Chapter 17 - Now I'm madly in love

This is bad. To think that Yuna is real... Shiori-san might misunderstand.

"Sensei, here's Mishizaki-kun's wallet." Yuna handed the wallet to Shiori-san and quickly left.

But Shiori-san followed her right after.

"Class, I need to step out for a bit. Don't cause any trouble while I'm gone."

Shiori-san! That Yuna is innocent!

I had a bad feeling about this, so I followed them.

"Haru, where are you going?" Shino called out.

"Bathroom," I said quickly and walked off.

I went to the second floor, where Class A was. Yuna might try to head back to her classroom, after all.

As I climbed the stairs, I saw Shiori-san talking to Yuna. I hid behind the wall, straining to hear their conversation.

"Yuna Fuukawa, do you have any... special connection to Mishizaki?"

"Eh? Sensei, why do you ask? Of course, I don't."

"How about for the sake of this argument..

have you played any games with him..

like the famous Stellaris Fantasia Online??

"That game? No sensei I'm not playing that."

Wow she's digging the hell out of Yuna.

"Really? Then what do you think of him?"

"Uh... I guess he's cute?"

"Is that so? Well, just so you know, I don't encourage my students to date. You should focus on your studies."

"No, Sensei! I didn't mean it like that! I just think he's cute, but I'm not trying to date him!"

She really did it. Shiori-san just used her teacher's authority to block me from other girls.

"Alright. Sorry for suddenly asking these questions to you Yuna Fuukawa." Shiori-san replied, her tone lighter now.

"By the way, sensei, why did you even asked these questions to me?"

"No! Nothing... it's just that I heard that someone in my class is dating someone so I decided to investigate..."

That question caught Shiori-san off guard.

I waited until Yuna left before stepping out to confront Shiori-san.

I know that the kiss yesterday and that damn wet dream this morning makes me embarrassed to talk to her but

"Shiori-san."

She turned to face me, and for a moment, I felt like I was about to get scolded.

"Haru-kun! Why are you here?"

"I followed you. I thought you might do something reckless."

"Reckless? I was just making sure everything was clear about this 'Yuna' person you mentioned yesterday."

"You didn't have to worry about that. The Yuna earlier is not the Yuna I mentioned yesterday... It's just a coincidence that I fabricated a same name as her."

She stepped closer and grabbed my hand, squeezing it tightly.

"Oh? So you're defending her now? And she even said you're cute, didn't she?"

"Ow, my hand! Stop! Let's just head back to class separately, okay?"

"Fine, fine."

She let go, but then added with a smirk, "Where are you going next?"

"To Class A. I should thank Yuna-san for returning my wallet."

Her eyes narrowed. "Thank her? On what way?"

"By saying thank you. What else?"

"Alright, fine. Go on. But Haru-kun..." She leaned in slightly, her tone softer now. "Don't stay mad at me, okay? I was just... protecting you."

"I'm not mad, but thinking every girl is your rival is a bit much, don't you think?"

Her face softened, and for a moment, she looked flustered. "Maybe so. But..."

And then, a thought that I'm thinking for these past days suddenly crossed my mind.

Should I just say it now?

That... I like her?

"Shiori-san, you don't have to worry because....

I li—"

Before I could finish, she stepped closer, her face just inches from mine. My heart started racing as she placed a finger on my lips.

"If you're going to say something important, you should wait for the right mood and place," she whispered, a playful smile on her face. Her cheeks were slightly pink.

Then she stepped back, adding, "Hurry up and get back to class, or I'll mark you absent for homeroom."

She left me standing there, my heart pounding. That look on her face just now... she's seriously dangerous.

I realized right then and there—I'm completely head over heels for her.

I decided to confess my feelings, no matter what.

I went to Class A, thanked Yuna for returning my wallet, and apologized for any trouble she didn't even realize she avoided.

"Thanks Yuna-san, and I'm sorry"

"Sorry? For what?"

Because you almost get traumatized by a Yandere like what happened to Shino.

When I returned to the classroom, I realized I hadn't gotten my wallet back from Shiori-san.

"Uh, Shiori-sensei, can I have my wallet now?"

She looked at me with a sly grin. "Oh? You've got the nerve to ask me for something after sneaking off for so long? Should I mention this to your parents tomorrow?"

Wait, what?! Is she angry about me thanking Yuna?

"But Shiori-sensei I just went to the bathroom..."

She leaned in and whispered, just loud enough for me to hear, "If you want your wallet back... come to my apartment after school~."

Shiori-san!!!
