Kyouji blinked and looked around. The room was impossibly white like a void. Endless. Featureless. It was as if reality had been erased.
In front of him stood a man. His skin was white, pale enough to blend with the void itself. His outline seemed to shimmer and fade, barely holding form.
The man grinned. "Welcome!"
Kyouji frowned. "Where am I?"
The man's voice was mesmerizing and echoing, as though it came from everywhere at once. "You are... dead."
Kyouji blinked again. Hard. "Wait, I'm dead?"
"Yes. You created a tear rift with your magic to get here, infinity!"
The man waves. "Either way, see ya!"
"Infinity magic? Wait! Wait!" His vision turns black.
"When the weak band together, the strong must adapt or perish."
—Tribal Wisdom
The next time he opened his eyes, he saw a man and a woman with wolf ears carrying him and playing with him in what seemed to be a castle bedroom.
Are they furries or something? He thought. Hey! Put me down!
"Who's a cute little boy?" The woman said, and she pats his head, "Yes, it's you, Arata!"
Arata? That's not my name... Wait! I see what's going on here. I didn't think it was possible... I've been reincarnated.
"I can't believe you had twins!" The man says, his brow furrowed, eyes wide with disbelief, and his fists clenched at his sides. "How the hell did that even happen?!" Twins?
"I'm leaving!" The man slams the door, and the woman flinches. I'm assuming this is my new mother and father. I can already tell that's gonna be a real pain in the ass.
Arata Mugen, the next heir to the Mugen Kingdom. Ren Mugen is Arata's twin sister and the next princess to the Kingdom.
There are 7 humanoid-type races: bear, lion, wolf, birds, dog, and cat. Ren and Arata are both wolves.
But there was a problem. He didn't have any magic. Every other race had magic... minus the wolves.
Magic uses soul energy. The purer or stronger the soul of the being is, the more they can use magic.
Arata was very quick to learn the language. At just 2 years old, he was reading a book about the history of the wolves.
The bear race raided the wolf kingdom. Even with the wolf's strength in numbers, they were no match against them.
The bears killed almost the entire population. After, they went to the catacombs of the wolf sanctuary. Where the Wolves Soul of Destiny was located, it is what connects all of the wolves souls. The leader took it. He was going to crush it, but then a powerful wolf mage entered. His name was Impor Tante.
He casts a spell, forbidden by all the races. A spell that connects all wolves into the essence of earth itself. Soul Anchor Bond. He perished into oblivion.
The leader smashed it, but the spell prevented others from suffering the same fate as him. Burning into nothingness, being perished.
"Whata load of crap! That white man-god thing told me I had infinity magic! Fucking con-artist!" Arata says, his eyebrows furrowed, beating up the book.
4 years later, both he and his sister are now 6 years old. Practicing swordfighting in the courtyard of their castle.
"Ata! You're so weak you can't even land a hit on me!" Ren says.
"Again, Ren!"
She charges at him and aimlessly swings her sword. He blocks.
Really bad technique. My sister is not cut out to fight.
He dodges back, She charges at him again, dust kicking from her feet, flies into his face, and makes him sneeze, causing a small earthquake. Their mother runs out, worried.
"Ren, Ata, go inside!"
Arata wasn't reincarnated as a normal boy. His strength was out of this world. Even for the stronger races, he kept his strength a secret to everyone, including his family.
He didn't care about his ridiculous amount of strength, though. He only cared about magic.
What type of isekai doesn't give the MC magic?! It's my first day at the academy tomorrow. I gotta get some sleep
The highly esteemed Mugen Academy. It teaches wolves teamwork, combat styles, etc. To put it simply, a strength build's dream. It also has a deticated magic division, but that's only for the dogs.
"ATA WAKE UP!" Ren slaps him, "It's time for school!" She reminds me of that one girl from my previous life.
He slowly gets up. "Emi..."
"Huh?!" She pauses, "Um, I'll be waiting for you at the front entrance of the castle!"
He puts on his gear and puts a random sword in his belt.
"Look at you, with you little... IS THAT YOUR FATHER'S SWORD?! How can you even carry that on your side?! It's like triple your weight!" Oops.
"Here's yours. Put that one where you found it."
My mother hates my father for a lot of reasons. He's a perverted pimp, misogynist, and a straight dumbass. She knows what he's doing but stays with him because she is a gold digger.
She leaves the room, and he unsheathes his father's sword holding it.
Is this really over 150 pounds? I mean, it's massive... maybe if I was this strong in my past life... I could've saved th... nevermind.
"Ata, you're finally ready. C'mon, let's go!"
Arata adjusted the straps of his small travel bag, his gaze distant but focused. Ren, already a step ahead, waved him over with an impatient smile.
On their way to the academy, Arata wasn't paying attention and accidentally bumped into a dogman carrying a bucket. The water spilled everywhere.
"I'm very sorry!" The dog says, bowing his head hastily.
"Uh, no need to, um..."
The dog casts a water spell. The bucket refilled itself almost instantly. Without another word, the dog walked away.
He stared after the man, jealousy bubbling inside. Magic... it's so effortless for them.
"Oi, Ata! Stop staring and c'mon!" Ren grabbed his sleeve, tugging him forward. Arata grumbled but followed her. Soon, the towering gates of the academy loomed before them.
The courtyard was vast and alive. Training areas stretched across the grounds, one for close combat and another for ranged weapons. Targets were riddled with arrows.
Ren's eyes sparkled with excitement, her gaze drinking in every detail. "This is amazing!" she exclaimed, spinning around in awe.
Arata, however, frowned. It reminds him of his school from his past life, an obstacle to his ultimate goals. He sighed and slouched as Ren pulled him forward.
"C'mon, Ata! We're going to be late!"
"I'm going to be just like Dad!" she declared with determination.
Arata raised an eyebrow. "A pimp?"
Ren froze mid-step and whipped around, glaring at him. "No, dummy. I meant his strength!"
A crowd of students suddenly poured into the courtyard, chattering excitedly.
Wait, were we early?
A stern-looking teacher emerged from the main building. She raised her voice, silencing the murmurs. "LINE UP! Stand in the white boxes marked on the ground!"
The students scrambled into position. Arata and Ren took their places.
"The first test is simple," the teacher announced. "I trust you all brought your swords. Perform 100 overheadslashes. Like this." She unsheathed her weapon and demonstrated a fluid, powerful motion.
The test began.
Some students gave up after just ten swings, gasping for breath. Others struggled with poor form. But Arata stood out immediately.
Arata got into the rhythm, his fluid slashes almost meditative, until he forgot to regulate his strength. His next swing was too powerful, sending his sword into an uncontrollable spin.
The weapon's momentum pulled him into the air.
Too much momentum. How do I stop this without hurting other students?
The teacher acted swiftly, casting a spell that froze him in place. She walked over and plucked him from the air.
"You're a dog?" He says.
The teacher smirked. "Yes, I am. And you must weigh nothing if you managed to get flung like that. Interesting." She set him down gently and ruffled his hair before snapping her fingers to dispel the magic.
"Second test! Magic!" the teacher called out. "Wolves, sit this one out."
I should be thankful, y'know, because I'm insanely strong... but for some reason I'm not. It's because of that damn con artist; he said I had magic!
Ren leaned over, her grin wide and mischievous. "Don't look so glum, Ata. You've got me, remember? I'll always have your back!"
Arata's pout deepened. He glanced up at her. She said something nice for once...
Ren ruffled his hair, smirking. "And hey, if anyone bullies you for being the only one with white fur ears, your big sister will deal with them!" She held up her fist confidently. By 2 minutes.
The teacher dismissed the group soon after. "That's it for today! You're free to go!" That's it?
As Arata and Ren turned to leave, the teacher's hand clamped down on Arata's shoulder, stopping him mid-step.
"You can go," she told Ren.
Ren's eyes narrowed slightly. The hint of a frown tugged at her lips, but she didn't speak, only glancing at the teacher with a skeptical look. Still, she complied.
"What do you want?" Arata asked, his tone flat.
The teacher leaned in slightly, lowering her voice. "You're part of the royal family, aren't you?"
"Yes...?"
"Can you introduce me to your father?" She asked, her tone taking a sudden seductive turn. "I just need... a job. Or maybe something else..." She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, batting her eyelashes. WHO the HELL tries to seduce a child!
"Sur..." He says, with a hint of disgust. She interrupts, "Really, thank you, so much!"
His shoulders drooped slightly as he exhaled, a soft sigh escaping him. He rubbed his forehead, annoyed.
"He goes to The Interace Club. Almost every day. You'll probably find him there."
The teacher's face lit up.
He slaps her hand off his shoulder and walks away.
"Wait... isn't that a stripclub?!" Thank you, dad. Your pimpness saved me from a disgusting lady.
He arrives at the castle. Knights welcome him in. He walks over to his mother and father's bedroom to tell them why he is so late to come back home. He slowly opens the door and hears them talking.
"Are you sure about betraying the kingdom to work with the bears?" His mother's voice is soft, laced with concern, but there's an unmistakable firmness behind it.
"Yes." His father's response is cold, deliberate. There's no hesitation in his tone. What?... I'm guessing it's not a good time to tell them.
Slowly, he starts closing the door. A faint creak slices through the tense silence. He freezes, eyes wide, breath held. The moment stretches out.
"What was that?!" His mother's voice cracks, a note of alarm rising in it.
"Go check it out," his father commands. I'm already pretty tired and annoyed, and now this?!
His mother opens the door... However, no one is there. Her eyes narrow, scanning the long hallway from left to right. Still, no one.
Never ran that fast in my life! He is now in his room, sweating and breathing heavily.
I saw a planning board and a map. I'll go check it out at night, when they are sleeping.
5 hours later, Arata stealthily opens his door, making his way over to his parent's room. The hallways were so empty and quiet that Arata could hear his own heartbeat.
Luckily, he was able to make his way over to his parent's room unscathed. He opens the door. His parents weren't there. There was something wrong with the room; it felt strange. He could smell the scent of a flammable oil. He walks over to the bed.
They moved everything about the plan to the bed, and that scent... Wait!
Fire dispersed from the bottom of the bed, burning a hole through it. It was quickly spreading. Hoping it will be helpful, he only takes the map. He hears the footsteps of guards rushing over to the bedroom.
Shit! I got it!
The guards entered the room. A dog guard casts a wind spell, stopping the fire. They found a hole on the roof.
Arata simply jumped. With his incredible strength, he was able to tear through 2 roofs, from the 5th to the 7th floor.
He ran back into his room.
A fire trap, so it burns all the evidence... How stupid are my parents? Just burn it or take it with you. Anyway, this map has a location marked not far from here, called ''transport''. I'm gonna check it out.
He crouches down, looking underneath his bed, and slides a chest towards him. Opening it, there is a replica of his White Wolf outfit from his previous life, but in better condition and smaller. He puts it on.
He opens his window and jumps off of it.
I wish I could have done this in my previous life and not had died.
He lands, breaking the floor, then rushes toward the location. Upon arrival, he leaps to the roof, spotting a window. Inside the horse stable are 10 wolves, with 2 wagons outside.
He breaks through the window.
Arata landed with a resounding crash. Dust and debris flew up, cloaking his entrance in a dramatic cloud. He wasted no time. His legs propelled him forward with explosive force toward the group of wolves.
One of them looks back, his face twisting in confusion. "Is that... a kid?"
"Either that or he's a midget," another snorted, their laughter echoing through the stable.
Their amusement was short-lived.
Arata's kick connected with the closest wolf's chest, his foot sinking into the man's torso. The wolf's body snapped backward, his ribcage collapsing inward before his momentum sent him crashing into the wall. His body exploded, smearing his blood on the wall.
The laughter died instantly.
All they're eyes widen. "It's the latter! He's a strong ass midget!"
It's the former!
They all start to flee. Arata didn't give them the chance. His body blurred as he dashed through the group with terrifying speed, his strikes swift and precise. Each move was devastating, a fist slamming into a skull, sending shards of bone and brain matter scattering; a spinning kick cleaving another wolf clean in two. Blood sprayed like a crimson storm, painting the stable in red.
Within moments, eight bodies lay lifeless, their forms barely recognizable amid the carnage. The air was thick with the stench of iron and the eerie silence of death.
The last wolf trembled, frozen in place. His wide, terrified eyes followed Arata's every move as the boy approached.
Arata grabs the man by his collar and lifts him effortlessly.
"What's the plan?!" Arata demands, shaking him.
"Um... We're just transport! We don't know, I swear!" A drop of sweat drops from his chin.
Arata punches a whole through his stomach. "Ahh! I swarrr, please!!"
"Tell the truth."
"Ok, ok, ok, ok, ok, ok."
"STOP SAYING OK!"
"To assassinate Arata Mugen... and Ren Mugen."
"When?!" Blood spills from the wolf's wound. "Right now, please don't kill me!"
"Why?!"
The wolf's eyes roll back. "For the bear's trust... we want to work with the bears!" The wolf bleeds out and dies.
It's happening right now, that means Ren...!
