Chapter 1 - Lumina's Forbidden Yearning

I know it's forbidden to go to the human world because I am the daughter of an enchantress, the princess of Tranquil Fortress. I am Lumina, the only daughter of Queen Eldoria and King Zephyr. I have a brother named Aurelius, a prince.

Some people don't believe in fairies, thinking it's just fiction, but we're real. We're not only visible in this world because we reside in another realm.

We can visit the human world through a portal created by a sorceress, but there's a catch. We're not enemies; the sorceress in Tranquil Fortress is kind, but she asks for a bit of blood if you want to enter the portal to go to the human world.

I'm in my room with my friend Seraphina, the youngest daughter of my father's friend Celestian. Seraphina has an older sister named Thalassa, who is my brother's girlfriend.

"Lumina, you're daydreaming again!" Seraphina said irritably to her friend.

"Huh? Sorry, Seraphina, just lost in thought for a moment." Lumina said to her friend.

Lumina adjusted her posture on the bed, and Seraphina stood up from the bed and sat on the couch beside Lumina's bed.

"What are you thinking about? It seems deep." Seraphina asked her friend.

"What if we go to the human world?" Lumina stood up and walked to the mirror, running her fingers through her curly hair.

Seraphina was surprised by Lumina's statement because she knew how dangerous it could be to go to the human world.

"Are you out of your mind, Lumina? The queen and king have already told us that we're not allowed to go to the human world because it's risky." Seraphina said to Lumina, approaching her.

"Seraphina, why is it risky? Tell me, Seraphina." "I just want to see what's in the world of humans."

Lumina strongly stated her thoughts, turning away from Seraphina to face her.

"My mom died because of humans!" she shouted back at Lumina. "When I was 8 years old, my mom was killed because she went to the human world. When I was a child, I wanted a human toy, so I told my mom to go to the human world, but I didn't anticipate that when she exited the portal, there would be a person waiting for her, shooting her with a flaming arrow. Since then, humans know how to kill fairies using a flaming arrow."

"I blamed myself for what happened to mama. Papa locked me in the dungeon, and my sister was so angry about what happened to mama that she fought against me. Since mama died, they no longer consider me as their family, Lumina." Seraphina cried as she recounted her painful past.

"The humans are cruel, Lumina, they can kill even if we've done nothing wrong to them. That's why you're forbidden, Lumina." "I only need you, Lumina."

"Seraphina, is that why you forbade me?" "One day, I saw you. Your sister poured water on you. Last night, I saw your father slap you for an argument you had. I wanted to stop them from abusing you, but i couldn't because your father is also a king, they all have their rules."

"I'm sorry if I'm trying to go to the human world. That's why, when we met, you never mentioned your mom, and I never saw her with you because she's gone." Lumina approached Seraphina and hugged her tightly, and Seraphina hugged Lumina back.

"Stay strong, Seraphina. I'm m here for you, and I won't go to the human world if that's what you want." Lumina wiped the tears from Seraphina's eyes with her hands.

"Promise me that." Seraphina said to Lumina

"I promise." Lumina said.
