As the title suggests, the MC in this story will have the "Return by Death" ability from *Re:Zero*. For those unfamiliar, this ability allows the MC to go back in time to a specific checkpoint whenever they die. However, in this case, the checkpoint is influenced by the MC's regrets—if they die while harboring regrets, they'll return to a moment where they can attempt to resolve them.
In the original *Re:Zero*, this ability resets the MC's physical body and muscle memory, meaning any progress made during a loop is lost. I've decided to change this slightly. In this story, every time the MC dies, they retain their muscle memory and any techniques or jutsu they've learned.
There's a reason for this change: not everyone is Subaru Natsuki, capable of enduring countless deaths for the sake of another. My MC is different.
This story will have **no romance**. The MC isn't a traditional hero but rather a morally neutral individual. They'll treat others based on how they're treated in return—nice to the kind, indifferent or ruthless to the cruel.
Since this story takes place in the Naruto universe, which is complex in its own way (though not as intricate as *Re:Zero*), the MC will require considerable strength. You can't expect them to stop someone like Madara the way Subaru relied on Reinhard.
The MC's Return by Death ability also has limitations:
- They cannot reveal it to anyone.
- Enemies in the Naruto world have numerous ways to prevent or delay their deaths.
However, every time the MC dies, they gain slight resistance to the cause of their death. Additionally, they inherit **10% of the chakra and physical fitness** from all their previous loops, gradually becoming stronger with each death.
This story will focus heavily on gore and the traumatic journey of the MC. It's not going to be an easy read—or an easy story to write. If you've watched or read *Re:Zero*, you'll understand how difficult and emotionally draining this kind of narrative can be.
I'll be taking my time to release chapters to ensure the story is well-written. I'll release the "Read This" note where you can share your advice and suggestions—particularly regarding how to start the story or make any necessary adjustments.
Although I have some ideas I would like your Openion on the start. Currently I'm gathering information on the fight between suna and leaf.
Thank you.
