Chereads / The Tamed And The Untamed / Chapter 3 - Chapter Three.

Chapter 3 - Chapter Three.

A week had already passed since the encounter with the stranger and a lot has been on Charlotte's mind since then and it started affecting her. She was unable to get enough sleep and has been less attentive than usual. She also started skipping meals and her parents were concerned. They tried talking to her but all she could tell them is that she is fine and they need not to worry. She would often go to the garden to try and get some peace for her mind but it did not work. She was ever thinking about that night. 'What if he is lying? What if he was just trying to escape and took advantage of her current situation? No, but he knew about the two quotes that Sam loved. What if he was actually telling me the truth? What else does he know? Does he know that I can speak to the dead? Does he know why I can't speak to Sam? When he comes again should I tell him about my gift? No Sam told me not to tell anyone about it. So what do I do?' All these thoughts kept running in Charlotte's mind. Charlotte was stranded she did not know what to do. She had only one option and that is to hope that Rowan might come back and help her clear the air in her head. 'Wait, am I wishing for someone to break in to my house?' She chuckled at this thought well, she did not have any choice but to wish for that to happen. 'How else am I supposed to meet him and get some answers?'

That is when it hit her his words from that night. 'We need to find the humans or creatures responsible…' 'Wait, that's not possible we live on the side of the district that is only means for humans so why did he mention creatures. Creatures are the one who live on the other side and there is a powerful barrier separating the two districts. So how were the creatures able to kill Sam? This isn't making sense nothing is making sense at all. Argh! why is everything difficult all of a sudden. Where can I even start? I really need answers.'

In a dark area almost lonely area, there is an old castle. From a distance, one might think that it is abandoned but if you look closely you will be able be able to see how heavily guarded it is. The interior was well furnished and the halls were dimly lit by the large red candles. The living room was almost empty. It had a red carpet in the middle with a shade of grey. A small wooden table on top of it. On the sides of the room were red sofa sets and the curtains were also red. The walls were painted black and had shades of grey. Inside, there was seen a man pacing in the hallway looking distressed. Another man then enters the room.

"Rowan! Have you done it yet?" Asked the man "Not yet father but I am almost there."

"Why can't you be more like your sister Astrid. She is a powerful vampire unlike you. You've gotten soft Rowan. Since your mother died you stopped being the vampire you used to be I thought you really wanted to be my heir but you really are just a piece of waste." Said Lyon. The King of the vampires and father to Rowan.

"Don't ever talk about my mother again."

Lyon halted on his tracks and dashed towards Rowan with his vampire speed. "what did you say?" He asked angrily.

"I said don't ever talk about my mother again." Rowan replied firmly.

Before Rowan could process what was happening, a wooden slake was pierced in his stomach.

Never ever forget your place Rowan You are nothing but a mere pawn in this game of chess called life and I am the King. Guards take him out of here I don't want blood staining my carpet." Said Lyon.

Rowan struggled to breath as he was being dragged away from the castle corridor to his room. The guards threw him on the bed then left. 'No no no I need to find help before it gets too serious.' He thought to himself.

He then struggled to reach for a small porch in his secret cabinet that had some portion. He then took it and said a spell then it got him to a place that he was sure it would be safe for him.
