The madness, the disorder, the catastrophe and the famine. These were the five main plagues that were brought upon by the ermegence of the Reawkening Madness illusory, otherwise known as the Disease.
The Reawkening Madness Illusory was as what its other name stated, a disease.
But unlike the other usual diseases, the Reawkening Madness Illusory was not just a mere disease but instead was one of the most terrifying and calamitic disease to be ever faced by humanity, having caused the annihilation of about a third of humanity's population and animal population in the southern area of the northern continents
It was said that this disease that affected the physiological mentality and the brain neurons of living beings was as deadly and lethal as the Wintersperse disease.
The Wintersperse disease was another dreadful disease that had caused the withering and wilting of about a half of the world's vegetation, causing most of the lands to become apocalyptic wastelands, thus almost causing the world's land destruction.
The Reawkening Madness Illusory had emerged a few short years after the Wintersperse disease causing humanity to experience another tragedy.
This peculiar illness had caused a world wide pandemic on the world, surpassing even the dreadful Corona Virus that had caused an uproar during the peaceful era of the old days.
The scariest thing about the Reawkening Madness illusory was that its destructive impact was not its scariest part. Instead the most dreadful part of this disease was its creational impact.
After the emergence of this disease, a great number of people and animals perished, but there were also a relative few who survived. The survivors of this tragedy, came back unlike they were before.
The humans who experienced the Disease and survived, were left with large physiological traumas that succumbed them into madness which brought them tangible benefits and physiological harm.
The animals that did not perish under the Disease on the other hand did not experience the physiological madness experienced by humans but instead lost their savagery and bestial instincts.
This caused them to obtain greater intellect than that of humans, this also caused them to lead their fellow unevolved kind to retaliate against the tyranny of humanity's influence on them.
Luckily for humans, the evolved animals were very few and scarce, so the impact of the rebellion did not escalate to extreme levels.
After a few years of the emergence of the Reawkening Madness illusory, the world best scientists grouped up together in one of the last intact countries that was formerly known as United States of America, and was now formally known as the Fortune land.
The scientist spend years of research on those who survived the Disease, trying to figure its origins and its process.
The survivors were turned into test subjects and guinea pigs that were subjected into diabolical experiments.
After decades of research these great scientists were finally able to make some progress in their goals.
Although they were still unable to cure the Reawkening Madness illusory illness, they had still made a breakthrough in its prevention and thanks to that the number of lives that this disease kept on claiming began to staginate.
The scientists had processed a drug that could protect the human mind from the dreadful illness that attacked the brain cells of living things.
This drug unfortunately did not completely vanquish the chances of being infected by the Disease, but only reduced it to a ninety two percent chance.
In order to cover up for the remaining eight percent chance, the scientists and governments formed a new hospital therapy system that had to be attended by every civilian.
This therapy system was a therapy session that was conducted by a therapist to patients who were beginning to show signs of the Disease. Its purpose was to control the brain fluctuations of the patient and induce a certain mindset that would reject the intruding of the Reawkening Madness illusory.
They also reevaluated the medical professions of doctor, nurse and therapist.
These three professions were turned into high class professions that were highly important, even surpassing their previous value.
This made the already hard to attain professions to escalate in their rarity, it also made them to become the most high paying and most venered carriers, escalating the Doctor's carrier into a rank equaling equaling to that of a president or a faction ruler.
The hospital therapy system was a way for the world's governmental figures to control and counter those who attained the Disease.
Rules were also formed towards those who survived the Reawkening Madness illusory.
The rules stated that those who survived the Disease due to their physiological traumas and its extreme madness and unique effects, they were not allowed to live amongst other normal humans who hadn't experienced the illness.
This rule was placed in interest of public safety since these survivors were extremely mad and had no telling of what they could do.
The rules also stated that the survivors would be kept in large research facilities like mental hospitals were they would be treated and taken care of.
Those who refused to obide by these laws were subjected to severe punishment like execution by gun fire or they would be exiled into the dangerous and uninhabited wastelands.
Aside from these laws there was another one that targeted those who were about to contract the physiological illness.
The law stated that as soon as one started to experience the signs of illness that the Disease brought they would seek the attendance of a doctor or therapist immediately.
A few years after the emergence of these laws, inside one of the last intact cities, the city of Amagadolon, a dark haired teenage boy of average height stood before a large hospital building while focusing his gaze at a stone tablet located at the gate entrance.
'Imagination is the beginning of all creations, you imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine and last you create what you will,
Alex silently read the words on the sacred tablet. This words were the guiding words for the sick, left behind by the great rank B doctor, Doctor Runes.
Taking a deep breath the young boy then stepped forward passing the
large stone tablet and the two double gates. Ahead of him there was a large two story building that had a peculiar drawing displayed above its main entrance.
This peculiar drawing was a display of a human brain which was wrapped up in thick iron chains and stabbed with countless spears.
Staring grimly at the weird insignia of the hospital, Alex walked foward in a solemn manner.
He pushed open the two double doors that served as the main entrance of the building.
Once the doors were opened the solemn young boy emerged inside a dimly lit hospital corridor, on both the left and right side of the corridor, there were six door rooms with weird symbolic numbers.
The corridor seemed to stretch towards a wide and well lighted room.
Alex took another deep breath and walked foward with a steady but grim composure heading towards the visible wide lighted room.
A moment later he emerged inside a reception room with a blonde haired female attendant sitted at the reception desk, seemingly ready to assist Alex.
The young boy walked towards the female receptionist and suddenly said,
"Excuse me miss, l would like to book an appointment with the doctor "
The female attendant who had been maintaining a relaxed demeanor suddenly tensed upon hearing the young boy's words, with a serious expression she then asked,
"And what's is the purpose of your appointment?
Alex remained silent for a moment, deliberating over his choice of words. In the end he just replied in a depressed manner,
"l think I have contacted the disease"
The female attendant seemed to tense even further when she heard those words.
Picking up the landline phone on her desk she then suddenly made a call.
"Doctor Ander, we have a red situation"
After a few seconds of holding the phone the female attendant then turned her attention at Alex and spoke politely,
"The Doctor is currently busy now, you can take a sit at the waiting area and wait for him until he is done with what he is doing "
Alex was silent for a while and deliberated over his words, after an extended amount of time he suddenly asked,
"How long will he take?
"Not that long, you just have to wait for a period of eight minutes ", politely replied the female attendant.
She seemed to think of something and then offered a suggestion,
"Ofcourse you don't have to wait if you don't want to. Instead you can schedule the appointment to tomorrow morning "
Upon hearing this suggestion, Alex shook his head and said,
"Its okay, l don't mind waiting "
With that he went and took a seat at one of the arranged benches at the waiting area.
After about seven minutes later, the female attendant then called him over.
"The Doctor says he is now available "
After saying those words she passed him a room key card and directed him towards where to go.
Following the directions of the female attendant, Alex ascended the stairs and emerged on the upper floor of the building.
Once he was on the floor, he walked past the two doors at his left and stopped at the third door, which had the number ninety eight displayed on it.
Alex retrieved the room key card in his pocket and swiped at the door lock which was displaying a red light.
The moment he swiped the card, the red light displaying on the door lock suddenly changed to green and metal clanking sound sounded from the door indicating that it was now unlocked.
Alex pushed open the door and entered inside.
The room's interior had the same appearance as that of the reception room except for the fact that this one was smaller than the reception room.
There was even a reception desk and a blonde haired female attendant on it. The female attendant had the same appearance as the one downstairs.
Upon seeing the female attendant, a name suddenly flashed in Alex 's mind,
'A dead ringer '
Once Alex was inside the room, the female attendant who had been busy staring at some documents on her desk, suddenly lifted her head and casually said while pointing at the brown door on her left,
"The Doctor will now see you "
Alex simply nodded and moved towards the door, he then knocked on the door and once he received permission to enter from the person in the room ,he entered inside.
Inside the room there was a dark haired middle aged man with deep blue eyes, sitted on a small wooden desk.
The moment Alex entered the room, the middle aged man turn his gaze at him and spoke in a polite manner while gesturing him for a seat.
"Welcome, please take a seat-
No sooner than the doctor spoke did Alex interrupt him,
"Where is the real doctor? asked Alex with a serious expression.
The Doctor was momentarily stunned upon facing the young boy's question.
With a confused expression on his face he then asked,
"What are you talking about? , l am the Doctor"
Upon hearing his reply, Alex began to shake his head and asked seriously ,
"But are you real?
The Doctor at this moment began to carefully scruitinize Alex trying to discern the young boy's intentions. He suspected that the this kid was trying to pull a prank on him.
After an extended period of careful observation, the Doctor ended up not discerning the young boy's intentions. All he could tell was that the young man was serious with his questions.
Alex silently stood by the door patiently waiting for the Doctor's reply, a serious expression was currently displayed on his face.
After a few moments of silence and observation the sitted Doctor eventually sighed and asked,
"Young one do you have the Disease?
