In the Metropolitan Museum of Art, a young highschooler walks around enjoying his time during a school field trip, seeing the grand pieces of art and the unique architecture of the museum. The guide blabbing on about some of the history behind the art, but he really doesn't care about it, he's just glad he has time away from school from this trip.
A very strong, very pungent smell fills the air. Making a few of the kids physically gag in disgust, and cover their noses. "Damnit.. the vents mustn't have been cleaned recently." The guide says while covering his nose slightly, blocking out most of the pungent smell.
Kuro looks upward towards the vents, he sees a ghoul hanging onto the ceiling, it's grotesque and gross form looking into his eyes- like it was reading his soul. He audibly gasps and a few students look upward to see what he's looking at, but they see nothing at all.
His friend Matt, who can also see the ghoul for some reason turns to him. "You- you see that too right, Kuro?" He mutters out towards him. Kuro nods his head slowly, responding quickly. "Yes- what is that thing?"
Time seems to freeze, everyone around them stops suddenly the ghoul looks a bit worried and scurries off the roof onto the ground. Matt and Kuro are the only ones who seem to not be unaffected by the sudden "time stop."
A large wave of invisible pressure hits them, and the Ghoul, the ghoul shaking from this pressure and stands up on its hind legs. A humanoid being with a pink and white kimono, long curly brown hair and a sword in her hands appears. "Lower class Ghoul, give your life up already you foul beast! Can't have you causing harm to these humans."
The ghoul opens its mouth, a blinding red light appearing from it. A large blast of mana shoots out towards the humanoid being, which the lady easily deflects into the roof, the roof now having a large hole through it. The lady dangles her sword from its circle end of its hilt, unique to that sword, and upon seeing it, the Ghouls vision flips upside down.
"Welcome to vertigo, you disgusting ghoul." She laughs a bit. "My sealed soul sword can cause vertigo to anyone in my immediate distance, and you so happen to be within that range." She flash steps towards the ghoul, easily slicing its head clean off, purifying it. The ghouls soul appears briefly before dissipating into the air.
She turns her head towards a table that Matt and Kuro are hiding behind, which they snuck behind when she arrived, being outside of her range they didn't experience any vertigo. "You two, come out. I know you're there," She says loudly.
Matt and Kuro slowly stand abroad, showing themselves from behind the table. "Miss- uh ma'am- please don't hurt us, we don't mean any trouble!" Matt pleads nervously. The lady squints towards the two boys, slightly confused. "I'm here to bring you to the Realm of Souls, where you were supposed to be, before that retched man stole you away and brought you to this godforsaken rock."
Kuros eyes widen slightly. "What? The Realm of Souls, listen lady- We don't even know your name and you're trying to take us away from Earth?"
She sighs and shakes her head slightly. "My name is irrelevant- but if you insist it is Charlotte Blue. And this matter is one of much urgency and need, we need to bring you back to the Realm of Souls to your true family, and fulfill your destiny." Her curly hair a bit messy from the quick battle with the weak ghoul.
Kuro and Matt speak hurriedly at the same time, their voices booming over each others. "But our families- what about them!"
Charlotte sighs once more. "Your family on earth aren't your real family, why would you care for them? And anyways, you can see them again later, it's not like it'll be the last you'll see of them." She opens a gate to the heart of the Realm of Souls, Soul City.
Kuro and Matt follow her into the gate to the Realm of Souls.
