Chapter 9 - Chapter Nine

Astra's POV:

I watched in horror as Morak pushed Marcus to the ground and snatched the sword from his grasp. Morak's eyes gleamed with malevolence as he raised the sword, its blade glinting in the dim light of the cave.

"Finally, I have it!" Morak exclaimed, his voice dripping with triumph.

Marcus tried to fight him but Morak infected him with his claws.

Ike's eyes narrowed. "I knew there was something off about you."

Morak's smile grew wider. "Yes, from the start, I was a demon who made a deal with Mr. Castor. And now, to complete the deal, Astra and Marcus must die!"

Morak lunged at me, his claws extended. But James was quick to react, shooting Morak and sending him stumbling back.

Morak's eyes blazed with fury as he used his telekinesis to push James aside. He came at me again, but Ike intervened, his demonic abilities flaring to life as he fought Morak.

The two of them clashed in a flurry of punches and kicks, their strength and speed evenly matched. Morak unleashed a blast of hellfire, but Ike dodged it easily, his eyes blazing with determination.

But despite his best efforts, Ike was no match for Morak's superior strength and cunning. Morak overwhelmed him, sending him crashing to the ground.

As I watched in horror, Marcus began to transform. His body contorted and twisted, his skin becoming pale. His eyes turned black filled with darkness, and he let out a blood-curdling scream.

My eyes were wide with terror as I stumbled back, My hands covering my mouth. James's face was set in a grim expression, his gun still trained on Morak.

Marcus's transformation was complete, and he was now a mindless, demonic creature. He charged at us, his eyes fixed on me with a malevolent glare.

Mike tried to stop him, but Marcus was too strong. He overwhelmed Mike, and Claire hit him with a stone, trying to distract him. But Marcus was relentless, and he pushed Claire aside, his eyes fixed on Sarah.

Ike intervened, fighting Marcus with all his might. But Morak was still a threat, using his hellfire to destabilize the cave. The ground began to shake, and the sound of crashing rocks filled the air.

Morak smiled, his eyes gleaming with triumph. "It's done," he said, as he turned and walked away. "My deal with Mr. Castor is complete."

But I wasn't going to let him get away with it. I focused all my energy, using my telekinesis to protect us from the cave-in. The rocks and debris hovered in mid-air, suspended by my powers.

It seems the energy of the sword must have affected me somehow giving me powers.

As the dust settled, I saw Marcus, still in his demonic form, charging at me. James's face was set in a grim expression, his gun trained on Marcus.

"Astra, I'm sorry," James said, his voice barely above a whisper.

And then, he pulled the trigger.

Marcus's body crumpled to the ground, his eyes frozen in a malevolent glare. I felt a wave of grief wash over me, and I stumbled back, my eyes filling with tears.

James's face was etched with sadness as he turned to me. "Astra, I'm so sorry."

I shook my head, unable to speak. The weight of my grief was crushing me, and I couldn't bear the thought of living without Marcus.

We all sat in stunned silence, the only sound the quiet sobbing that escaped my lips. It was a moment of unspeakable sadness, one that would stay with me forever.

Ike's POV:

I held Sarah close, trying to comfort her as Astra sobbed uncontrollably. We sat in silence for a long moment, the only sound Astra's quiet weeping.

Finally, Astra stood up, her eyes red and puffy. "We need to keep moving," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "But first, we need to bury him. We can't leave his body like this."

I nodded, feeling a sense of respect for Marcus. I dug a hole, and we buried him, saying a few words to honor his memory.

As we finished, Astra turned to James. "Promise me that when all this is over, you'll come back here and give him a proper burial."

James nodded, his eyes filled with sadness. "I promise, but don't worry, the both of us will come back to give him a proper burial. You seem as if you're going to die before this is over. Well, I won't let that happen."

James hugged Astra tightly, and I could sense the deep bond between them. But as I watched, I noticed that something was bothering Astra, something she wasn't sharing with the rest of us. I made a mental note to find out what it was.

We continued on our journey, reaching the river side of the island. But to our dismay, we found out that Morak had taken the boat.

Astra's eyes narrowed. "He has the sword, which means there's only one place he'll go: Gahena. We have to find a way to Egypt and go to the Temple of Gahena to end all this."

Claire frowned. "How can we do that if we don't even have a boat to take us off this island?"

Mike spoke up. "We'll make a float. All we need is some wood, ropes, and some stuff, and we'll definitely make a float that'll take us out of here."

I nodded, using my demonic strength to cut down some trees and break up the timber into pieces for the float. We worked together, using a long piece of clothing to make a sail and tying some plants together to create a makeshift frame. Astra used her telekinesis to hold everything in place, and I made a paddle to propel us through the water.

As we set off, Astra used her telekinesis to make the float stable and add some force to make it go faster. She also pushed the sail forward, catching the wind and propelling us forward.

We spent hours on the ocean, the sun beating down on us as we floated towards the city. The others were armed with guns loaded with silver bullets, ready for any danger that might come our way.

As the day wore on, the city came into view, its towering skyscrapers and apocalyptic streets a welcome sight after our ordeal on the island.

We paddled towards the shore, our float scraping against the sand as we came to a stop. We climbed off, stretching our tired muscles and looking around at the familiar sights of the city.

We had made it back, but our journey was far from over. We still had to face Morak and stop him from unleashing hell on earth. I steeled myself for the battles ahead, knowing that we would have to fight with all our might to save the world.

Moraks POV:

I arrived at the city, the Sword of Azaddon held tightly in my grasp. "Finally, my deal with Mr. Castor is done," I said to myself, a sense of triumph washing over me. "This body is now fully mine!"

I walked into the city, and the demon-possessed bodies moved around me, their eyes fixed on the sword. As they sensed its energy, they came to me, their faces twisted in a malevolent grin.

"Brethren, I've done it!" I exclaimed, raising the sword above my head. "I've acquired the Sword of Azaddon! All I have to do now is go to Gahena, and this world will be ours!"

The demon-possessed bodies glowed and sneered in support of me, their eyes fixed on the sword. I felt a sense of power and control wash over me, and I knew that nothing could stop me now.

I noticed a group of humans watching us from the top floor of a skyscraper. I pointed the sword at the building, and the demon-possessed bodies ran towards it, breaking in and killing and infecting the humans hiding there.

I stood back, watching in amazement as the chaos unfolded before me. I heard the screams of the people inside, and I felt a sense of joy and satisfaction. This was what I had been working towards, and it was finally happening.

A man and woman managed to escape the building, running for their lives. I blasted the man with hellfire, watching as his body burned away to nothing. His soul was also consumed by the hellfire, and he was completely disintegrated.

I pulled the woman close with my telekinesis, using hellfire to burn her while holding her in place. She screamed in pain as the hellfire consumed her, her body burning away to nothing. Her soul was also destroyed, and she was gone.

I walked away, feeling a sense of satisfaction and power. I took a motorcycle and drove to the airport, where I commandeered an aircraft and flew to Egypt.

As I arrived in Egypt, I came out of the airport and went into the streets. I raised the sword above my head, and the demon-possessed bodies followed me, their eyes fixed on the sword.

I took a tricycle and drove to Gahena, the temple looming before me. I saw demons in their black smoke form coming out of the temple, and I knew that I was getting close.

As I entered the temple, I saw a demonic symbol on the floor, the gateway to hell. It was only open by a bit, but I knew that I could open it fully.

"The gateway is open by only a bit," I said, my voice echoing off the walls. "But I shall open it up fully and let the full force of hell into this world, where I shall rule them all. This world is mine!"

I used all my strength to stab the center of the demonic symbol with the sword, feeling a surge of power as the gateway opened fully.

As I smiled, more demons flew out of the portal in full force, their eyes fixed on me with a malevolent glare. I knew that I had unleashed hell on earth, and I was ready to rule over the chaos that would ensue.
