Raizen High
It was break time, Shido sat inside his classroom, resting his chin on his palm as he gazed out at the dark, overcast sky. The clouds still loomed heavily, much like the confusion swirling in his mind.
Earlier, Kotori had punched him so hard in the gut that he had almost coughed up his intestines. Yet, just as he braced himself for a second hit, she had suddenly kissed him.
His fingers absentmindedly brushed against his lips as he recalled the moment.
'Was she affected by how close Tohka and I were acting? Or… was she just jealous?'
The thought made Shido smile wryly, and he let out a deep sigh. Kotori was unpredictable, one moment she was furious, the next, she was… stealing his lips?!
Yet, despite the lingering ache in his stomach from Kotori's punch, a slight smile unconsciously formed on Shido's lips. He initially thought that he didn't have a chance with Kotori, after all, they were siblings. And even in the canon, Kotori had always acted like a classic tsundere, and a bossy one at that, making it nearly impossible for the original Itsuka Shido to make any real progress in their relationship.
No matter how close they were, no matter how much their relationship felt different at times, there was always that invisible boundary between them.
As Shido gazed at the dark sky outside, he exhaled softly.
'Maybe… I should just let nature take its course.'
Just as Shido was lost in thought, a shadow suddenly loomed over him, blocking part of his vision.
Blinking in confusion, he looked up, only to be met with Origami's expressionless face, staring at him in complete silence.
She said nothing. She simply stood there, her gaze locked onto him, as if analyzing his every move.
"What's wrong, Origami?" Shido said with a smile, clearing up all the thoughts about Kotori.
When he saw Origami not doing anything, Shido didn't react that much as he was already used to her strange behavior. However, as he observed her more closely, his eyes landed on the small box she was holding, neatly wrapped in a beautiful handkerchief.
"That is…" Shido muttered, an idea suddenly forming in his mind. His gaze slowly shifted from the box back to her face, curious to confirm his suspicion.
Yet, the moment he did, he froze.
Origami's expression remained as blank as ever, but… her face was noticeably redder. It was subtle, but for someone as emotionless as Origami, it was the equivalent of someone panicking after getting caught doing something embarrassing.
Shido's smile widened in amusement.
'How cute…'
The sight of this normally serious and cold sergeant showing such a girly, bashful side of herself was unexpectedly adorable, so much so that Shido couldn't help but enjoy the moment a little longer.
However, even though Shido had already witnessed Origami's deeply vulnerable and feminine side when they were in the process of lovemaking, he still felt genuinely happy to see her slowly regaining her human emotions.
"Shido, I made you a lunchbox." Origami presented her handmade lunchbox to Shido after she recollected herself. She was now back again to her previous emotionless state.
"For me?" Shido asked again without taking his eyes off Origami.
"Yes." Origami on the other hand didn't back off and stared back at him, yet her gaze was different from him. Shido could feel an intense desire coming from her eyes as if she was ready to devour his whole body whole. This caused Shido to reveal a wry smile as Origami was being too horny even in school.
Shido decided to ignore the subtle waves of lust radiating from Origami and instead focused on the lunchbox filled with love that she was offering him.
"Thank you, Origami," he said with a warm smile as he accepted the bento. "It just so happens that I didn't manage to make one for myself and Tohka today."
He let out an awkward laugh, recalling the real reason behind his lack of preparation. His mind flashed back to the events of last night, Tohka's endless energy, her insatiable demands, and how completely drained he had been afterward.
As soon as the school break started, Tohka immediately dashed toward the canteen, her face brimming with excitement.
Moments later, she returned, her arms overflowing with various kinds of bread. Melon bread, curry bread, yakisoba bread, and many others were piled up so high that it looked as if she had raided the entire bread section.
Shido's lips twitched as he stared at the ridiculous amount of food she had bought.
"How does she even eat all that?"
Logically speaking, with how much she consumed daily, she should have gained weight by now, but astonishingly, she hadn't.
Instead, it seemed as though all the nutrients she absorbed from the food were somehow… redirected elsewhere.
Shido's gaze unintentionally flickered downward.
'…Yeah. That explains a lot.'
