Chapter 66 - Chapter 15: The Fallout of Failure

Ministry of Magic, London, 5/15/1992, 20:51

Voldemort stepped out of one of the many fireplaces that led into the ministry. He was wearing a polyjuice disguise and blended seamlessly into the mass of ministry workers already there.

Voldemort felt quite pleased with what he saw as he made his way across the atrium. If he could use one word to describe the scene before him it would be... pandemonium.

The place was packed with ministry officials making their way to the lifts. The cavernous room echoed with aurors and hitwizads talking over one another as they tried to get a handle on what was going on or questioned those closest to them as to why they had been called in at this hour.

From what he had heard, the minister's manor was under attack and the auror department was calling in all of their people in case the aurors on the scene required assistance.

Voldemort was currently disguised as Broderick Bode an unspeakable that he'd been interrogating for the past few hours.

Truthfully he would have preferred to have more time to interrogate Bode but Bode's absence would have been remarked upon if he had taken Bode any earlier.

Voldemort had been forced to wait until Bode was leaving work this evening. He had kidnapped Bode in the middle of this very atrium employing a stunning spell and a well-timed portkey, effectively disappearing the unspeakable without those around him being any the wiser.

Voldemort felt confident that he had gotten all the information he could about the hall of prophecy from Bode's mind in the short time he'd had with the man. This had been complicated slightly by the multitude of oaths the department made their employees swear but like most problems, Voldemort had gotten around this obstacle with the proper application of force.

Sadly the force he had used to extract the information had broken Broderick's mind. The dark lord had been merciful and put him out of his misery once the interrogation was complete.

Tonight he would use what he had learned to finally hear the prophecy in full.

Voldemort stepped into the first available lift and waited patiently as the doors clanged shut plunging him into near silence as the lifts began its descent to level nine.

Voldemort readied himself for the maze he was about to navigate as the lift jerked to a stop and the metal doors clanged noisily open.

"Let's get this over with," Voldemort muttered to himself as he stepped out of the lift onto the ninth-floor corridor.

Twenty minutes later, Voldemort stepped back into the lift as he pondered what he had just heard.

He was of two minds about the prophecy as it was open to interpretation and divination was not a subject he had much experience with.

Voldemort repeated the prophecy in his head as he waited for the lift to take him back to the atrium.

The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches...

Born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies...

And the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not...

And either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives...

Locked inside a cold tomb surrounded by monsters he will find his partner in the stars...

And together they will purge the land of evil and the dark lord will tremble at the sight of his mark...

The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will arrive as the new spring awakens...

He had known that his and young Harry Potter's destinies were entwined since Severus had brought the prophecy to his attention. Now that he heard the prophecy in full, he was unsure how to proceed from here on out.

From what he heard, either he or Harry Potter had to kill the other. He realized with a start that it was a self-fulfilling prophecy. If he hadn't acted, to begin with, then this prophecy may have remained dormant like the tens of thousands of other prophecies in that hall.

The last three lines confused him as they didn't make any sense to him. He would have to look into the matter but it gave him pause. Was it possible that Harry Potter wasn't the one the prophecy spoke of? Could Potter's survival on that Halloween night be due to some fluke of magic and how could he possibly know for sure?

Voldemort was pulled from his thoughts as the lift clanged open. He began crossing the atrium knowing that he had about ten minutes before the polyjuice wore off. It was as he was nearing the fireplace that would allow him to floo back to Avery Manor that he saw a large group of aurors arrive by portkey. Voldemort froze as he noticed they were escorting prisoners dressed in black robes. As the group passed him, he was able to recognise two of the prisoner's faces.

Alecto was still conscious but she was hobbling badly and being frogmarched by two aurors.

Amycus was unconscious and was being levitated in the upright position, his head was resting awkwardly on his shoulder making it possible for Voldemort to see the man's pudgy face as the group passed by him.

Voldemort felt his blood begin to boil and he began walking very quickly toward the lifts only to run into a much larger man dressed in auror robes.

"Watch where you're going, Bode," Runcorn grunted before shoving Voldemort/Bode and nearly knocking him to the ground.

Voldemort's rage intensifies but he tamped down his urge to retaliate. He could not blow his cover, he wanted Dumbledore to be ignorant of his presence here tonight. Forcing down his agitation, Voldemort continued on his way to the fireplaces. Though as he walked he made plans to punish Albert Runcorn for his disrespect.

As Voldemort stepped into one of the outgoing fireplaces he wondered how badly tonight's mission had failed.

Hogwarts, 5/15/1992, 21:39

Harry had been questioned three times by three different recruits and he was starting to get annoyed. It didn't help that he hadn't eaten since lunch and he was starting to get very hungry.

"You're using me as a training tool, aren't you," Harry asked as he looked over at Moody in annoyance.

"Aye, they need practice interviewing hostile witnesses," Moody replied sounding almost amused.

"You said the ministry had a crisis to deal with?" Harry asked curiously.

"They do, the minister's manor was under attack the last I heard," Alastor admitted.

"Oh," Harry said dumbly.

"Is Augusta okay?" Albus asked.

"No idea, I was at the academy when I got your message," Moody shrugged.

"Then how do you know about the attacks?" Harry asked in confusion.

"Our auror badges work to communicate," Mayweather cut in as she gestured to the badge pinned to her red robes.

Harry felt a bit sheepish, he really should have known that. He was an auror for a very short time and could remember the auror on his team using their badges like a D.A galleon to coordinate their movements.

"Alright Peverell, you're free to go but you may have to testify if this goes to trial," Moody said as he looked at a message that had just come through on his badge.

"Thanks," Harry said feeling relieved.

"You know if you want to meet up sometime, the academy will be on leave in a few weeks," Mayweather said as she gave him a sultry smile.

"My wife would murder us both," Harry snorted.

"Alright recruits, form up!" Moody barked shooting Auror Mayweather a look of annoyance

Harry watched as the six recruits that remained formed a line in front of their instructor.

Moody took out a three-foot stretch of rope from his robe pocket and the auror recruits quickly took hold.

"Back to school," Moody grunted causing the portkey to activate and sending his students away in a flash of blue light.

"Sorry about Mayweather, lad," Moody grunted.

"I have to deal with that a lot," Harry waved him off.

"Mayweather is a bit of a flirt but she is a good fighter," Moody chuckled.

"I bet she's not better than my wife," Harry smirked.

"Not many people are," Moody snorted.

"You might want to let her know that," Harry suggested.

"Okay, I will pass along the message," Moody agreed.

"There will be an emergency order meeting at four o 'clock tomorrow afternoon, Alastor," Dumbledore said as Mad-Eye prepared to apparate away.

"I'll be there, Albus," Moody agreed before he disappeared with a barely audible 'pop'.

"Well it has certainly been an eventful day," Albus said as he glanced over at Harry.

"It has. I think I am going to go home before any more of my colleagues try to murder me," Harry said with a look of amusement.

"As long as those wards of yours don't show up in the school again I doubt you have anything to fear," Albus said only half-jokingly.

"They won't," Harry assured him as he remembered his earlier conversation with Minerva

"Excellent, I will see you tomorrow," Albus said.

"Good night, Albus," Harry said before he walked through the castle gates.

As Harry turned on the spot and apparated away he couldn't help but wonder what had happened at the minister's manor.

Office of the Head of the DMLE, London, 5/16/1992, 00:29

Amelia knocked on Rufus' door and was almost immediately bid entrance.

"Bones get in here and shut the door!" Rufus barked.

Amelia quickly stepped inside and shut the door noting Alastor Moody was already standing in front of Rufus' desk.

"Alastor, come to take your old job back?" Amelia asked by way of greeting.

"Not bloody likely," Moody snorted.

"All right shut it the both of you," Rufus scowled.

"Yes sir," Amelia answered not at all surprised by his current mood.

"Bones, what the hell happened tonight?" Rufus demanded without preamble.

"A group of twelve insurgents entered through a hole in the Longbottom wards. They split into two teams, the first attempted to overrun Shack's team and failed spectacularly. The second team entered the second floor of the minister's manor and were wiped out by the minister, her son, and daughter-in-law," Amelia said looking quite pleased at this news.

"And the prisoners?" Rufus pressed.

"We captured Alecto and Amycus Carrow as well as Barry Gamp and Jeremiah Smith," Amelia answered.

"How did they make a hole through the minister's wards, she just had them upgraded a few years ago," Moody exclaimed.

"They had an inside man, we have already taken him into custody," Amelia explained.

"Who?" Rufus asked looking surprised at this news.

"Senior Auror Albert Runcorn. We arrested him when he arrived at the ministry a few hours ago," Anelia answered with a hard note in her voice.

"I want him brought up on the charges of treason and conspiracy!" Rufus exclaimed looking furious.

"He has also been spying for the death eaters for the past six months" Amelia added.

"That bastard! Dose him in veritaserum and get all the evidence that you need to get him convicted. I want that turn-coat son of a bitch chucked through the veil," Rufus ordered with a manic gleam in his yellow eyes.

"There was also an incident at the school, the defence professor tried to assassinate Lord Peverell around the same time the attack on the minister took place," Moody added.

"Is that why Quirrell is in the holding cells?" Amelia asked with interest.

"Aye, I took my students to process the scene but it was a pretty straightforward case," Moody said.

"If Harry was involved, I'm surprised that Quirrell's still alive," Amelia admitted.

"Peverell and Albus had Quirrell incapacitated by the time we arrived on the scene. I haven't gotten around to interrogating Quirrell yet but I would bet anything that the attack at Hogwarts was supposed to be a distraction," Moody said with a shrug.

"How is the minister handling this, Rufus?" Amelia asked.

"She is calling an emergency Wizengamot session, if she has her way then heads are going to roll," Rufus snorted.

"I think that I will go begin another round of interrogations unless there is anything else?" Amelia questioned.

"No, you can go, Bones, just keep me informed if you find out anything useful," instructed.

"You'll be the first to know," Amelia agreed before she turned to leave.

"Good work tonight, Head Auror," Moody said with a wide grin.

"Thank you, Alastor, try and get my next batch of rookies ready for me, won't you," Amelia smirked before she stepped out of the office and shut the door behind her.

As Amelia began making her way to the interrogation rooms she couldn't help but wonder what would have happened if the death eaters had been successful tonight.

Pushing those horrifying thoughts from her mind, she opened the door to interrogation room one and readied herself to interrogate Albert Runcorn.

Wizengamot Chamber, London, 5/16/1992, 09:08

Harry took his seat in the lord's gallery next to Jonathan Greengrass and watched as the seats around him began to fill as the time drew nearer for the session to begin.

"Heard you had a busy evening yesterday," Jonathan said as he glanced over at Harry.

"You could say that, Quirrell tried to off me on my way home," Harry admitted.

"Is it really that cutthroat working at Hogwarts?" Jonathan asked sounding flabbergasted.

"I didn't think so until last night," Harry shrugged.

"I always thought there was something off about that chap," Jonathan muttered.

"Same, he was always a bit strange," Harry agreed.

"She doesn't look to be in a particularly good mood," Jonathan chuckled as he looked towards the chamber entrance.

Harry turned in that direction and saw the minister entering the room. Harry wasn't that surprised to see that she was flanked by four aurors as she made her way to her seat at the front of the gallery.

"I heard the minister had a close call last night," Jonathan said as he watched the aurors take up positions around the room.

"I heard that too, apparently the attacks failed," Harry muttered as Dumbledore entered the chamber.

"It would take more than a few death eaters to take out that old battleaxe," Jonathan chuckled.

"True, but that was pretty brazen to take a swing at the minister," Harry pointed out.

"Not to mention stupid," Jonathan smirked.

Before Harry could reply the doors to the chamber slammed shut and silence fell over the room.

"Good morning to you all, as the chief warlock, I call this emergency session of the Wizengamot to order," Dumbledore's magically magnified voice echoed over the room.

Harry along with all of the other members listened with rapt attention as the chief warlock continued speaking.

"The minister has called the meeting this morning so I will pass the floor to her and let her address the court," Dumbledore said before taking his seat.

Augusta Longbottom rose from her seat and approached the podium on the floor in front of the lord's gallery.

"Thank you chief warlock and thank you all for meeting on such short notice. Last night my home was attacked with the intent of assassinating me. Had that been a purely personal matter I would still be furious at this cowardly attempt on my life but I would have settled the matter in my own way. Unfortunately, they were not attacking Augusta Longbottom, they were attacking the Minister for Magic which is a far more serious crime!"

"Five people were arrested in connection with the attack on my home and warrants have already been issued for a dozen more persons of interest in connection with this conspiracy. Thomas Avery and Antonin Dolohov who are both fugitives from justice already are thought to be the masterminds behind this plot but there were many more people connected to this conspiracy."

"Sadly we learned far more troubling information during the interrogations than this cowardly conspiracy to assassinate the minister of magic."

"According to all five of the suspects who were interrogated under the truth potion veritaserum, fifteen Romanian vampires have entered our country and have already begun spreading their sickness in heavily populated muggle areas!"

"Today I am calling for the Wizengamot to place our country in a state of emergency until this issue has been resolved. The threat these vampires pose not just to magical Britain but the entire magical world as a whole is undeniable and we must eliminate this problem before it exposes us!" Augusta proclaimed stunning many in the room and causing frantic chatter to break out in the gallery.

"Holy shit!" Jonathan hissed sounding horrified.

"You can say that again," Harry muttered darkly.

"Minister, how long have the vampires been in Britain?" Lord Ogden asked in a voice of forced calm.

"The best that we can tell, they have been here a month, maybe a bit longer," Augusta answered gravely.

"Do we know which cities they are in, Minister?" Lady Fawley asked in a worried voice.

"Leeds, Yorkshire, Manchester, Birmingham and the East End of London as of now. They seem to be moving northwards," Augusta answered.

"Minister, do we have any idea about their numbers?" Dumbledore asked sounding quite calm though Harry could see the worry etched on the headmaster's ancient face.

"No Chief Warlock. The DMLE is still in the process of assessing the situation. Auror teams are currently searching the country for signs of these vampires and we should know more very shortly," Augusta said giving the older man a meaningful look.

Harry tuned out the back and forth as he considered what this meant. He had never encountered vampires before and he knew that he wasn't alone in that regard. Vampires hadn't operated in the British Isle since the late eighteen hundreds meaning there were very few people in this country who had experience in dealing with vampires.

Harry knew that the Romanian government in particular had heavily regulated their vampire's movements since their numbers could quickly get out of hand if left unchecked.

Vampires could infect muggles though their survival rate was somewhere around sixty per cent which meant that six out of every ten muggles bitten by a vampire would turn into one within seventy-two hours of being bitten.

That rate was a hundred per cent with magicals though a magical would lose his or her abilities upon being infected with the vampire virus.

Harry also knew that the only sure way to kill a vampire was decapitation. The problem was that their skin was resistant to magic meaning it had to be done with an edged weapon. This posed a problem since Vampires moved significantly faster than a human. They also also had enhanced strength and the ability to hypnotise those of weak will putting them at a significant advantage in a fight against the average wizard.

Vampires were most active at dusk and right before dawn though contrary to muggle lore, they would not burst into flames if exposed to direct sunlight. However, they were weaker in sunlight and could be taken down more easily as the magic protections on their skin were not as effective.

Older vampires had the ability to transform into bats though they couldn't transform in the daytime because their magic was affected by the sun.

One of a vampire's biggest weaknesses was garlic which caused an allergic reaction similar to anaphylaxis. Unfortanately garlic was not fatal to them and they would recover from garlic poisoning after a few hours but it could be used to weaken a vampire long enough to dispose of it.

A stake through the heart was effective if you could restrain the vampire long enough to hammer it into their chest though that was rarely possible contrary to Stoker's fable.

In short, the ministry would have its hands full with this! The longer it took them to deal with the vampires, the bigger their numbers would get and if the ministry waited too long the ICW would be forced to intervene before the muggles got wind of it.

Harry wasn't very surprised when the minister's call to put Magical Britain in a state of emergency got an overwhelming majority vote.

The state of emergency restricted International travel and increased the DMLE, DoMC and the DoM's budget. There was also a curfew set over magical districts to protect the citizens from the threat of vampire attacks.

Harry groaned internally when he realised that the job he had agreed to do for Narcissa had just gotten a lot more difficult as he would have to find a way to leave the country without the ministry being any the wiser. Now they would be monitoring all outgoing portkeys and would redirect them to the ministry portkey office. There would also be powerful wards going up to prevent broom travel across the country's borders with mainland Europe. It wouldn't be impossible to leave the country undetected but it just became a lot more complicated.

Luckily he wouldn't have any problems making his magizoology trips this summer as the venom collections for work met the parameters to travel abroad. Though he would be detained upon reentry into Britain while the ministry ascertained that he had not been bitten by a vampire or the like.

Unfortunately, the planned vacation to Italy did not fit the parameters of authorized travel. He and Bellatrix would have to find a way around this problem or the vacation would have to be cancelled and Harry had no intention of doing that.

As the meeting carried on, Harry listened with half an ear as various officials filled the Wizengamot in on the attack at Longbottom Hall and what they had learned from the captured death eaters.

At around eleven o'clock a team of aurors led by Kingsley Shacklebolt entered the chamber. Harry watched as Shack approached Rufus Scrimgeour and whispered something into his ear.

A moment later Scrimgeour nodded to Shack before leaning over and whispering something to the minister as Shack returned to his teammates and then led them back out of the chamber.

Harry thought Shack's team looked pretty rough with large tears in their robes and smudges of soot and dust in their faces.

"Chief Warlock, I have just received new information," Augusta said getting the attention of every member in the chamber.

"Please proceed, Minister," Dumbledore said looking just as curious as everyone else.

"A team of aurors has just neutralized vampire dens on the East End. The vampires were occupying an entire block of flats. At the last count, there were thirty-seven vampires occupying the building, most of them having been turned in the last week," Augusta said looking very grave.

"That isn't be a good sign," Harry muttered to himself as Augusta began answering questions from Wizengamot members.

If they found thirty-seven of them in one location then it meant there could be hundreds if not thousands of the blood-suckers spread out across the country.

Harry realized that he would have to look into this matter himself though he thought that the aurors were better suited to this task than the Reaper was.

Avery Manor, Hampshire, 5/16/1992, 16:39

Voldemort didn't think he had ever felt this angry in his entire life!

Both attacks had been overwhelming failures though he had already expected Quirrell to fail in his attempt to kill Harry Peverell.

The attack on Longbottom Hall was another matter altogether! The Carrows had botched the attack and both of their teams had been decimated!

Things only got worse when he received word of Albert Runcorn's arrest and then things really went downhill. The aurors interrogated the Carrow twins and learned of his plans for the vampires!

Already he had received word of auror teams searching for vampire dens and destroying any vampires that they found.

He knew that last night's failed attack had set his plans back a very long way!

At the moment he was pacing his study as he thought of ways to make this turn of events work in his favour.

He knew that this would make things easier for them while the auror corp was spread so thin. His death eaters could now move on multiple targets at once making it difficult for the aurors to respond in time. In the short term, this could work in their favour.

On the other hand, the Wizengamot had passed a bill to increase the DMLE finding meaning that in three years the auror corp would be twenty per cent larger which could pose a problem for his cause.

No, he could not allow that to happen. He needed to deal with Augusta Longbottom and this time he would deal with the problem personally.

Voldemort began forming a plan. He knew that he would have to work fast before word of Broderick's disappearance got back to his superiors.

"It's not over yet, Augusta," Voldemort whispered to the empty room as he thought of the fallout this attack would create

Peverell Beach House, Cornwall , 5/16/1992, 17:39

Harry stepped into the house to find his family plus both of his sister-in-laws and Ted sitting at the dining room table. They were just tucking into a beef roast and all of them looked in his direction as he stepped into the room.

"You look exhausted," Bellatrix said as Harry took a seat beside her at the table.

"Longest day ever," Harry muttered tiredly as he poured himself a large glass of wine.

"So what was the meeting about?" Narcissa asked.

"The minister was attacked in her manor last night," Harry said before taking a deep drink of wine.

"You spent all day in an emergency Wizengamot meeting for that?" Narcissa asked incredulously.

"There is more but it will have to wait," Harry said making a subtle gesture with his head at the twins who were both listening intently to the conversation.

"Come on Dad, I want to know," Ignotus protested in a whining voice.

"Absolutely not, it would just give you two nightmares, son," Harry said in a very serious tone.

"Now I'm not sure that I want to know," Andromeda muttered weakly.

"I'm sure it isn't that bad, Luv," Ted said as he run his hand soothingly over her back.

"Very well, it can wait until the children start on their homework," Bella agreed much to Ignotus' dismay.

"So how was your day Bella," Harry asked in hopes of steering the conversation to a lighter topic.

"Lovely, I finished my orders up and then I let the children fly after lunch," Bella smiled.

"And how were your lessons today?" Harty asked as he looked at the twins.

"Fine," Iggy said with a moody shrug of his shoulders.

"Carina?" Harry asked rolling his eyes at Iggy's response.

"It was wonderful, Aunt Cissa showed us these pretty new birds she got for the aviary," Carina gushed.

"New birds?" Harty asked as he looked at Narcissa.

"I just received a pair of lovebirds from Madagascar," Narcissa beamed.

"If you keep at it like this you'll have to expand your aviary," Harry chuckled.

"I have been debating adding a second aviary," Narcissa admitted.

"Bella says that you are planning on moving into LeStrange Manor?" Andromeda asked looking genuinely curious.

"We were talking about it but after today, I am not sure if it's wise," Harry said thinking about what he had heard earlier today.

After this, everyone fell silent as they ate only speaking to ask for salt or pepper as everyone was anxious to find out what Harry had learned at the Wizengamot meeting.

As soon as the children had cleaned their plates, Bella sent them to the sitting room to start on their homework. Carina didn't argue but Ignotus stomped out of the room complaining about how unfair it was that they weren't telling him what was going on.

Harry could already tell that Iggy was going to get a telling-off from his mother later for his attitude.

"Alright now tell us what happened," Bella said as soon as the children had left the dining room and she had placed a privacy charm over the doorway.

"Well as I said the attack on the minister was a massive failure. The aurors wiped the floor with them and managed to catch two inner circle death eaters and two low-level death eaters. During their interrogation the aurors discovered a spy in the auror corp," Harry explained before taking a sip of wine.

"That sounds like good news," Ted said looking at him in confusion.

"That is where the good news ends. During the interrogation of the Carrow twins, it came to light that fifteen Romanian vampires had been smuggled into the country. They have been running amok for the past month," Harry said gravely noticing that look of horror on every face in the room at this revelation.

"You have got to be joking," Andromeda muttered her face having lost all colour.

"I really wish I were. The auror office is going spare trying to contain this," Harry sighed.

"How did they even get them here?" Narcissa asked in a soft voice.

"Antonin Dolohov. He is the headmaster of Durmstrang. According to the Carrow, he used the Durnstrang ship to ferry them here from Romania," Harry shrugged.

"And the minster, what is she doing about this?" Bella asked.

"She has placed Magical Britain in a state of emergency. Travel into and out of Britain is now being heavily regulated. The Wizengamot voted for it today as well as about a dozen other new bills," Harry replied.

"Do you know where the vampires are?" Andromeda asked.

"East London for sure. The last I heard they found evidence of vampire activity in eight large cities moving northwards toward Leeds," Harry answered before knocking back the rest of the wine in his glass.

"This is a nightmare," Narcissa muttered as she refilled her own glass and took a large sip.

"The dark lord finally figured out a way to strike at the ministry," Bellatrix said thoughtfully.

"I think he wanted to keep this secret a bit longer," Harry admitted.

"Yes, right now there is still a chance of stopping them. If this had gone on a few more months without detection then there would have been no hope of containing the vampires," Bellatrix agreed as she sipped her own wine.

"Either way the country is vulnerable at present," Narcissa pointed out.

"It is. There aren't near enough aurors to scour the country to search for vampires and still maintain law and order," Harry agreed.

"Lovely," Ted muttered.

"Nymphadora just had to be an auror," Andromeda scowled.

"From what Moody told me, she is going to be one of the best," Harry said hoping to reassure her a bit.

"I was hoping that she'd drop out of the academy," Andromeda admitted.

"We knew that wouldn't happen Luv, Dora never gives up on anything once she's set her mind to something," Ted said as he rubbed his wife's back.

"She's not going to be in the field for two more years and you can bet that the academy is going to be doing some comprehensive training on how to deal with vampires," Harry said reasonably.

"What of our travel plans?" Bella asked ignoring the annoyed look Andromeda shot her way.

"Getting out of the country will be relatively simple. Getting back in will be a bit trickier," Harry answered as he glanced over at his wife.

"So we're going to have to cancel our trip to Italy?" Bella asked looking annoyed.

"No, we are not cancelling," Harry assured her.

"But how can you if travel is restricted?" Andromeda asked sounding almost disappointed.

"I can still travel for my work. So I will bring Bella and the kids with me when I go to Africa" Harry explained.

"What about that task in South America?" Narcissa asked.

"I will figure it out, I don't think they will be monitoring muggle travel, so I may be able to make the trip that way," Harry smirked.

"I hope you won't leave before Nymphadora comes home for the summer," Andromeda said giving him a questioning look.

"No, we won't be leaving until the second week of June," Harry assured her.

"Good because she mentioned in her last letter that she needs to talk with you about something," Andromeda said

"When does the academy let out?" Harry asked.

"The third of June," Andromeda answered.

"I'll make time to see her before we leave," Harry promised.

As the conversation circled back to how bad this new threat was, Harry couldn't t help but wonder what it was that Tonks wanted to talk to him about.
