor to where we were standing.
"Ana, please help me talk to the Alpha. I'm still your father, you know? I didn't know what came over me, I swear it. Please you can't do this to us." Fear was evident in his voice and eyes as he pleaded with me, but he would be joking if he thought that I would listen to him.
He should be happy he wasn't impeached from being the Alpha.
"Ana, you know this is my life we are talking about. Our life, the future of the moonstone pack. The future of the whole pack. Please don't let this happen to us." He tried touching me, but I stepped away from him, letting out a scoff. If only I could speak, I would've said to him what was on my mind.
'You don't deserve to be a father. If you think I'm going to beg on your behalf, then you are a big joker. You are the worst father on earth, and you deserve whatever bad thing that comes your way'
His face dropped sadly when I showed him what I wrote on my phone.
Alpha Viktor held my hand and led me out of the hall, not after ordering that Dimitri be taken with us to the Blood Moon Pack.
I had no idea what was awaiting me over there in the Blood Moon Pack, but it didn't matter anyway. I'd rather be a slave there than be here with these monsters…
