Peverell Beach House, Cornwall, 6/13/1992, 12:49
Harry and the rest of his family stepped into the house dressed in their finest robes. They were just returning after the funeral service for Ted.
Harry made his way over to the coat rack and hung his outer robes up while Bella herded the kids upstairs to change out of their dress robes. After kicking off his dragonhide boots, Harry made his way to his favourite chair and plopped into it letting out a relieved sigh as he relaxed for the first time since leaving the house this morning.
Today had been rough on everyone involved. Ted was well-liked in the community and his death had devastated many.
There were a lot of Ted's friends and coworkers from St Mungo's at the funeral as well as his sister and her family.
A surprising amount of purebloods turned up as well and just about every member of the Black family was in attendance making it clear that Ted had been accepted into the family he had married into.
Harry, Susan, and Draco were there as well. The three of them looked to still be in shock at learning their Uncle Ted had passed away. Andromeda had agreed to wait until the kids had returned from school to lay him to rest so the whole family could be there to pay their respects.
The kids hadn't even known Ted had been killed until they got home yesterday evening. Sirius and Narcissa thought it was something they should be told in person and had told them last night.
Andromeda had been very subdued acting almost numb for the past week. She had made it through the ceremony okay but she completely fell apart when the pallbearers set the coffin next to the open grave. Narcissa had tried to comfort her as the coffin was lowered into the ground but Andromeda was inconsolable and was led away by Narcissa as soon as the grave was covered.
Tonks had been very quiet since arriving here. She had also been training constantly and had started joining him for his morning training. According to Sirius, she had also been going to the ministry to use the auror training facility to train with the off-duty aurors during the afternoon.
Harry knew that he was going to have to say something to her soon. He could tell that she was pushing herself to near magical exhaustion in her training and sometimes she came out of the floo and collapsed onto the couch seeming almost delirious.
For the life of him, Harry had no idea what he could say that would actually get through to her. If he was in her position he would probably handle things the same way but he knew he was going to have to do something.
Harry was pulled from his thoughts when the fireplace flared up in green flames before Andromeda stepped out looking to have calmed considerably.
You look better," Harry said as he looked up at her.
"Cissa gave me a calming draft, it was the only way I could make it through the reception," Andi shrugged.
The reception had been held at Andromeda's home in Reading so Harry could understand why that had been hard for her. Narcissa had tried to talk her out of holding it there but Andi was adamant that the reception be held where Ted spent most of his time.
"I am just glad that is over with," Andi muttered as she took off her outer robes and hung them up before taking a seat on the sofa.
"So am I," Bella said as she stepped back into the sitting room dressed in a lavender toga.
"Daddy, why were Harry, Draco, Susan, and Daffy's hair blue?" Carina asked as she stepped into the sitting room wearing shorts and a tee shirt with Citrine curled around her neck.
"You know, I was wondering about that myself," Andromeda said thoughtfully.
"Draco said it was a prank," Iggy said as he followed his sister into the room also dressed in shorts and a tee shirt.
"It was," Harry chuckled as the kids sat down on either side of Andromeda while Bella perched herself on the arm of his chair.
"Oh?" Andi asked.
"Harry set up a prank but he made a mistake with the dye. From what Minerva told me, just about every student at Hogwarts will have blue hair for the next month," Harry explained.
"Sirius' influence no doubt," Bella giggled.
"Probably," Andromeda agreed.
"Well little Harry is not well-liked by the student body right about now," Harry said with a shake of his head.
"How did he do it?" Iggy asked with interest.
"I'm not telling you that, you'll just try and copy him," Harry snorted.
"And to think, you used to help Nymphadora with her pranks," Andi said the corners of her lips twitching.
"And I paid for that, no thanks to you," Harry chuckled.
"Ted thought those pranks were hilarious. He actually talked me out of grounding her all summer for those bouncy wards she set up in her second year," Andi said with a fond smile.
"Ted got to see the first bouncy ward I set up," Harry said remembering that time by the pool on Black Island.
"I know, he told me about it when I was ranting to him about my irresponsible brother-in-law setting those wards up on the beach," Andi admitted.
"Speaking of the pink-haired miscreant, where is she?" Bella asked.
"She went to see her little boyfriend," Andi said sounding disapproving.
"I hope Tonks doesn't have a baby," Carina muttered worriedly.
"What do you mean, Princess?" Harry asked in alarm.
"Astoria heard that if a boy and girl are alone together too long, they could make a baby," Carina explained.
"That's it, I am going to have a word with Jonathan, about his daughter corrupting mine!" Harry exclaimed sounding a bit dramatic even to his own ears.
"Calm down, Harry," Bella giggled.
"Older pureblood families used to teach that philosophy to their children," Andi said sounding almost amused herself.
"I still don't like it," Harry grumbled.
"Would you rather explain to her where babies really come from?" Bella smirked.
"No, not until she's thirty," Harry said shuddering at the thought of having that conversation with either of his children.
"Where do babies really come from?" Carina asked curiously.
"Andi, what are you planning to do now?" Harry asked ignoring his daughter's question.
"I've been talking with Narcissa, I think that I am going to move in with her when you lot leave for Italy," Andromeda said softly.
"You're more than welcome to stay here or come with us for that matter," Harry offered.
"No, I don't want to be alone and I have imposed on you enough," Andi said giving him a warm smile.
"You're family, it really isn't an imposition," Harry assured her.
"Well all the same, you have a full house and Cissa wants me to help her with her etiquette lessons," Andi admitted.
"So you're not going back to your practice?" Harry asked in surprise.
"No, my heart's not really in it anymore," Andi shrugged.
Before Harry could reply, Tonks stepped into the room looking happier than Harry had seen her since last summer.
"Nymphadora, you look better," Andi said as she looked at her daughter curiously.
"Charlie took me to the dragon reserve," Tonks admitted as she took a seat in between her mother and Carina.
"Sounds romantic," Harry snorted.
"It was, it helped take my mind off of... Dad," Tonks said softly.
"Ted wouldn't want you moping about over him," Andi said her eyes starting to tear up.
"I know, I just can't believe he's really gone," Tonks muttered as she looked down at her lap.
"Kids, why don't you go play in your room for a bit," Harry suggested getting an idea.
The twins didn't argue and gave their father a nod before they left the sitting room. Harry waited until he heard them climbing the steps before he spoke.
"Andi, did you ever read the Tale of the Three Brothers?" Harry asked as he slipped his lord's ring off of his finger.
"Of course, it gave me nightmares when I was a little girl," Andi said looking confused by the question.
"Well as I told your sisters, that story is based on the three Peverell brothers. The objects in the story are real too," Harry said as he rose from his seat and offered Andi the ring.
"You don't mean..." Andi trailed off as she studied the capstone of his ring and saw the Peverell mark etched into the stone.
"I do. All you have to do is just turn the stone three times and think about who you wish to see," Harry instructed as he offered Bella his hand.
"I don't know if I want to," Andi admitted.
"It's up to you, I am just giving you the option. We'll give you two some privacy," Harry said before he led Bella out onto the deck.
"I have never seen you use that stone," Bellatrix said as they sat down on the outside couch.
"I used it on our wedding day so Sirius could talk to my parents one last time," Harry admitted.
"But you never use it to talk to them?" Bella asked as she rested her head on his shoulder.
"No, they are at peace. I just hope talking to Ted one last time will give Andi and Tonks some peace," Harry said as he watched the waves crashing against the shore.
"We are going to make Voldemort suffer for hurting my sister," Bella said softly.
"Oh you can bet on that, Luv," Harry muttered as the door opened and Andi stepped onto the deck tears streaming down her cheeks but she had a smile on her face.
"Thank you, Harry. You have no idea how much this means to me," Andromeda sniffed before she pulled him to his feet and hugged him tightly.
"You're welcome," Harry said as she pulled back and offered him his ring.
"So that really is the resurrection stone?" Andi asked as she watched him slip his ring back on his finger.
"It is, I figured it may help you to be able to say goodbye," Harry said as Tonks came out onto the deck and hugged Harry tightly.
"Dad said to tell you thank you," Tonks sniffled into his chest.
Before Harry could do more than rub Tonks' back comfortingly, Sirius stepped onto the deck with Edgar in tow.
"Hello Sirius," Harry said as Tonks released him and hastily wiped the tears from her eyes.
"I hope you don't mind us dropping by but there is an order meeting this afternoon and I was wondering if you would mind watching the brat for me," Sirius said by way of greeting.
"Oi, I'm not that bad, Dad," Edgar exclaimed sounding highly insulted.
"That depends. Are you going to behave yourself this time, Edgar?" Bellatrix asked as she looked at the seven-year-old questioningly.
"I promise to behave myself, Auntie Bella," Edgar said giving her a winning smile that was reminiscent of his father.
"Don't try and charm me boy, I grew up with your father, and I know what that smile means," Bella said, the corners of her mouth twitching.
"Where is Harry at?" Harry asked as Edgar's face fell comically at Bella's words.
"At Amelia's brother's house helping Susan muck out the attic," Sirius shrugged.
"So Amy is punishing him, then?" Andi asked looking to have composed herself.
"He is grounded until his hair changes back to its normal colour," Sirius snorted.
"Ha, that serves him right," Harry beamed.
"Yes well, Amy hit the roof when she got that letter from Minerva. Can you believe that she actually blamed me for Harry's bad behaviour," Sirius said with an exasperated shake of his head.
"Imagine that," Harry snorted.
"You're one to talk, you gave my daughter instructions on how to set up pranks for her first four years of school," Andi exclaimed.
"You're never going to let that go, are you?" Harry sighed.
"She can hold a grudge," Bella said as she got up from her seat.
"I would love to stay longer but I have a meeting to get to and I'm already running a bit late," Sirius said after checking his watch.
"Yeah mate, if you hurry back you can join us for dinner," Harry said as Bella began leading Edgar into the house.
"I would love to, Harry will be at Edward's for a while," Sirius said before he made his way to the stairs that led down to the beach.
"So Charlie took you to the reserve?" Harry asked as Andi went back into the house as well leaving him and Tonks alone on the deck.
"He did. A clutch of eggs hatched this morning and he wanted to show me the dragon chicks," Tonks admitted with a fond smile playing on her lips.
They're cute when the first hatch," Harry chuckled before he retook his seat on the couch.
"I noticed," Tonks agreed as she took a seat beside him.
After this, the two of them fell silent as they watched the waves and decompressed after the stressful morning spent at the graveyard.
Harry glanced over at his niece and couldn't help but remember her request to come along with them on their next attack. Not for the first time since she asked, he wondered if it was a good idea to include her.
Andi had already told them in no uncertain terms that she was coming with them on their next outing. Harry wasn't really thrilled about the idea but she was a grown woman so it was her call in the end.
Harry was wondering if he should allow his niece to come along the next time he and Bella took out a death eater. He wasn't sure if Tonks was really ready for what he and Bella (and more recently Sirius) were doing when they went hunting death eaters.
At the same time, he knew that she was very skilled with a wand and could only help their chances of success. If his group was larger then it would be possible to attack bigger targets and they could take out a bigger chunk of Voldemort's forces.
On the other hand, he did not want her to get hurt because he took her into danger when she wasn't ready. He was closer to her than he'd ever been with her future self and the thought of her going into battle honestly terrified him.
He decided that he would have to give her a bit of training in the Black family magic and assess how proficient she was in combat before he made a decision either way. He knew she was skilled in his timeline but that was after she had already graduated from the auror academy and had been an auror in the field for a year, so he couldn't really go by that.
Pushing those thoughts from his mind for the time being, Harry reclined back and enjoyed the peace this spot offered while his niece got lost in her own thoughts.
Number Twelve Grimmad Place, London, 6/13/1992, 14:39
Sirius entered the dining room. of his childhood home to find most of the order already seated around the table.
He hadn't brought it up with Harry in light of the attack on Andi's family but the vampires had been much more active in the week since Ted had been killed.
The last two teams of aurors searching for vampire dens had been ambushed when they arrived at their targets. Seventeen aurors had been killed and just as many had been critically injured.
That was on top of the wave of vampires attacking muggles on a daily basis.
Sirius had barely taken his seat across from Frank and Alice when Dumbledore and Minerva entered the kitchen with Snape following a few steps behind them looking just as bored as he usually did. Minerva sat down on Alice's right while Snape and Dumbledore continued walking to the head of the table. Snape took a seat but Albus remained standing and looked around the room as if doing a mental head count.
He must have deduced that everyone was present because he cleared his throat getting the attention of every person in the room.
"Good afternoon, as many of you already know, it has been a bad week. Besides the attack on the Tonks family we have had many deaths in the auror department," Albus started off in a grave voice.
"There is a bit of good news that few of you are aware of. At the end of May Thomas Avery's property was attacked and he was killed in the ensuing battle," Dumbledore said causing many around the table to gasp in surprise.
"That's good news," Arthur Weasley muttered to his wife.
"Furthermore the attacker managed to destroy the Durmstrang ship which has been causing us all sorts of headaches since Antonin Dolohov took over as the headmaster of the school," Dumbledore continued.
"The attacker also killed a dozen recruits," Snape added.
"No, I believe there were four dead on the property including Thomas Avery. The rest of them are currently guests in the Bulgarian Ministry's holding cells," Dumbledore corrected.
"Aye, we're working on extraditing Merula Snyde. She was found stunned and bound in ropes near Avery's corpse," Mad-Eye cut in.
"Good, if we can get her back to Britain she will be a gold mine of information on Voldemort's operations," Sirius exclaimed.
"Do we know who did this?" Frank asked curiously.
"The mark of the Reaper was found floating in the sky over Avery's property, so it would seem our old friend took a trip to Bulgaria," Dumbledore said sounding pleased.
"I do wonder why the Reaper left most of them alive?" Snape drawled.
"I believe it was because with the exception of Miss Snyde, none of them were marked and they were all quite young," Dumbledore said looking thoughtful.
"Young they were, from what I heard they had barely finished their schooling," Moody said with a disappointed shake of his head.
"Indeed but now with the ship destroyed Voldemort will have a time of getting new death eaters from Europe into the country," Alvus said.
"According to my cousin's husband, the ministry isn't monitoring muggle travel," Sirius pointed out.
"They will be starting next week," Kingsley said sounding amused.
"Excellent, I do not approve of a travel ban but it losses all effectiveness with so many ways around it," Dumbledore said.
"We had to rush it into place, we didn't have time to figure out all of the angles," Kingsley shrugged.
"It is a nightmare to get through, I came in by portkey two days ago and the ministry kept me in an interrogation room for two bloody hours," Bill Weasley exclaimed.
"You got off lucky, two hours is a minimum while they test for infection and wait out the time it would take for polyjuice to wear off," Moody grunted.
"They tried to stick a probity-probe up my-
"William," Molly admonished cutting her son off before he could finish.
"Well let us move on to the bad news. Severus, what have you learned about the vampires?" Dumbledore questioned.
"The Romanian vampires are no longer in the muggle cities and the leader of the coven is supposed to meet with the dark lord very soon," Severus said.
"Do you know where the vampires are staying?" Frank asked.
"No, there are rumours they are staying near London but I have no idea where," Snape shrugged.
"I would not advise your auror teams to approach those vampires. They are far stronger than the newly turned ones," Dumbledore said giving Kingsley a meaningful look.
"They will have to be dealt with in the end," Moody pointed out.
"I rather think the will amicable to negotiations," Dumbledore said.
"Negotiations?" Sirius snorted.
"They are ancient beings and have centuries of wisdom. They will not do anything that can endanger them or their coven," Dumbledore explained.
"I doubt that. They are the cause of this mess we're in now," Frank grunted.
"Voldemort promised them fresh blood, it is much preferred to what they normally feed on," Dumbledore shrugged.
"And they got it, our last count was four hundred and thirty-one muggles infected," Kingsley said.
"Yes, and now Voldemort has the ministry right where he wants it," Dumbledore agreed.
Sirius listened to the conversation about vampires wondering what Harry planned to do about them.
The order didn't have any information on the vampires he hadn't already known. Though many were wondering how tve auror teams kept getting ambushed. Moody suspected a spy but no one not even Snape had an idea as to who it could be.
The reason he had been so eager to help Harry was because of how useless the order was. The gathered informationand pondered problems but the rarely did anything useful.
One night working with Harry and his cousin had struck a massive blow to Voldemort's cause. He would still attend these meetings as they were a good source of information. He would slso continue to work with Harry and Bellatrix in hopes of ending this war quickly instead of dragging it on for a decade as would no doubt happen if they followed Dumbledore's lead.
As the meeting was called to an end, Sirius made his way back to the Peverells beach House to have anicefamily dinner before hefilled Harry in on what he learned today.
Riddle Manor, Little Hangleton, 6/14/1992, 01:29
A blond-haired woman with piercing blue eyes stepped through the gates of Riddle Manor and strolled towards the manor house with purpose.
Daciana Nicolae looked to be about nineteen or twenty, she was tall with a lithe build looking like a ballet dancer and moved with an almost unnatural grace. She had pale porcelain skin, high cheekbones and a pointed jawline speaking of the noble bloodline she was born to before she was turned. A predatory smile played on her ruby-red lips as the smell of wizards wafted towards her on the breeze. She subconsciously ran her tongue over her ruby-red lips as she heard their hearts beating from hundreds of yards away.
Looking ahead through the dark night she saw two men in their late teens standing guard on either side of the main door to the manor both of them oblivious to her presence.
Oh how she longed to take them, she could just imagine sinking her fangs into their neck and sucking down their essence will they struggled in vain against her far superior strength. Their struggles would just make their hearts pump their blood into her mouth all that much faster.
Yes, she could practically taste the sweet coppery and salty flavour of their blood on her lips making her mouth begin to water in anticipation.
Sadly she needed these meat sacks so she would have to play nice... For now.
Non-magical blood was good but it did not compare to magicals. Oh, their blood was unlike anything she could describe. Magical blood was envigorating to her kind, it was like drinking their very essence and made a vampire hum with power for weeks after consuming it.
If she had her way in this meeting with the self-proclaimed Lord Voldemort she would arrange for her coven to get magical prey very soon. That was the price for her coven to come to this island and terrorize the non-magical world.
She was now twenty feet from the manor and the guards had still not noticed her approach. Though that could have something to do with her silent movements and was helped by the fact that she did not need to draw breath, making her movements as silent as the grave.
Daciana arrived in front of the two wizards who started when she seemed to appear out of thin air. Both of them gazed at her with their lit wands with looks of awe on their slack-jawed faces as she smiled at them showing off her long curved fangs, not that they seemed to notice.
And why should they not, she was the epitome of beauty even veela could not hold a candle to her or so she had been told by many of her previous meals.
Her outfit probably had something to do with their lust-filled gazes as well, she may be five hundred years old but her little black dress and strappy high-heeled sandals were at the height of fashion in London. Vampires hunted by luring their prey in and with the way she was dressed, she could lure any man she wished into a dark alley to sate her appetites.
"Ma-may we help you, mi-miss?" The dark-haired wizard on the right stammered.
"A big strong wizard like yourself could help me with many things," Daciana purred as she ran her manicured nails gently over his cheek.
"Who are you?" the wizard asked his eyes widening in surprise as she made the smallest of cuts on his cheek making him jump in surprise.
"I am Daciana. I have an appointment to meet with Lord Voldemort," Daciana said before bringing the finger with a few drops of the wizard's blood to her lips and sucking it into her mouth.
"Yo-you're the leader of the vampires, aren't you?" The other wizard stammered out fearfully.
"I am but there is no reason to fear me, I won't bite," Daciana said in a soothing voice as she raised her hand and gently cupped his cheek.
Daciana repeated her trick on the other wizard making a small cut with her fingernail and bringing the blood collected in the curve of her long nail to her lips. She barely stifled a moan of pleasure as a few drops of his blood touched her tongue sending a wave of ecstasy through her body.
"Follow me, please the first wizard said looking very nervous now.
"Lead the way, wizard," Daciana said noting the blond wizard she had just spoken to touching the cut on his cheek.
The house that the dark-haired wizard led her through was very mice. true it was in desperate need of remodelling but it was in immaculate condition. The floor was covered in expensive hardwoods and the walls had silk wallpaper with a pleasing floral pattern. The ceiling was vaulted so she could see the handrail on the second floor from the entrance hall. An intricate crystal chandelier hung from the ceiling on a polished brass chain though it was regretfully unlit.
As she followed her escort up the stairs, Daciana spotted an old-fashioned light switch on the wall near a door leading into what she assumed was the kitchen.
This made her realize that she was in a non-magical home. This struck her as a bit odd considering what she had been told about this group's distaste of the non-magicals. Deciding not to comment on that anomaly, Daciana followed the dark-haired wizard off of the second-floor landing.
It didn't take long before she was led to a door halfway down the second-floor hallway before they came to a stop. Her guide knocked smartly on the door and waited for permission to enter, as a vampire she could definitely respect that.
"Enter," a cold voice hissed from the room beyond and the wizard gestured for her to follow him inside.
"The leader of the vampires to see you, my lord," her guide said as he bowed his head respectfully.
"Thank you, Mister Higgs, you may go," Voldemort said as he rose from his seat to greet her.
Daciana's first impression was that this wizard was more of a monster than she was. She could feel magical power radiating off of him and it was cold cruel magic that made her shiver slightly. He didn't even look human, his eyes were blood-red and glowed gently in the dark. His face had a snake-like quality to it that was helped by his lack of nostrils and the slight hiss in his voice.
The room itself was very welcoming with soft green carpet and sea-green plaster on the walls. There were two high-backed armchairs facing the fire with an endtable between them. It appeared to be a small parlor of sorts.
"Daciana, I apologise that we have not been able to meet before now," Voldemort said pulling her from her observations.
"It is a pleasure to meet you in person, Lord Voldemort. I must say that I am pleasantly surprised," Daciana said as she took the seat he offered her.
"I would offer you a drink but that would be unwise on my part," Voldemort chuckled as he retook his seat.
"I visited the village before I came here," Daciana said giving him an amused smile.
"That is for the best, I would hate for you to feed on my servants. Dim-witted they may be but they have their uses," Voldemort said before taking a sip of wine from the goblet beside his chair.
"Quite, my coven has strict orders not to attack any who bear your mark," Daciana assured him.
"You have my gratitude. Now I wanted to speak with you about our plans moving forward," Voldemort said as he set the goblet back on the end table.
"You mean besides spreading our disease amongst the non-magicals?" Daciana asked as she crossed her legs primly.
"Yes, how are those efforts coming along?" Voldemort questioned.
"The newly turned"s numbers are high enough that they do not need the coven's assistance. We have moved back to our castle for the time being" Daciana explained.
"Excellent. After the summer solstice, I wish you to begin your efforts in Scotland," Voldemort smiled.
"What of the magical blood we were promised?" Daciana questioned.
"I have a list of thirty-five wizard families that are a bit of a nuisance to my cause, you may do with them as you wish," Voldemort smiled as he offered her a rolled-up scroll of parchment.
"Excellent," Daciana smiled as she unrolled the parchment.
There was a list of names written in elegant cursive script starting with the Abbott family and going in alphabetical order to the Weasley family at the bottom of the list.
"Peverell?" Daciana asked as she read the name towards the bottom of the list.
"You recognise the name?" Voldemort questioned.
"The family line is ancient, I have known many descendants of Peverell through the centuries," Daciana said looking thoughtful.
"I would advise caution with the Peverells. He and his wife are quite powerful, I believe they are responsible for destroying the dementors of Azkaban island," Voldemort admitted.
"The family is the Master of Death if you believe the stories, they have always produced powerful wizards," Daciana said looking thoughtful.
"Master of Death?" Voldemort asked looking genuinely curious.
"The children's story about the three brothers is said to be based on the three Peverell brothers. Anyone who possesses all three objects is said to be able to command death itself," Daciana elaborated.
"And you believe they exist?" Voldemort asked.
"I know they exist, the wand of destiny's exploits are splashed across magical history. The stone fell into the possession of the Gaunt family or so I heard and the cloak is said to have been passed down through Ignotus' descendants from father to son to this day," Daciana said feeling amused that the dark lord was so interested in gossip.
"The Gaunts?" Voldemort asked sharply.
"Oh yes, in my time the Gaunts were the most prestigious family in Britain they were quite influential on the mainland as well. Their claim to fame was Markos Gaunt marrying Salazar Slytherin's daughter," Daciana said sounding eerily like a history of magic teacher.
"I see," Voldemort said looking thoughtful.
"Well the story goes that Slytherin married a Peverell and she was given an heirloom, a golden ring with the stone of resurrection set into it," Daciana said as she looked into the flickering flames of the fire.
"How can you know all of this?" Voldemort questioned looking very troubled for some reason.
"I am Romanian by birth but after my transformation, I travelled quite extensively. During my travels, I saw a muggle play in London. The playwright fascinated me and I settled into England for a few decades until the early sixteen hundreds when he retired and I decided I had stayed here long enough. During that time Britain had its own vampire communities and they were quite knowledgeable about the wizarding world. It pays to know thy enemy," Daciana said looking at him curiously.
"Immortality is a dream that I have always had and I am very close to achieving it," Voldemort confessed before taking a sip of his wine.
"My kind of immortality certainly has its advantages though it has its disadvantages as well," Daciana sighed.
"You were a witch before you were bitten?" Voldemort questioned.
"I was," Daciana answered having come to terms with losing her magic centuries ago.
"I would not wish to lose my ability to harness magic," Voldemort said giving her what could pass for a sympathetic look though it did not meet his eyes.
"Nor did I, but I am free from the sands of the hourglass and haven't aged since I was bitten," Daciana shrugged.
"What of the cloak, what family did Ignotus' line become?" Voldemort asked getting back to the original topic.
"Potter, Hardwin Potter married Iolanthe Peverell the many times great-granddaughter of Ignotus Peverell," Daciana answered.
"And the wand?" Voldemort pressed.
"That one is a bit harder to pin down, there were rumours of a wandmaker possessing it at the turn of the century but the wand is famous for being stolen from its owner so there is no telling where it is now," Daciana shrugged.
"I suppose I will look into the matter myself," Voldemort said more to himself than her.
"Was there anything else?" Daciana asked starting to feel bored with the wizard.
"No, I was just interested in meeting with you and I am glad I did. You have certainly given me something to think about," Voldemort said.
"I would have to say I agree, you are so much more than I expected," Daciana smiled as she rose to her feet.
"I will send word when I am ready to start the next stage of our plans, in the meantime feel free to work your way through that list," Voldemort said as he rose from his seat and guided her to the door.
"I will assess their vulnerabilities and begin to pick them off," Daciana said feeling giddy at the thought of tasting magical blood.
"It was a pleasure to meet you, Daciana," Voldemort said as he took her hand and placed a kiss on her knuckles.
"You as well, good evening, Lord Voldemort," Daciana said before stepping out of the study and shutting the door behind her.
After meeting the dark wizard she realized that she would have to rethink her plans. It was clear that she would not be able to manipulate this man as she had done with countless other dark wizards. He did not have enough human qualities to succumb to her manner of persuasion.
For the time being, she would stay the course and follow this Voldemort's plan. In the meantime, she would investigate him. Everyone had a weakness she just had to learn his before she could form a plan to dispose of him when he had served his purpose.
As Daciana stepped out into the warm night air and she passed the weak-willed guards on either side of the door she wondered how her sisters would react to this hit list she had been given.
She recognized many old family names on the list, old names meant old pureblood to drink. It also meant that the ministry would try that much harder to eradicate her kind when esteemed members of society fell victim to vampires.
She would put the matters to the coven for a vote before she did anything but regardless, the names on the list that were born to non-magical families were fair game and their blood tasted just as good as a pureblood's, magical was magical after all.
Closing her eyes in concentration, Daciana leapt into the air jumping much higher than any human could before transforming into a coal-black bat with glowing blue eyes and taking flight high into the sky.
She had a long flight ahead of her but on a night like this, it was quite enjoyable. As she flew over the little village near Lord Voldemort's manor, she wondered how long it would take before the vampire she had created earlier in the evening began infecting other villagers.
