It had been years since the curse and the prophecy Luna, the white wolf, laid upon the Tenebrous pack. The Terrakia and Aqueoni wolves never knew what happened to the Luminari pack. After years of questioning, they still couldn't get answers.
Alpha Felix had been tirelessly searching for the last white wolf, Elisa, but to no avail. He had soiled his hands with blood, and now he had to pay with his dear life.
"It was time to pay for his crimes," he thought, recalling all the curses laid upon him. "Maybe she was just bluffing," he said.
Until a faithful day, Felix's mate, Rhenna, bore him a successor, Lewis, really late. Felix forgot all about the curse, thinking Martha was just saying rubbish, until the darkness took over.
Everywhere in his city was covered in darkness, and he was scared to his bones. The fear in his eyes was evident as he knew death was knocking at his door already.
"Lewis, call your mother," Felix said. The little pup went to get Rhenna.
"Rhenna, it's happening; the curse is here to take us out. Get me a dagger. Hurry up," Felix said.
"Father, what's wrong? You look weak and dull; are you sick?" Lewis asked.
Felix explained the curse to Lewis, telling him that Rhenna would have to kill him to save their pack. Lewis was told to go to his room and not come out.
Rhenna took the dagger, her hands shaky and scared of losing her mate. Before she could do it, the darkness took over their bodies, turning them to dust.
Lewis came out of his room, crying and trying to hold their hands, but they disappeared before his very eyes.
Weeks later, Elisa was with her mate, Joel, when her grandmother, Mavis, came.
"It's happening," Mavis said.
"What's happening?" Elisa asked.
"Felix is dead, Elisa," Mavis replied.
Elisa was stunned; she looked at Joel, too, who was shocked by the sudden news.
"Your mother happened; the curse has started, and only a pure white wolf of pure blood can help with their redemption. You, Elisa, you're a descendant of a pure blood; that's why you both must be careful."
Elisa had the ability to be immortal when she reached a certain stage in her age. Unless she was killed, she could never die.
"Your mother, my child, had the power of immortality, and she used that for a greater advantage."
Days turned to weeks, weeks turned to months, and months turned to years. Elisa lived for centuries without aging. Her mate and grandmother died many years back, leaving her in a world of sorrows.
Sometimes she wished she had died with them, but because of the purpose she was to impact on the chosen one, she had to live for centuries.
A new world was formed after the war between the three clans, and some decided to mate with different packs to start their own clan.
Here's the revised passage:
The Aqueoni pack had vanished, leaving only two new species: the Khronos Pack, an omega group formed by rogue werewolves, and the Vykros Pack, a powerful breed with a mix of brown and black genes.
Elisa's eyes fluttered open, and she was met with the harsh reality of her new world. The downfall of the white wolves had left her alone, scared, and determined to fulfill her destiny.
She remembered her mother, Luna's, words echoing in her mind. "Elisa, you are the Last White Wolf. You are the only one who can restore balance to our world."
Elisa's heart swelled with determination as she thought about her journey ahead. She knew it wouldn't be easy, but she was ready to face whatever challenges came her way.
It was the second century already, and a she-wolf was in labor, pushing hard, trying to bring the Redeemer into the world. The baby was finally out, but the power it possessed made the mother too weak.
"Take care of my child," she said. "Name her Astrid," and she gave up the ghost.
"I'll protect you, child," Elisa said, while she carried the child. "Staying in this wicked world for two centuries because of you isn't something easy."
Sixteen years had passed since Astrid's birth, and she now possessed features reminiscent of Elisa's mother, Luna. Though Elisa couldn't tell Astrid about her powers until she was an adult.
"Astrid," Elisa called out.
"Yes, Nana," Astrid replied, coming as soon as she was called.
"Astrid, I'll be going out for a while; please don't leave this environment."
"But why, Nana? It's really dangerous outside."
"I won't go out, Nana; no need to worry."
As soon as Elisa left, Astrid was left alone in the small cottage. She kept herself occupied by reading a book.
"Finally, some alone time; now I get to finish this story about werewolves. Sometimes I wonder if werewolves exist," Astrid said.
As she was lost in her reading, she heard a voice call out her name.
"Who's there?" Astrid asked, and there was no reply.
"Maybe I'm just overthinking things."
Astrid continued her reading when the voice called out her name again.
"Who's there?" she asked, her voice firm.
"This isn't funny. Show yourself."
"I'm within you, Astrid," the voice replied. "I'm your second half."
"My second half?" Astrid laughed. "I'm sure I'm just hallucinating."
"You're not hallucinating, Astrid," the voice said. "I'm your wolf. My name is Akira."
Astrid's eyes widened in shock.
"When your Nana comes back, she'll explain everything to you," Akira said.
Akira was angry; why would Elisa keep this from Astrid? What was she hiding?
It was late in the night when Elisa arrived. As she entered, she saw Astrid wide awake, seated on a chair.
"Nana, am I really human?" Astrid asked, her voice trembling.
"Where's all this coming from, Astrid?" Elisa replied, her eyes filled with concern.
"Nana, just answer my question."
"You're not human, Astrid," Elisa said, her voice firm. "You're a wolf."
"Nana, you're joking, right?" Astrid's eyes widened in shock.
"Joking?" Elisa's expression was serious. "You wanted to know the truth, right? Now you know. I'm over two centuries old; I've lived for years. I'm alive because of you."
"You can't be serious, Nana," Astrid said, her voice shaking. "Maybe I'm having a dream because this isn't real at all."
"It isn't a dream," Elisa said, her eyes filled with a deep sadness. "I knew this day would come sooner than I thought. After I'm done fulfilling my purpose to you, my time on earth will be over."
Astrid looked at her Nana, confusion and fear etched on her face.
"You're a pure wolf, born into this world for a purpose, Astrid," Elisa said, her voice filled with conviction. "You're the Last White Wolf of the Luminari pack."
