Chapter 10 - The return

After the school bell rang, a swarm of students poured out of the classroom. Seron was deep in thought, pondering the legendary sword. A wave of fear washed over him. He glanced at Erin and Wujda, who were smiling back at him, a stark contrast to their previous glances filled with malice and perhaps fear.

Erin looked at Seron, then at Aista who was standing with a friend.

"Miss Johnson, have you considered my proposal for cooperation?"

Aista looked at Seron and then around her. Everyone was staring at her intently. Would she accept the prince's offer and become part of the conflict between the prince and Seron, or would she decline?

Aista was nervous about Seron's reaction. She knew how crazy he was, how he was consumed by paranoia, and how fiercely jealous he could be.

She remembered the first time she had encountered her knight and how he had tried to threaten her into leaving, even going so far as to force her until she revealed that the knight was a girl, not a man.

"Your Highness, I am honored to be your partner, but I need my fiancé's approval. Just as you agreed to let Miss Gomez be Seron's partner, Seron must also agree."

Her words stung Erin. He hadn't agreed to anything and didn't even know she would be with Seron.

"I agree. Just as the prince has complete trust in his fiancée, I have complete trust in Miss Johnson."

Seron's words cut deep into Selena, who felt that Erin didn't trust her at all, that he didn't even see her as his partner.

Seron left, and before he did, he looked at the sword Erin was holding. It was a beautiful blue sword, but it was very old.

"Beautiful sword, but... want to sell it?"

"Oh, the sword. I found it near a pond... Do you want to buy it?"

"Yes, why not, how much do you want?"

"I don't want money, even though you're the richest person, but I'm still the prince of this country. But I want to make a bet."

"All the heroes in novels love betting. Didn't they tell them it's annoying?"

Seron grumbled with a smile and said,

"Your Highness, would you like to bet on a duel tomorrow?"

"Ha... how did you know... Yes, I want to bet. If you win, I'll give you the sword, but if I win, what will you give me?"

Seron whispered in Erin's ear and said in a low voice,

"I will help you reach the throne without any problems."

"And also, although I'm sure you don't hold a grudge against me, no matter what the results are, I want you to forget what happened."

People dispersed and each went to their room. While walking in the corridor, a voice stopped him from behind.

"Can we talk, Seron?"

"Aista, stick to the promise, we're over from the first day and we've talked more than twice already. Didn't you say we should consider ourselves strangers?"

"Tsk"

He clicked his tongue and looked at her sternly, then went to his room door.

"Clack, clack"

He closed the door forcefully as he entered.

Aista remained in her place, feeling angry with him. She bit her lower lip angrily and then left the place quickly.

"System, I want to learn a legendary-class swordsmanship technique and also learn magic from the legendary class."

[The system can provide legendary-level swordsmanship techniques, but there is no such thing as legendary-level magic. You must understand that magic is not treated in the same way as power. You will understand in time.

Legendary Swordsmanship Techniques

1. Rock Swordsmanship (1000 points)

2. Octopus (1000 points)

3. Lightning Art (1000 points)

4. The Lone Master (all your points (-: )

I hope you choose wisely (^_-)].

"Why is the last one more expensive than the rest?"

[^_^ Why are you asking about something obvious hohoho].

"Ah, damn it, I'll choose the last one."

[All your points have been deducted, you now possess the (Lone Master) technique, which is a legendary-level offensive combat technique. The technique was founded by a mercenary 90 years ago and died without passing on this technique, so you are the only user. When you fight in numbers greater than yours, you have an advantage by using this technique as it relies on dodging attacks directed by opponents and delivering counterattacks, and also has great speed but is weak in confined spaces because it is made for direct combat].

[Notice

If you win the duel tomorrow and take the legendary sword, you will earn a reward of (2000) points + an elixir that will make you gain a lot of mana].

[Notice, you are now the strongest competitor to the hero and therefore the story will try to make you a villain, so try to change your behavior and be more friendly with everyone].

Ciron felt invigorated after mastering the art and now knew how to duel like a pro.

At seven o'clock, Ciron headed to their meeting place.

Selena was waiting for Ciron, dressed in training clothes and holding a sword, looking nervous. Selena seemed very gentle.

"She doesn't seem evil at all. I mean, she seems more like a naive girl than the main villain of the story."

[Hoooh, open-ended mission

If you want her to stop being evil, make her forget her love for the hero and start falling for you (^_-)

Reward

One million points

Ten legendary-level prizes]

"Damn, how many missions do I have to complete??"

Ciron grumbled.

"Hello, Sir Ciron."

"Hello Selena, from now on you should call me Ciron without titles or any formal language."

"Then why did you cause a problem yesterday??"

She looked at him surprised, for yesterday he had insulted her because she hadn't bowed to him, and today he doesn't want formalities. What nonsense.

"Don't be surprised, I was angry yesterday because of the prince's actions. I didn't really care about that thing because we're all colleagues, but instead of treating me like a colleague, he treated the matter as if he was someone higher than me, so I hated it and got angry. I apologize."

"Apologize? You're strange, no, you're stranger than I remember."

She muttered in a low voice but Ciron heard her.

"Oh, did we know each other? I don't remember meeting you before."

Ciron had watched all the memories of the original Ciron but he didn't remember meeting Selena before.

"Ha, ... no, I just mean that your personality, as I heard, is different from what I heard about you."

"System question, is this girl the same Selena?"

[Yes, she is the same.]

"I'll ask you another question,

Has this girl in front of me traveled back in time?"

[Hehe, hehe, hehe, you really have a wild imagination, yes, she did travel back in time, specifically at the same time you started arguing with Prince hehe, hehe,]

"Miss Selena, I want to be your friend, is that possible?"

"Yes, no problem."

"Let's start training, I'll teach you a dueling technique I learned from a book, and also if you have another technique, don't be shy to refuse to learn my technique."

"No, I don't have any technique, so I hope to learn."

"Ha, ha, ha"

"Start with the correct stance."

Her grip on the sword was funny, and she held the hilt in a strange way, even for a beginner.

"Hit harder."

"Huff, huff."

"Move faster, you'll get hurt if you're lazy"

"Swish, swish, swish."

"Yes, like that."

"You'll be stronger if you get rid of the fear that makes your body stiff."

"How do I get rid of it?"

She looked at him determined to become stronger.

Ciron began to teach her the art. They started talking more friendly.

"I'll call you Ciron, is that okay?"

"Sure, can I call you Selin?"

"Sure, everyone close to me calls me Selin."

"Even the prince?"

"..."

"Sorry, I didn't mean anything."

"It's okay, I won't think about these things anymore."

"I'm sorry Ciron, I have to go, it's getting late."

"Don't worry, go and rest, I don't want us to train too much and at the time of the real fight, we're too tired to fight."

Selena left and Ciron continued training for a while.
