Chapter 15 - Interrupted

Lyra's phone rang, the sudden interruption pulling her away from their intimate moment. She quickly reached into her purse and answered the call, her voice shifting to a more serious tone as she spoke, leaving Travis standing there, feeling the tension between them snap.

' I think I should leave, ' he thought, his mind calculating the situation as he glanced back at her. ' I didn't necessarily plan on making out with her today. It feels too early for that.'

With a quiet exhale, he turned away and stepped back into the room, his thoughts swirling. He watched her for a moment, the way she moved fluidly as she spoke into the phone, her expression changing as she focused on the conversation. He needed a moment to clear his head, so he made his way toward the bathroom that was conveniently attached to the room.

Once inside, he went through the motions, but his mind wandered, reflecting on his complicated feelings. As he stood at the sink, looking up at the ceiling, a heavy sense of longing hit him.

' I miss Mariana already, ' he thought, his chest tightening at the thought of her.

' Oh, I miss you too, babe. But I'm mad you're thinking about making out with another girl while you've got me. '

' Come on, babe, you know it's only business, ' he responded silently, feeling the weight of the moment.

Her voice came back, even more playful than before.' I'm joking. Fuck the hoe over for me. I'd love to see her beg for your cock, okay honey? '

' Don't worry, I will. But you should be getting your pussy ready for me when I get back, ' he thought, the words raw and intense.

' Wow, you talk big. I hope you last as big as your words, she shot back, ' her playful challenge sparking something deeper inside him.

' Can't wait to fuck you senseless,' he thought, the words dripping with desire.

' Me too, babe. Now get back to work, ' she teased, the last part like a reminder of what awaited him.

The bathroom seemed suddenly too small as the image of Mariana lingered in his mind. He flushed the toilet, washing his hands quickly before stepping back out of the bathroom.

When he entered the room, he found Lyra sitting on the bed, her posture relaxed but her eyes sharp. The air between them still crackled, but now there was a new weight to it—one that neither of them was willing to acknowledge just yet.

"Yo, what's up?" Travis asked as he approached her, his tone casual but with a hint of curiosity.

"Nothing, just work problems," Lyra replied, her voice softening for a moment. She paused before adding, "I think I should go now, honestly."

"Oh, well that's okay. I was thinking the same, actually. Let's walk out together," he said with a slight smile, relieved by the ease of the moment.

She nodded in agreement, following him as they walked through the hallway. The sounds of laughter, music, and muffled voices from the rooms around them filled the air, a reminder of the ongoing chaos inside the mansion. The noise made them both chuckle.

Without warning, Lyra suddenly stopped, her playful grin spreading across her face as she knocked on one of the nearby doors. "Could I join?!" she shouted with a laugh, her voice carrying down the hallway.

Before Travis could even respond, she sprinted away, a burst of energy and mischief in her every step. Laughing, Travis followed her, matching her pace as they both ran down the hallway, their laughter ringing through the house.

They finally made it downstairs, and without a second thought, they burst out the front door and into the cool night air. The door shut behind them with a soft thud, and they kept walking, still unable to stop laughing.

"Why would you do that?" Travis asked, still catching his breath as they strolled down the driveway.

"What can I say?" Lyra grinned, shrugging with exaggerated innocence. "I'm a troublemaker."

"You really are," Travis replied, shaking his head with a grin of his own.

They made their way out of the property, and as they reached the street, Travis watched as her car pulled up in front of them. Lyra turned toward him, her smile bright under the streetlights.

"I enjoyed our small yet fun time," she said, her voice light and teasing. "Could I get your number?"

"Why, of course," Travis answered, already pulling out his phone. He entered his contact info, then, with a slight smirk, opened her Bluetooth settings and connected his phone to hers. He handed her the phone back with a knowing smile.

"I enjoyed it as well," he said, his voice calm but sincere. "I hope to see you again, Lyra."

She smiled back, her eyes locking with his. "Same," she replied, her voice a little softer now. "Well, bye."

Lyra walked towards her car, the driver opening the door for her as she slipped inside. Travis stood there for a moment, watching her car pull away, feeling the cool night air on his skin. As the car turned the corner and disappeared from view, he took one last glance at the now-empty street.

As soon as he was sure he was out of her line of sight, he began walking briskly, keeping pace with her car from a distance. The quiet hum of his phone filled the silence as he quickly opened a file, sending a carefully crafted one to her phone. His fingers moved quickly, setting up a permanent connection between their devices.

' As hackers say in Disney movies… I'm in! ' he thought with a grin, feeling the familiar thrill of success as the connection was completed. He couldn't help but chuckle to himself, a sense of satisfaction settling in his chest.

Travis quickly called an Uber, the car arriving shortly to take him back to his apartment. The ride was quiet, but his mind was buzzing with thoughts of what had just happened.

As the car navigated through the streets, he couldn't suppress a smile.

' I wonder what Mariana has in store for me tonight, ' he thought, feeling a wave of anticipation wash over him.

The Uber pulled up outside his apartment, and Travis stepped out, stretching as he walked up the stairs. His footsteps echoed through the hallway, the familiar sound soothing him.

He couldn't shake the feeling that something exciting was waiting for him inside. As he reached the door and unlocked it, the silence inside was almost deafening.

He stood for a moment in the doorway, the weight of the quiet settling over him. But then, as if on cue, he heard her voice—a soft, inviting sound calling to him from the bedroom.

His pulse quickened. Without thinking twice, he shrugged off his jacket, dropping it carelessly to the floor as he walked toward the bedroom, each step filled with purpose. The anticipation built with every movement, his body aware of the warmth and intimacy waiting for him behind the door.

' I can't wait, ' Travis thought, a smirk tugging at his lips as he unbuttoned his shirt, the fabric sliding off his shoulders.

As he entered the bedroom, his mind was focused on one thing—Mariana and whatever surprise she had prepared for him tonight.
