"The Jiménez Cartel, as reckless as the Wolves and unafraid of this man, someone even I didn't want to challenge." Dante was seated in a café in the city, receiving a detailed report.
He had learned more about the Jiménez Cartel through Julia, and it was clear that becoming their enemy would be a bad decision. At least Dante was fortunate that they didn't know him, though he certainly knew them.
"The Jiménez Cartel is a drug organization founded by Alicia Jiménez and her brother, Diego Jiménez. The leaders of the Jiménez Cartel are quite unique—they love each other as siblings, but they're inflexible."
"Do we know if they've tried to kill Felipe?"
"They've made more attempts abroad than in their own country. That's why the man sought the protection of the Sons of Anarchy."
Everyone sought the protection of the Sons of Anarchy because it was the closest thing to having a private army capable of causing mass destruction when necessary.
In the end, Dante knew something like this would happen, but he was prepared for the consequences.
"Changing the subject, how's Julia's work been these past few days?" Dante was curious, so he had placed intensive surveillance on the woman.
William looked at him and presented some data: "We've installed new servers where our data sources are being filtered."
"Also, a way to contact us without relying on monitored networks."
"That doesn't matter. What does matter is that we can communicate without the government knowing it's us." This was why Dante needed Julia's help, though she also depended on him.
She was incredible. Even her own logistics workers held her in high regard, which was why he had decided to verify her work.
Even though he didn't trust her, this was a job where most of the time, you had to make deals with the devil. Dante had his own ways of handling stress, and this time, he was risking it all.
"What about the farms?"
"We've built three in total; nine more are still under construction."
Dante nodded slightly, and at that moment, someone approached, murmured a few words to William, and he said, "It seems Ghost has expressed his gratitude."
"Has he responded to my proposal?"
William shook his head and explained: "He sent some gifts. He mentioned that he's moving to a farm and expressed his appreciation through these presents."
"He didn't need to bother."
"But this gesture might make them feel much better after we helped him with his problem. As for whether they found out who orchestrated the attack, we still don't know."
Dante was aware that an old associate of James St. Patrick had ordered the attack on his organization, but he had no intention of sharing those secrets.
Nor that James' lover was a prosecutor working closely with the FBI on his case.
To share certain things, Dante needed to receive something in return, and so far, all he had received was gratitude in the form of gifts.
"Keep the surveillance on Julia."
"Understood, boss."
