There, Shadow learned the truth: the black blade was forged in the Age of Shadows, a time when powerful sorcerers used dark magic to wage war. The blade was a key to an ancient prophecy, said to either save the realm or plunge it into eternal darkness.
The prophecy also mentioned a "Knight of Two Fates," one destined to wield the blade. Shadow couldn't help but wonder if it referred to him.
