Amelia was still receiving treatment in her house. Though she wasn't fine with it because they are things she should have attended on but are still on hold at work because of her.
Alexander came to visit her at home.
"I miss you so much, I just can't wait for you to propose to me so we can get married, I am tired of all these, having to call you all days before you can come over"
"I want you to know that I miss you, just days now, you would be mine"
"You don't mean it? Days? I hope those days are under six months now"
Alexander smiled without uttering a word.
"Do you know what?" Alexander asked.
"What's that?" She was curious.
"I know you are worried about work, but I need you stop working, soon we would get married, I want you to concentrate on yourself Amelia"
Amelia smiled, "You know that the CEO isn't around right now, and I am the one handling the company, I didn't tell him I would be re-signing soon, what you told me about, I will have to think about it thoroughly"
Amelia sat there, struggling to reconcile her professional obligations with her desire for a life with Alexander. She bit her lower lip, hesitating as she processed his request for her to leave her work.
"Alexander, I appreciate your concern, but I have commitments to the company," she said, her voice laced with uncertainty. "I understand that you want me to focus on myself, but I don't know if I can just walk away from my responsibilities."
"It's fine, but when you have the chance to, please do that, do not worry about the responsibility, I am here to provide anything you want, I don't need my fiancee to stress herself, just tell me what you want and blink your eyes, you will see it provided for you darling"
Amelia was torn, Alexander's generosity and willingness to provide for her contrasting with her sense of duty and independence. She looked away for a moment, then turned back to him, her gaze conflicted.
"You're very kind, Alexander, but that's not the point. It's not about needing you to provide for me; it's about wanting to be able to provide for myself," she replied, her tone gentle but firm. "I appreciate your generosity, but I don't want to lose myself in our relationship."
"it's fine, I don't want to go against anything you say, but you need a week to rest"
"I am resuming tomorrow darling, they are somethings pending because of my inability to go to work, I need to be at work tomorrow to attend to them all"
"But what about your health dear?"
"I am fine, I am very fine now, that reminds me, what do you care to eat?"
"I have eaten before heading here, and I can't start stressing you, I am not please to hear that you are resuming tomorrow"
"Have you forgotten that we have a conference meeting tomorrow?"
"Ooh! My secretary should have message me concerning it"
"And now you see why I have to resume tomorrow and go through everything that has been done in the company and I must attend the conference meeting, I should have resumed today, but I just wanted to rest well"
"But can you see why I need to change my secretary, if not that you mentioned it I would have thought that tomorrow is just to be at work, so it's when I resume tomorrow then she would be informing me of this crucial meeting? I need to get my secretary changed to a competent one"
Alexander considered Amelia's words, the frustration of the situation beginning to subside. "You make a good point, Amelia," he said.
"I can't just replace her without giving her a chance to improve. Maybe she just needs more training and guidance. I'll talk to her when I get back to the office."
Amelia smiled, feeling like they were starting to find common ground. "I think that's a wise decision," she said. "And don't forget, I'll be there tomorrow too. We can tackle these issues as a team. Together we're stronger."
"As a team, with different companies" Alexander teased.
"What do you mean?...."...."Well, I get you, I am working for different company and you have a company yourself, that's rare if it were somewhere else, he wouldn't have had anything to do with me because I work with his rival"
"Your company is not my rival, not at all in which you are aware of, my company is the first in this country and even if your company is my rival, it has nothing to do with fallen in love with you, I will fall in love with you, and then make you mine"
Amelia smiled, "But do you think I would want to accept you?"
"Tell me, who would reject such a handsome man?
Alexander smirked playfully. "My dear Amelia, you might think you have the upper hand, but I assure you, you'll soon find yourself agreeing to marry me," he replied confidently. "I don't think anyone could resist my charm, let alone a beautiful, smart woman like you."
Amelia laughed, but there was a hint of blush on her cheeks. "Oh, you're quite the charmer, aren't you?" she teased. "I have to admit, I've never met anyone as persistent as you."
"Thank you darling, and I regret some things I have done though…."
"Things like what?* Amelia interrupted.
"I wish I have met you sooner, I love you so much Amelia"
"You met me sooner? You met me now? What's the difference? We are going to marry each other and that's what matter right now"
"Yes baby, I love you so much, I don't know, but I feel so glad knowing that you love me too"
"But, I am worried, I just think we should get married now, what are we waiting for? Why are we still waiting, I mean I need explanation"
