"Then, you must be thinking how I've got this, right?" Rachel was showing off her ring but Crystal was not in a position to respond as she was trying to digest all the information she heard.
"Tsk.. Tsk.. Tsk... Looks like you're not in a condition to respond, I'll tell you myself, your dear aunt and cousin helped me in this."
Crystal eyes widened in disbelief "This can't be! They can't do this!..."
Rachel interrupted her "They can, in fact they did, they always knew that You are Wayne's family's weakness and your weakness was Lucas!"
Then she got up from the chair and started to move around her. "When the whole Wayne family was busy finding you, your aunt set a stage making everyone believe that this kidnapping incident can be life threatening to Lucas while Lucas believed that his mentioning this incident will affect his family. In those two years, when you were in another country for recovery purposes, your aunt was playing her cards here."
After hearing all this, there was a fire of betrayal and hatred in her heart, she tried to free her hands by moving her wrist and flexing her thumb which was unnoticed by Rachel, who was busy speaking.
"And then she brought me into your lives and when I saw Lucas I fell for him so I agreed to help her and with that ring I made him believe that I was the girl who saved him and you aunt helped me in all this then according to the plan I requested him to let me study abroad for my career."
Saying this she sat down by bending her one knee beside Crystal, who stiffened "Do you know that all those years why he kept his engagement with you even when I came into his life?"
Crystal looked at her as she continued "Because I told him to do so, he was using you like a shield for us so that no one can take my place, which you played very well and for marrying that man you fought with everyone, with your own family."
Tears of regret fell from Crystal's eyes as she remembered how everyone stopped her from marrying Lucas but she didn't listen to them.
