First Inventions

Her, the Satan Leviathan, doing plumber work? What kind of madness is this!?

Well, she wasn't exactly doing the work of a plumber, but it was as close as it gets! From placing pipes in specific locations to adjusting water pressure, she had never done anything like this before.

But the moment her... Master... that brat, told her how useless she was, the Satan Leviathan decided to just suck it up and do the job!

A few days later, she was finally done. His underground garage now had working water! The consequences of her actions? She was now behind on her work!

She missed several meetings, and Serafall no doubt had several piles of documents and paperwork waiting for her...

"Are we done here? Please, just let me go! I promise I will be a good devil!" Serafall practically kneeled in front of her Master. She couldn't remember the last time she begged for anything.

But at this point, she had to! There was so much work to catch up on, and she was way behind schedule!

"Fine. Come back to me when you have several hours of free time," Marcus said with a commanding tone, and Serafall nearly smiled at hearing it.

Finally! Some freedom!

"I understand! I will return to you when I can!" The black-haired devil replied happily, thinking she could return when she decided the timing was right.

"No. You will return the moment all the important work is done. Not just when you can."

Tsk

The Satan Leviathan clicked her tongue in frustration. Her master was prepared for this.

"Fine… I will do just that."

"You are not my first devil, Serafall. I've had practice with Venelana. Watch this." Marcus got into position, preparing to ask her something.

"Serafall, are you planning on spreading any information about my existence?" he asked with a smile.

"Of course I am! Your existence is one of the worst things that could happen to the Devil Race!" The moment Serafall said this, she slapped her hand over her mouth, trying to stop the words from spilling out.

"That will be a mistake. Remember? My life is tied to yours. If you spill the beans, other factions will eventually learn about this. And two, you forget that you can't in any way spread the information. I've programmed your thought process so that you can't consciously or unconsciously think about spreading the word. Instead of blocking the thoughts, I've made it so that you can't even think of them," I explained casually.

"Did you just say you have Venelana Gremory as your first devil pillar?" Serafall asked, eyes wide with disbelief. "When? How? The brown-haired devil lady is the mother of the current Lucifer!"

"She was nearly with me for a whole year," I replied nonchalantly.

Serafall felt despair rise in her gut. Just how powerful was this Ars Goetia? She had even met Venelana during that time! And yet, she felt nothing was wrong with her at all!

"It seems you understand now?" I asked with a kind smile.

The smile reminded Serafall of the devils of old and the stories she grew up hearing.

Resigned Sigh

"I understand. Master, as long as you are not plotting anything against my race, I won't try to find my way out of this. Can we agree on that?"

In the end, Serafall decided that her race took priority over her personal feelings.

"Indeed, we can have that deal. My hobby and lifestyle revolve around crafting and tinkering. As long as I can get things for my craft, I won't interfere with your race. The only reason I summoned Venelana was because she was a Bael and a member of the Great King House. I summoned you because of your water manipulation and the strength of an Ultimate-Class Devil."

'I see… So he's like Ajuka. This is both good news and bad news. The good news is that he won't care about Devil Politics, which is also the bad news.

I need to establish some ground rules. Easier said than done, especially from such a weak position…'

Serafall quickly realized she could use secrecy against him as well.

"I see… then we have an understanding? As Satan Leviathan, I have a very busy schedule. If you summon me during a meeting, or worse, when I'm meeting with other Pantheon members, it would be a disaster," the black-haired devil said seriously.

"Indeed. This is where we'll use our mental link."

"Our... what?" Serafall asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Ars Goetia bound you to me. I can feel your emotions to a certain degree and..." Marcus paused, then started speaking directly into her head.

This made the Satan Leviathan gulp nervously.

Such power over her was terrifying. No wonder Solomon was such a top-class taboo secret.

When Serafall first heard stories about this human mage, she thought he was just a boogeyman used to scare devils into preying less on humans, or else Solomon would enslave them.

Turns out he was so real that she had ended up as one of his Pillars—well, not the original one, but still his successor.

"I see. Then... please, ask me mentally first before summoning me, alright? The less people know about this, the better for you, yes?" Serafall asked cautiously, taking advantage of his desire for secrecy.

"Very well. We have a deal."

"My thanks, Master." Serafall bowed before calling forth her Leviathan circle and disappearing from his workshop.

Once she was gone, Marcus looked at his work table.

"It's time… for some tinkering." He was nearly bouncing with excitement at the thought of it!

At first, I decided to work on some basic trigger-based weaponry.

Starting from the very basics and building it up from there, once the system was finished, I could work on bigger and better things—like adding elemental effects and so on.

After preparing the neutral clay material, I flattened it out into paper-thin sheets and spread it evenly across the table.

Once that was done, I began drawing the runic circles. The first one reacted to motion, absorbing it and sending the energy into the second circle, which converted it into magic.

Once the transformation of energy into magical energy was complete, it flowed into the accelerator circles, gaining more power. It then passed through the magnifying circles to amplify the effect before reaching the final release circles.

After finishing with the runes, the thin paper-like clay was now filled with circles.

The system for shooting magic was done. Now all I needed to do was give it a form.

The most obvious form was a gun.

Alarm clock

"Hmm? It's already 17:00? Damn, this stuff is time-consuming…" I muttered to myself as I looked at the work I had laid out on the table.

"But first… some food."
