I struggled to my feet, every movement weighed down by an invisible burden. Small rocks fell from the ceiling like a rain of rubble, the dust choking the air and making it heavy.
As I scanned my surroundings, my gaze finally landed on a figure lying motionless not far from me.

Her body was lifeless on the floor, blood dried around the wound that had ended her. The face that had once been so gentle, so warm, now seemed hollow, devoid of the brightness it had carried.
