__________
She was immersed in the joy of becoming the mother of all once again, but tears of pain and sorrow fell from her eyes.
Because they were her children—the ones who abandoned her and killed her, yet she still loved them deeply. They were her children.
Though she loved them with all her heart, she had to kill them due to the curse of her primal instincts. Even though she hated them, she didn't want to hurt them and bound herself with these emotional shackles.
She is a collection of contradictions. She cannot receive love, and she doesn't know how to hate. In the end, she is shattered by love and doomed by hatred.
Soon, the battle, which had seemed one-sided, was reversed. She was burned by the sun god's flint, bound by chains connecting heaven and earth, eroded by the authority of the underworld, and entranced by the illusory demon flower.
In the end, her wings were severed by the incarnation of death, she lost her eternal immortality, and fell under the relentless firepower of the heroes.
She lost. She lost to the weak children who yearned to survive, and lost to the spiral of love and hatred within her.
The final glance revealed a girl so thin she was almost invisible, so weak she was almost imperceptible.
Her orange-red hair burned like a fire, and in her eyes, there was a firm, indomitable will.
She longed to live, no matter what. And what about you? What do you long for?
The Mother Goddess was defeated, and in the end, she had no idea what she had done wrong.
Were all her mistakes simply because they didn't love her?
This is the story of a great hero's journey, a grand epic of gods and heroes overcoming disasters and securing the future.
At the same time, this is the tale of a humble mother—a loser who was abandoned, sought revenge, and was ultimately defeated. It is the sorrowful story of her blood and tears being shed.
This loser, this mother, whose name is—
"Mother, what's wrong? Did you have a nightmare?" Aya was awakened by a gentle voice, only to find her eyes filled with tears.
What a strange dream! As she thought about it, someone reached out to wipe away her tears. The touch was gentle and reassuring.
"Mother, you must be tired. Why don't you sleep a little longer?" The soft voice was like a lullaby, and coupled with the soft pillow, Aya nearly drifted back to sleep.
'Wait, who's talking?' Pulled back by the last bit of rationality as she hovered between sleep and wakefulness, Aya tried to open her drowsy eyes.
"This must be a dream." She glanced carefully at her surroundings before closing her eyes without hesitation. Yes, it had to be a dream. When she woke up, everything would return to normal.
What a ridiculous dream, "Really, I actually dreamed that I was lying on the plump, tight thighs of a white-haired, animal-eared girl, and she was calling me her daughter? Where did this perverted otaku dream come from?"
"It's not a dream, Mother." Aya wasn't asleep. She pinched her thigh. Her physical defense was so high that the pinch didn't hurt, but she could still feel it faintly.
"If this is really not a dream, then what exactly happened? Is reality crazy, or am I?"
"Oh, is Mother awake?" Another animal-eared girl entered, pushing the door open. She was holding a frying pan, and more surprisingly, she wore nothing but a naked apron.
"Mother, do you want to eat? Take a bath? Or…" The girl said as she touched her boobs seductively.
"Wait, I don't want to eat anything—well, no, I do want breakfast… No, no." Aya was completely confused.
"Can you please explain who you are and what happened?" She asked, still trying to make sense of the situation.
"Please get up from your lap when you say that." If anyone else were present, they might have made such a complaint, but the two girls simply smiled, watching Aya lazily lounging before them.
"YGGDRASIL" was based on Norse mythology, and compared to other DMMO-RPGs at the time, it offered unusually wide player freedom. With more than 2,000 basic professions and races, including both basic and advanced classes, it allowed for great player customization.
Classic RPG races such as humans, elves, dwarves, orcs, and undead, as well as their advanced forms, were the first choice for most players.
Regarding professions, most players followed the classic roles like warriors, mages, priests, and thieves, often evolving them based on their own interpretations. This was the typical choice for casual players.
However, not all players were ordinary. There were ultra-hardcore players who sought extreme combat effectiveness, tireless collectors of rare races and professions, and deep players who invested far more time and money than most.
It was these players who discovered rare and even hidden variants of races and classes.
The most prominent among these were the powerful and unique classes with the prefix "World," such as the "World Champion," "World Disaster," and "World Guardian."
Among Aya's previous companions were Takimi, the World Champion, and Ulbert, the World Disaster. Both were core players—the strongest warrior and mage in the team.
In addition to the powerful world professions, there were also special races and professions that emerged from players' extraordinary character development methods. In some ways, their rarity surpassed that of the world professions, and they might even be considered unique within the game.
Aya had previously encountered two such races. One was her gaming partner, Flying Squirrel, who had maximized the necromancy and instant-death systems, creating the "strongest instant-death" class, [Eclipse].
The other was Aya herself, who maximized the racial bonuses of the life system, creating the "strongest summoning system" race, the [Mother Goddess of Life].
This class sacrificed a lot of levels but provided outstanding buffs, including additional summoning times, higher summoned creature levels, greater range and strength, and two powerful racial talents.
One such talent was [Sea of Life], which allowed Aya to create permanent summoned creatures under specific conditions. These creatures would be level 80 and above and would have stats surpassing those of ordinary summoned beings. Additionally, they would benefit from buffs applied to Aya.
On the first day Aya arrived in this world, her race's inherent characteristics activated [Sea of Life], draining the vitality of all the nearby werewolves.
"So, we were born." The animal-eared girl in an apron knelt across from the wooden table and explained the whole situation.
"I thought I only activated [Global Life Drain] at that time." Aya reflected on her mistake, sighing as she took a bite of bread, then fish.
"After ten hours of gestation, we were born from your Temple of Life. We found our mother's position using the coordinates. We rushed here without delay to serve her." The girl opposite her smiled brightly, which made Aya feel uneasy.
"When we arrived, our mother was sleeping, so we cleaned and cooked first. I hope Mother is pleased." The girl continued.
"Serving and such…" In Aya's previous life, her mother died from illness before she could remember, and Aya herself never reached an age where she could become a mother. As such, she never experienced a normal mother-daughter relationship.
'Is this what a normal mother-daughter relationship feels like?'
Aya waved her hand to open a floating window. There was still no exit button, which was expected. She clicked on the "Follower" section. The original elven dragon and dryad had disappeared, replaced by two new names:
[Demihuman-1 (Warrior)]
[Demihuman-2 (Mage)]
They had been summoned from the Temple of Life, using [Transfer] based on the coordinates. Aya figured out that the ring on her left finger, which she had put on recently, was the medium connecting her to the Temple of Life.
The time limit on the elf dragon and dryad had passed, and the two new followers were these two animal-eared girls.
Twins—what a rare case! Aya's gamer instincts stirred briefly, but her confusion over the situation was still overwhelming.
