Chapter 4.
On the other side, by the coast of a deserted island surrounded by the sea, Clone Suzuki gazed at the endless ocean, thinking: "Now, it's time to explore the specifics of this world. I hope to find useful information on this deserted island." After that, Suzuki returned to the island to search for potentially useful information.
Leaving the coastline, Suzuki headed towards the center of the island.
This deserted island wasn't very large, about three kilometers in diameter, and it didn't even have a decent peak, just a forest in the center.
As he entered the forest, Suzuki felt a bit surprised: "Are these fruit trees? Why are there no leaves, just fruits? Could it be that
those round ones aren't fruits, but leaves?"
Using chakra to climb the trees, Suzuki easily picked a few fruits. The fruits were small and resembled apples, but he wasn't sure
if they were edible, so he only took a few and continued on.
Soon, he encountered unique creatures in the forest—three-legged beings that looked somewhat like rabbits. Upon seeing
Suzuki, they directly bounced away, moving very quickly!
Then, Suzuki saw fist-sized bees, stone-eating ants, and birds with wings nearly two meters wide...
Before he knew it, he had reached the coastline on the other side, where there was a reef, and occasionally the waves would
wash over the bottom of the reef. At the same time, there was an extremely damaged ship on the shore, appearing to be a small
part of the ship's stern.
Perhaps it had crashed into the reef due to wind and waves? But it might also just be an old boat that nobody wanted, pushed
here by the waves.
But it was good; this at least proved that there were civilized beings here!
Suzuki slowly approached the reef, able to see clearly that the wrecked ship wasn't very large, with only part of it submerged in
water and stuck in the sand and mud.
So, Suzuki began to dismantle the wreck while carefully searching through it.
Most of the items were useless, such as rotten empty wooden boxes, ropes that broke easily after being soaked for too long, and
a few plastic bags whose previous contents were unknown...
Before long, he made a remarkable discovery.
"This is..."
Suzuki found a newspaper in one of the wooden boxes, likely used by the original owner as padding.
The information on the newspaper shocked him: "Sea circle Year 1495, May 17—Report: The Golden pirate Lion, leading the Flying Pirate Crew, engaged in a fierce battle with the Roger Pirates in the New World Edvor Sea! After several days of fighting, during which a super storm erupted, Golden Lion suffered a crushing defeat under the Navy's brilliant pre-encirclement! The Flying Pirate Crew suffered heavy casualties, with nearly a thousand captured! The Flying Pirate Crew may
face extinction! The Roger Pirates escaped, and their whereabouts are still unknown!"
...
Golden Lion??? Roger??? And the Navy???
"So this is the world of pirates."
"And judging by the wear and tear of this newspaper, the Edd war Sea Battle probably happened not too long ago."
Suzuki squinted, carefully storing the newspaper, sitting on the reef by the coast, and calmly thought: "In the pirate world, I
remember the special product is the Devil Fruit! The abilities of the Devil Fruits are quite unique, and there are also Haki,
swordsmanship, and physical techniques that can be learned."
"Well... the gap between pirates and the ninja world shouldn't be too big. If the basic rules are consistent or similar, then
theoretically, Haki and swordsmanship could also be used in the ninja world. And the Devil Fruits, if I understand the principles,
I wonder if they can be replicated in the ninja world?"
"However, maybe it doesn't need to be so complicated."
"My current body seems somewhat similar to a shadow clone, so when it's retracted, I should also be able to bring certain things
back like a shadow clone."
Suzuki pondered the differences between the two worlds and the benefits he could gain.
"If I can learn abilities like Haki and swordsmanship here and bring them back, then my potential will be much greater than
before, and my growth rate will also be much faster!"
After making his guesses based on various factors, Suzuki stood up, jumped off the reef, and walked along the coastline while
thinking.
Suzuki thought to himself that first, he needed to survive on this deserted island, which was quite simple; he had chakra, there
was no shortage of food in the sea, the island also had plenty of plants, and making a freshwater filter wasn't difficult.
As for leaving this deserted island, he could wait a few days to see if there were any ships, and if there were, he could catch a
ride.
But if it were a pirate ship, Suzuki would still choose to play it safe.
After all, Suzuki's current strength is too weak, barely reaching the level of an ordinary Genin from Konoha, mainly due to a lack
of chakra; using a few Shadow Clone Jutsu would leave him drained.
However, if calculated in the pirate world, Suzuki felt he should be at the level of a bounty of a million. As for pirates with bounties over ten million, they seem to possess some special talents and abilities, and he wouldn't have much confidence in confronting them directly.
If he had to mention someone, the female pirate Alvida from the original work who wields a fang club, if her performance is similar to that in the anime, Suzuki's current strength should be enough to fight her. Of course, if he doesn't wait for a ship, he plans to make a simple raft; as long as the raft doesn't sink, it will suffice.
"Hisssss..." Suddenly, a large crab over two meters long emerged from the sand, its massive pincers seemingly capable of crushing human limbs. The crab appeared to be startled by Suzuki's movement and charged at him with its pincers raised.
Upon seeing this, Suzuki quickly reacted, channeling chakra to his feet and jumped backward, covering nearly a hundred meters in just a few seconds, moving away from the beach and reaching the edge of the island's forest to look for potentially useful weapons.
He picked up a few stones and broke off some branches. Just as the crab raised its massive pincers and approached rapidly, Suzuki swiftly turned around, channeled chakra to his arms, and threw the stones at the crab's eyes like shurikens.
The stones struck the crab's eye, which was larger than a human head, and lodged in it, causing blue-yellow blood to ooze from the wound. The crab, seeming to feel pain, recognized the danger and quickly changed direction, running toward the beach.
However, Suzuki followed closely, occasionally throwing stones at the crab's leg joints, and eventually stabbed a branch forcefully into the crab's head! Before long, the crab lay motionless.
Suzuki didn't rush; he poked the crab's brain with the branch again and, seeing it still didn't react, approached and grabbed one of its small legs to drag it back to the edge of the forest.
Afterwards, he wandered a bit in the forest, collecting some dry branches and hay, while also catching a few different small animals, including a three-legged rabbit, sparrows, and a creature resembling a duck. Then, he took out the fruits he had found earlier to avoid any toxic ones, or mainly to prevent accidentally eating a Devil Fruit.
Suzuki first fed some fruit pulp to the small animals and observed their reactions while eating. After a while, seeing that there were no abnormalities, he sighed in relief, took a small bite of the fruit, and found that it tasted very much like an apple.
So, is this the apple of the pirate world? It might not be, as the pirate world is quite vast with many species; perhaps it's just a specialty of this deserted island.
After finishing the apple-like fruit, Suzuki began to try making fire by drilling wood.
After a series of difficult failures, Suzuki was determined to learn a Fire Release technique as soon as possible so he could finally enjoy cooked crab.
