The air at Marineford was thick with tension, the sea churning beneath the countless ships that circled the battlefield. The sounds of cannon fire and clashing blades echoed across the island as the battle raged on. But for Thorfinn, it was no longer just the chaos of war that consumed him—he had a far more personal battle to fight.
The roar of battle was drowned out by the heavy steps of approaching figures. Sengoku, the fleet admiral of the Marines, stood tall with his imposing presence, his golden eyes locked on Thorfinn. At his side were Kizaru and Aokiji, the two other Admirals—each a force of nature in their own right. The aura they emitted was so heavy it seemed to crush the very air around them. Their intentions were clear: they weren't here for a casual encounter.
Thorfinn had felt their presence before they even appeared, the weight of their power bearing down on him. His grip tightened on the hilts of his swords, Emma and Ame no Habakiri, as his eyes narrowed in determination. His crew was back on the ship, far away from the battlefield, and this was his fight to take. He would protect them, and he would show the Marines what it meant to challenge a Lunarian with the strength of his will.
"You," Sengoku's voice rumbled across the battlefield, full of authority and disdain. "You dare interfere with the Marineford War. Do you know the cost of your actions?"
Thorfinn stood tall, the wind whipping around him as the battle continued in the background. His eyes were filled with a mix of fury and unwavering resolve. "I don't care about your rules, Sengoku. I won't let you kill Ace."
The words were met with a deep, mocking laugh from Kizaru, the Admiral of Light. His arms were crossed as his laid-back tone contrasted with the intensity of the situation. "You're brave, kid. But you don't seem to understand who you're facing. It's the Marines, and we're here to end this little rebellion."
Aokiji, the cool and calculated Admiral of Ice, narrowed his eyes, his icy demeanor unshaken by the conflict. "You're playing a dangerous game, Thorfinn. But I have no interest in playing by the rules either." He summoned his Hie Hie no Mi, freezing the air around them, causing the ground beneath to crack and shimmer with frost.
The three of them stood before him—Sengoku, the fierce leader of the Marines; Kizaru, the light-speed fighter; and Aokiji, the icy embodiment of cold destruction. But Thorfinn stood undeterred, his Conqueror's Haki swirling within him, ready to tear through the air itself.
Sengoku's eyes gleamed as he activated his Haki, his imposing figure glowing with immense power. "Let's see what you've got, kid. Show us how long you can last."
Without warning, Sengoku advanced, his speed deceptively fast for his large frame. He swung his enormous golden staff, Shinryu, with crushing force, aiming to strike down the young pirate. But Thorfinn's instincts kicked in—he could feel the pressure of the attack before it even reached him.
Soru! Thorfinn moved with lightning speed, evading Sengoku's staff by inches, his body flowing like water as he danced around the massive strike. His swords glinted in the sunlight as he used Kenjutsu, his swordsmanship honed over years of practice. With a single, precise slash, he cut through the air, aiming for Sengoku's exposed side. But Sengoku, with his decades of experience, deflected the blow effortlessly with his staff.
"Impressive," Sengoku said, his voice cold and calculating. "But you can't escape us all."
Before Thorfinn could react, Kizaru appeared in a flash of light, his body shifting like a beam of pure brilliance. His speed was incomprehensible, his attacks coming from all directions in mere moments. The force of his strikes could burn through steel, his Light-Light Fruit making him a blur to Thorfinn's eyes.
"Gotcha," Kizaru smirked as he shot forward, aiming a rapid Yata no Kagami-like blast at Thorfinn, but Thorfinn was already moving—Tekkai (Iron Body) activated, and his own Haki flooded through his body, hardening his defenses. The attack collided with him, but his body stood firm, the energy rebounding off him as he launched forward with a brutal slash.
The air split around him as his swords cut through the light. Emma and Ame no Habakiri shimmered with power, and Kizaru narrowed his eyes in recognition of Thorfinn's growing strength. "Not bad. But let's see how you handle this!"
Thorfinn, without missing a beat, summoned his wings. Lunarian Power surged through his veins, and two powerful wings of dark flames erupted from his back, engulfing the air with a blaze of light and shadow. The wings allowed him to lift off the ground, soaring into the sky as the battle raged beneath him.
"I don't need to be on the ground to fight," Thorfinn shouted, his voice echoing in the wind. His wings beat with incredible force, sending waves of air crashing through the Marines below. "You'll have to catch me if you want to stop me."
Aokiji responded first, his ice crackling as he raised his hand. The temperature dropped, and in an instant, the sky was filled with massive glaciers shooting toward Thorfinn. But Thorfinn was ready. With a roar, he swung Emma in a wide arc, unleashing a shockwave of Haki that shattered the ice mid-air. The debris fell like snow as Thorfinn shot through the sky, moving like a comet in the midst of a storm.
"You'll have to do better than that, Aokiji!" Thorfinn called down to him, his voice booming.
But Sengoku wasn't far behind. He leapt into the air, his giant staff raised, intent on crushing Thorfinn from above. The weight of Sengoku's attack caused the air to crackle with energy. With a mere thought, Thorfinn twisted his body mid-air, dodging the downward strike by inches. The staff narrowly missed, crashing into the ground and leaving a massive crater.
The battle raged on in the sky above Marineford, with Kizaru, Sengoku, and Aokiji all fighting Thorfinn with relentless precision. But Thorfinn's wings, his swords, and his mastery of Haki kept him in the fight. Every time one of the Admirals would launch an attack, Thorfinn would respond with a swift, calculated strike, either deflecting or dodging with his Soru and Tekkai.
He fought with the precision of a seasoned warrior, his Kenjutsu and Haki Swordplay a perfect synergy as he clashed with the might of the Marines. Each attack from Kizaru or Sengoku was met with a defense that seemed impossible, and each of Aokiji's icy blasts was shattered by Thorfinn's overwhelming will.
For every attack they launched, Thorfinn countered with unrelenting force. His wings propelled him faster than they could keep up, his blades cutting through the air like a storm. Even Kizaru's light-speed movements couldn't overwhelm the sheer will that radiated from Thorfinn. And for the first time, Sengoku, Kizaru, and Aokiji realized something—they were facing a warrior unlike any other.
In the end, as the battle drew to a temporary halt, Thorfinn landed lightly on the ground, his wings retracting with a final burst of flame. His breath was steady, his face determined. The three Admirals stood, eyes filled with respect and wariness. They knew this battle was far from over—but for the moment, they had been unable to bring him down.
Thorfinn raised his swords and spoke, his voice echoing in the charged air. "If you want to stop me, you'll have to try harder."
