Prologue

I am Tianxu.

Let me take you into my world for a moment. I live on a planet called Eternis (pronounced: Eh-TER-nis).

As I stroll through the crowded streets, I see families laughing, children running around, and parents chatting. It's one of those moments where everything seems perfect, and I know what you're thinking:

"Alright, everything looks fine... But what's the catch? Does he have no parents?"

No, I have parents. I have siblings too. But that's beside the point. Mom's waiting, and I'm already late.

Today is the 5th of October, 2108, according to the Zenith Calendar. It's the Mid-Autumn Festival—or, as we call it here, the Moon Festival.

The streets are alive with bright lights, lanterns drifting through the air, and the scent of mooncakes filling every corner. It's impossible not to smile in a moment like this.

"Today feels perfect, doesn't it?" I think to myself. The lights are so warm, making everything feel like part of a beautiful dream.

The energy in the air is electric—everything is just... right. Maybe it's the festival magic, or maybe I'm just in a good mood.

I always get delayed talking to people. Now it's already half past 7, and I can hear a song playing through the air:

"The king on the run,

Chasing the stars,

The world left behind,

Shattered by scars."

"The night is long,

The darkness calls,

And in the silence,

A kingdom falls."

I can hear you thinking, "What's going on? Why this song at the Moon Festival, of all places, when everyone's laughing and celebrating?"

But hey, there are always exceptions, right? Like that strange street drama being performed a little further down.

The energy is still vibrant in the air, but something shifts. The lights flicker for a moment, and I feel the atmosphere grow heavier.

Suddenly, the sound of laughter dies down. Everything... goes still.

I stop, my heart racing, and mutter under my breath, "What the hell is happening?"

The street I've been walking down is now eerily quiet. It feels like the whole world has just... frozen. The lights above seem to flicker, like the very air is holding its breath.

And then I hear it.

A voice.

It doesn't sound human. It doesn't sound mechanical.

It feels ancient.

It feels... powerful.

["Welcome, O Weavers."]

The entire world seems to hold its breath. Every person, every living thing, seems to have heard that voice.

The words echo across the streets, wrapping themselves around every corner of the planet. It's as if the very air has shifted with the weight of the message.

The voice doesn't stop. It continues, its echo filling the atmosphere, resonating in the hearts of everyone.

["I, the Will of Planet Aeternis, or Eternis as you call it,

Announce the Starting of The Veil of Fates."]

[THE VEIL OF FATES HAS BEGUN.]

I freeze. Everyone else does too. There's a moment of silence that feels like it stretches for an eternity. The world has just... changed.

"What just happened?" I whisper to myself, but I already know the answer.

The air feels thick, heavy with the weight of something unfolding. Something immense. Something unavoidable.

"The Veil of Fates..." I repeat the words, my voice shaking. The world around me still looks the same, but I can feel it—something is different now.

This is just the beginning. I know it.

Something big is coming—something that will change everything.
