Ethan immediately checked the situation in the Beast Familiar Space.
The Divine black goat was still in a prostrate, worshiping posture. Countless black silk threads flew out of its body, spreading through the air as though it was offering something.
At the same time, Ethan could feel his mind becoming incredibly clear, and his physique and strength were improving at an astonishing rate. A strange energy began to circulate within his body, unlike anything he had experienced before.
This process lasted for about half an hour. Slowly, the black threads covering his body faded away, and everything returned to normal.
In the Beast Familiar Space, the black goat ceased its worship. Its tentacles extended into the cracks in the ground, the black mist in the air, and even the stagnant waters of the Black River. It seemed to have entered a meditative state.
Ethan closed his eyes and carefully examined his own condition.
His body had undergone a qualitative transformation.
Normally, a Beast Tamer's physical strength and longevity could improve over time, but this rapid surge was completely different. It felt as though he had received some kind of sacrificial gift from the black goat.
"Could this be some kind of hidden skill?" Ethan muttered.
But he quickly dismissed the idea. If such an ability existed, he should have already seen it when he checked the goat's details earlier.
Moments later, his Beast Familiar talent actively sent him feedback.
Ethan opened his status panel and was shocked to find that he could now see his own information:
[Name]: Ethan
[Age]: Seventeen
[Bloodline]: Awakend Human
[Awakend Rank]: C-Rank
[Talent]: Primordial Core (You are the sole ruler above the black mist.) , Ultimate Evolution
[Abilities]: Mental Power, Super Self-Healing
[Beast Familiar]: Divine Black Goat
"What is this?!" Ethan exclaimed, his mind racing.
According to his understanding, a Beast Tamer's talent only allowed them to view the details of beasts. He was of pure human blood—how could he see his own status?
After a moment of contemplation, he attributed this anomaly to his unique talent.
Upon closer inspection, Ethan began to understand the truth.
It was a hidden talent bonus!
The Primordial Core talent granted a special ability: the power to share the extraordinary strength of his contracted beasts. It combined the effects of two separate talents—[Shared Type] and [Composite Type].
This was the strength of SSS-grade talents.
"The bonuses of higher-level talents aren't just more comprehensive—they're game-changing!" Ethan realized.
The sacrificial act of the black goat had strengthened his mental power and granted him the goat's life attributes.
Eager to experiment, Ethan focused on a teacup on the table, imagining it floating.
A weak mental force extended outward. The teacup wobbled slightly, then lifted into the air before falling back to the table. Ethan's head felt slightly dizzy, but he was ecstatic.
"Even at this level, it works!" he exclaimed.
This hidden bonus must have been triggered when he fully contracted the black goat, which was why it hadn't been detected earlier.
Ethan clenched his fists. His current strength was still limited, but he would grow. In the future, his mental power might be strong enough to allow him to float or even fly.
The self-healing ability was just as incredible. Injuries would heal at a terrifying speed, and even fatal wounds could be mitigated. If the damage exceeded his capacity to recover, the black goat would share half of the burden, effectively granting him a second life.
With his newfound strength, Ethan felt more confident about entering the Blackstone Gate.
The next morning, Ethan contacted Mr. Hariss, his teacher, to explain the situation.
"Completed the contract already? What was the first creature you chose?" Mr. Hariss asked curiously.
Ethan hesitated for a moment.
There weren't many extraordinary beings that could compare to his black goat, so he decided to keep it simple.
"It's a black goat cub with excellent aptitude and potential," Ethan replied.
A long silence followed.
On the other end of the line, Mr. Hariss, who had just finished getting dressed, froze in disbelief.
"A black goat? Isn't that just a low-tier beast raised for meat? How can it have any potential?" he muttered to himself, growing increasingly irritated.
The thought of Ethan being scammed by a pet center made his blood boil. He was even considering skipping school to confront them.
"Ethan" Mr. Hariss said sternly, using Ethan's original name in frustration. "What were you thinking?"
Ethan could tell the misunderstanding and quickly clarified, "Sir, my beast really has great potential. I wouldn't make such a careless decision."
After some hesitation, Mr. Hariss relented.
"Alright. Just… be careful in the gate. I'll send you your apprentice badge in a few days," he said.
After hanging up, Mr. Hariss sighed deeply. He still couldn't believe Ethan's choice. "A black goat… What are these kids thinking these days?"
He shook his head and made another call.
"Hello, Emma? There's been an issue with Ethan… Could you look out for him while he's in the secret realm?"
