Chapter 2 - CHAPTER TWO

I woke up early the next morning. Since there was no school, I decided to take a long walk to clear my mind. Ha! Who am I kidding? I was hoping to see Justin again.

I wore a white top with yellow trousers, my yellow winter coat with white fur around the neck, and my black winter boots. I tied my hair into a ponytail and added a yellow hair bow. With my phone in hand, I stepped out of my room.

"Hmmm... Justin Hunter," Angel said as she walked out of her room, still in her pajamas.

I had breakfast and then left the house. After walking for a while, I got tired and sat on a bench by the roadside to relax. I bought a chocolate bar and took it out from my black purse, which was strapped around my waist. Just as I started browsing on my phone, I heard a voice.

"Hey?"

I looked up. Oh my God! It was Justin. He was finally talking to me. I must be dreaming.

"You're the girl from the restaurant yesterday," he said.

I just nodded. Oh my God, I felt like I was going to faint.

"I was wondering..." he started.

"I'm so sorry for bumping into you. I had no idea you were there. I'm so, so—"

"It's okay... it's okay. I'm not here to fight you," he interrupted.

"You're not?" I asked, still nervous.

"Could I know your name?" he asked.

"It's Ellie," I replied.

"Ellie? Short for what?"

"Elodie," I whispered, a habit I couldn't seem to shake.

"So it's settled then. I'll call you Ella instead," he said with a smirk.

"But everyone calls me Ellie," I replied.

"I'm not everyone," he said, still smirking.

Ugh. What a hot, annoying guy.

"I'm Justin," he said, extending his hand for a handshake.

Believe me, I already knew that, I thought to myself.

We took a long walk together, and finally, he spoke again.

"Would you go out with me Saturday night?" he asked.

"Um... I don't know," I hesitated.

"Please?" he said, using an adorable voice that was hard to resist.

"Sure," I finally agreed.

"I'll text you the address," he said, pulling out his phone.

"Here, your number?" he asked, handing me his phone.

I typed in my number and returned it to him. Then, he walked me back home.

"Oh my God, Angel! You wouldn't believe what just happened!" I squealed as I got home.

Angel was sitting on my bed while I plopped onto the big couch in my room.

"What happened? Let me guess... you saw Justin?" she said sarcastically.

"No... not just that," I said, getting up and moving closer to her.

"He talked to me," I whispered and fell onto the bed beside her.

"Well, Sleeping Beauty has finally found her prince to wake her up," she teased.

"Hold on, hold on... he even asked me out to dinner! Saturday night!" I sat up excitedly.

"Are you crazy, Ellie? Mom and Dad aren't going to let you go out with some boy, let alone at night!"

"Yeah, that's why you're going to help me," I said with a pleading smile.

"No way," she protested.

"Please, bestie?" I begged.

"I can't believe you're dragging me into this," she said, shaking her head as she left my room.

"It's Monday today... which means I have only four days left," I said, marking the date on my calendar.

"Huh... more like four years," I muttered, falling back onto the bed.

The day before Saturday

Friday evening, I stood in front of my wardrobe, contemplating what to wear. I wanted to keep it simple and normal. I didn't want him to think I was trying to seduce him or something.

"This is perfect!" I finally said, picking out an outfit.
