Chapter 9 - Going Berserk!

The heavy gunfire reverberated in the air.

Fourteen Bakatan warriors had spread out completely, sweeping through the entire Longcheng Imperial View neighborhood. Just in the frontal direction, there were five of them.

Yet at this moment, Li Xinghe's fear had transformed into excitement and exhilaration.

Because the real boss had stepped up, and he claimed to have a plan!

"Bro! What should I do? How can I assist you? I'm a B-class ability user, Holy Light Summoner. I can support you with healing and buffs!"

Nobody wanted to be relentlessly hunted. Li Xinghe was eager to team up with the boss for a counterattack and avenge his grievances.

But the voice of the man behind him was calm: "No need for healing. Just run out there and make them think you killed three of them. Distract them for me. Remember, don't let them discover me. If I die, none of us will survive!"

Li Xinghe's face instantly fell.

This wasn't cooperation; this was throwing him out as bait!

Unfortunately, the boss behind him didn't waste a single word. He shoved Li Xinghe forward with only one parting line: "If you want to live, do as I say!"

Li Xinghe stumbled forward, his soul almost leaving his body. He didn't even have time to glance back at the mysterious boss—because the five Bakatan warriors had already locked onto him, chasing him madly.

Gritting his teeth, he yelled out, unsure if they could even understand, "It was me who killed your three comrades! Come and get me if you dare!"

His words were tough, but his legs were even faster, as he bolted like the wind.

His agility, his highest stat at 11 points, was fully unleashed. He danced on the edge of a knife, racing against death itself.

At the same time, the scrawny man from earlier emerged with a group of others, witnessing the scene. His eyes filled with tears.

He had thought Li Xinghe had fled, but now he realized the man was truly a boss—bold enough to face the enemy alone!

"This Mr. Li is so brave! I was just wondering where he went, and here he is, charging out on his own! Let's go help him!"

The scrawny man's idea of "help" was, in reality, just distracting the monsters by splitting their fire.

But the chaos only worked to Lin Qun's advantage. The more chaotic the situation, the less attention the Bakatans paid to him, allowing him to stealthily pick them off one by one. Even the sharp senses of the black-armored captain wouldn't be able to pinpoint him in this mess.

This was Lin Qun's plan: to create chaos and wipe out all the Bakatan warriors!

The first hints of dawn lit the horizon, signaling the end of the long night.

But Lin Qun had to finish the battle before sunrise.

Fourteen Bakatan warriors.

It was either them or him!

Lin Qun moved silently, embodying the spirit of a "crouching tiger." Utilizing his intimate knowledge of the neighborhood, he weaved through alleys, hiding wherever he could find cover—be it garbage heaps, grass patches, or even trash bins.

Once he found the right angle, he locked onto his target.

One precise shot, and the head exploded.

The Bakatans, seemingly able to understand human language, had fixated on Li Xinghe, chasing him relentlessly. Unbeknownst to them, a shadowy figure lurked on the battlefield's edge, launching skill after skill.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Blood sprayed as three Bakatans fell to Lin Qun's sniping.

Li Xinghe, who had been running for his life, suddenly let out an excited cheer.

Chased to the brink of madness, he felt elated watching the Bakatans' heads explode. It was as if he himself had taken the shots!

His confidence surged.

"Come on, bring it on! Take one more step, and I'll blow your brains out!"

A volley of bullets came his way.

But the Bakatan shooter's head exploded a moment later.

The last Bakatan warrior recoiled in horror, retreating while frantically screaming in their language over the comms: "This human high-potential individual is terrifying! We've lost three warriors! Captain, we request reinforcements… reinforcements…"

The black-armored captain coldly replied, "What's a few low-level warriors? Keep distracting them. We're about to complete the encirclement. This human, and everyone in this neighborhood, will be our contributions to the cause!"

From a god's-eye view, it seemed like only one Bakatan warrior was chasing Li Xinghe. However, in reality, ten others had already formed a massive encirclement, closing in to trap him.

Li Xinghe, oblivious to the trap, continued his desperate flight. The scrawny man and his group had been scattered and slaughtered, leaving no trace. As for Lin Qun, he remained hidden in the shadows, continuing his deadly ambush.

His gaze was icy.

He had already killed four Bakatans.

His energy dropped to six points.

Without hesitation, he pulled out an energy restoration potion, instantly refilling it to nine points. At the same time, he leveled up.

Now at Level 3, he needed 400 experience points to reach Level 4. All his attributes saw an increase. His physique rose from 9 to 10, enhancing the cap of his Headshot Skill.

Now, he could headshot targets with up to 20 physique points.

This was a critical part of Lin Qun's plan.

The black-armored Bakatan captain's physique was too high for him to defeat before. But by leveling up through killing these "small fry," he could increase his own strength.

If he kept at it, he would eventually blow the captain's head off!

One by one, the Bakatans fell, their heads bursting under Lin Qun's unerring gaze. By the time only three remained, Lin Qun had reached Level 4. His physique increased to 11, allowing him to headshot targets with up to 22 physique points.

At last, his gaze locked onto the black-armored captain.

The captain, now visibly alarmed, realized something was wrong. But before he could react, his head exploded under Lin Qun's cold, precise aim.

Headshot successful. Target eliminated.
