Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: Mysterious

Swish

An arrow penetrated the roaming bull.

The next moment, a sword separated its head.

Collecting the carcass in his storage ring, Raushan, with his chubby body, couldn't help but ask,

"Leader, how far do we have to go?"

"Don't worry. We've reached."

They moved toward their target while also hunting beginner beasts along the way.

Five minutes later...

"Rest for five moments."

Sweating heavily, Raushan sat on the ground, panting for air.

"Hey Rahul, do you still have stamina?"

"I'm ready."

"Let's go inspect the wolf territory."

Rahul nodded and rose from his seat.

"You guys take care. We're going to inspect."

"Take care, leader."

After moving 15 to 25 steps, Rahul now stood before a small hill.

"Are the wolves there?"

"Yeah."

Without delay, Rahul swiftly climbed the hill and noticed the cave, cavities, and spaces between the rocks.

"Yeah, they live there."

"Is it possible for us to kill them?" Rahul asked, noting the plain terrain with no trees to provide coverage for an archer.

"Don't you mean... use those boulders?"

"Are you crazy? We could get surrounded!"

"Exactly. That's what we want since this hunt will be against time. We'll surround you, and your job is to maim their legs."

"They will attack in groups. I'm confident, but if it costs human lives, I don't know."

"I trust you, and it isn't that difficult as long as we don't panic. It's all psychological."

Rahul finally shrugged his shoulders.

If any issues arise, I'll find a way.

"Okay, I'm ready."

"Great. Let's go."

...

"What?! Aman, are you crazy?!"

Everyone in the group was speechless, but Aman remained calm.

"We've lived here for at least five years. What do we have? Nothing. Do you still want to go and hunt beginner Wooden Men every day? We have a good archer and also a mount."

Pouring out his frustration, Aman gave his opinion and sat down on a boulder.

"Give it some thought. Rahul has also agreed."

Everyone gave him a blank stare.

Rahul shrugged his shoulders.

"Competition is fierce. I only believe in planning and fists."

Pondering for a moment, he took a jar from his storage ring.

"This is poison given by the leader. He invested in it, so I agreed."

After coming out of deep thought, Munna agreed.

"My weapon is a spear, so I can hold a larger area."

In the end, Rishikesh and Raushan sighed.

"Okay, let's go."

...

Taking position on a higher boulder five meters tall, Aman gave the order.

"We're now at the highest position, so we have the advantage. Don't panic and just follow my orders."

"Rahul, you take the center. Munna, Raushan, and I will deal damage, while Rishikesh will be with you."

"Leader, one question is bothering me."

"Ask."

"Why don't you use your beast? This mission can be dangerous."

Rahul seriously thought about it. The previous day had been easy, so he hadn't used his beast because they didn't use. But now, the mission was quite lethal, considering that he was faking being a beginner. Still, no one had summoned their beasts.

But Aman's next words froze Rahul.

"We were all orphans and given a choice to go on an adventure. Naively, we agreed and got stuck."

Everyone shrugged their shoulders.

"At that time, we were 15. Today, we're over 20 but still haven't succeeded."

Rahul pondered deeply.

He gave it some thought and said, "Sorry, Leader. But I'm proud that you guys' nature didn't change."

"Okay, no need to be sorry. Since you're a teammate, you're eligible to know."

"Okay, the wolves are coming."

However, Rahul summoned his Emberfluff.

"Buddy, go and stand on the front line."

Meow!

Jumping from his shoulder, Emberfluff's size increased and fully transformed into the shape of a tiger.

Roar!

"Ready!"

Thunk!

Thunk!

A group of 100 to 150 beginner wolves and 10 to 15 elite wolves was coming toward their target.

"We're screwed!"

"Calm down! I don't want any negativity. Focus on what I said."

Calmly standing, Rahul's eyes flickered.

Misjudgment.

A mysterious batch.

The next moment, he shrugged his shoulders.

Meat fry.

"Archer!"

Swish!

Swish!

A bullet and an arrow tore through the air. One hit a wolf's head, and the other penetrated its eye.

Crash!

The beginner wolf, unable to bear the damage, rolled on the ground while other wolves jumped over it.

Swish!

Swish!

Swish!

Arrows and bullets continued to reduce their numbers. But as if ignoring their dying teammates, the wolves kept moving, bloodthirsty for the intruders.

As the wolves entered the periphery, Emberfluff roared.

"Buddy, your majesty is lacking," Rahul teased.

As if those words penetrated his heart, Emberfluff's eyes glowed, and he roared again.

A shockwave erupted, thrashing the wolves.

The wolves caught in the range of the shockwave slumped to the ground, blood flowing from their eyes, ears, and noses.

"This pet is... mysterious?"

"Hmm." Rahul nodded. There was no reason to hide it.

"We got a lottery! Bro, why didn't you tell us earlier?"

"You didn't ask."

"....."

"You don't know how tense we were. We weren't seeing wolves but death. Since now we have a mysterious pet, we have a chance."

"That's why you guys were quiet?"

"If not, Rishikesh would've been chattering," Munna exposed.

"Okay, we're out of danger, but that doesn't mean we're safe. Focus on the hunt now."

Though Aman said this, Rahul noticed the tension and sweat on Aman's face had turned to relief.

A jumping wolf with flaring claws soared through the air.

Clank!

The wolf's claws collided with Aman's sword. The next moment, an arrow penetrated the wolf's skull, and it slumped lifelessly to the ground.

"Rahul, we can handle the beginners."

"Okay, I'll target the elite wolves. Rishikesh, you take the jumping ones."
