Year: 620 AD
After ten years of war, Antonius Severus' forces were defeated at the Battle of the Julian River in 612, which destroyed half of his army. At the naval battle of New Latium in 614, the Severian navy was destroyed by the legendary Classis Nova Romanorum, Marcus Theodosius Liberus who became the first naval leader in history to use the line of battle in a naval battle, from then on the Caesarian navy would use the line of battle until the end of their empire in 1648 AD.
During the years 615 to 619, battles were short and regular soldiers were sent to battle, while legions and grenadiers were holding back incursions by more indigenous tribes south of the Caesarian Empire, so during this period the war had stagnated and advances were incredibly slow when the winter period arrived, so both delimited their borders being the province of New Gaul, New Valentinian, New Scipio and the province of Saint Ambrose, which is a province where friars, priests and bishops were being held prisoner by native forces, among these figures was the bishop of New Rome, Romulus Gaius Liberus or Stephen I, Bishop of New Rome.

Province of New Gaul

One day ago
After the disastrous battle of Palatine Hill on September 15, 619, Antonius' entire army was forced to withdraw from the province of Saint Ambrose and it became impossible to defend the provinces of New Scipio and New Valentinian, forcing the war to reach the region of Canada where the province of New Gaul was located.
Augustus was approaching the provincial capital with an army of about 45,000 soldiers until some scouts spotted small groups of soldiers with different flags than the Romans and the natives often use it for battles.
One of the scouts walked up to Augustus, bowed, and said:
"My emperor, there are people who are not native and neither are we Romans. The soldiers appear to be approximately 1.85 m tall. They spoke a strange language and they carry a banner with gold and red colors, it seems to me they were sent to defend the capital at all costs." says a scout.
Augustus, he tries to remember some barbarian kingdom that used this standard and remembers his teacher who was a Romano-Briton and he had spoken of the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms, their habits, customs and religion, so he said:
"They are probably from the Kingdom of Northumbria, my teacher told me,their capital is the ancient city of Eboracum, now modern Eoforwic. The kingdom of Northumbria is one of the most powerful of the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms, its soldiers are by far the most warlike of the Anglo-Saxons, so we will have to show them who they are dealing with." says Augustus.
One of the military leaders who was accompanying the emperor came close to him and asked:
"My Emperor, should we fear the Anglo-Saxons of Northumbria?" asked one of the military leaders.
Augustus, realizing that he may have increased too much on the Northumbrians and so he responds:
" Dear Legatus Legionis Titus Lucius, leader of the 20th Roman legion, the Northumbrians can only guarantee themselves with people of low fighting capacity, I doubt that if we sent all the Roman legions to Britain if the fearsome Northumbrians would not beg on their knees for mercy. Also, I have an invention that I made together with some military engineers that will revolutionize close-range battles, but it's not time to show it yet and when the time comes they will call me the Prometheus of the 7th century, but until the battle begins wait to see my invention in action, in the meantime stay calm we are not facing Attila the Hun in the Catalaunian Fields or face Queen Boudica in the battle of Verolamium, then send your men to set up tents because today we will not fight, it is Sunday a holy day, but tomorrow we will end this." replies Augustus.
With this answer, the Legatus Legionis was satisfied and walked away from the Caesarian emperor, the other Legatus Legionis trusted the emperor so they ordered the soldiers to set up the military tents, while the 15 Destructors were being taken on the carts to assist in the battle that would occur tomorrow and three carriages also came that went towards the imperial tent.
New Lutetia
Now
The small city with its wooden walls, on March 1, 620, Antonius Severus with his army of about 70 thousand soldiers, part of this army being made up of Visigoths, Persians, Anglo-Saxons, Lombards, Franks and even the Picts were fighting against Augustus.
Antonius did not make any speeches because most of them did not speak Latin, so he ordered his soldiers to take their positions and wait for some time until they were ready for battle.
As Antonius' soldiers took up positions, Augustus mounted his cataphract horse and decided to address his more than 45,000 soldiers:
"Soldiers!!!! It is with great honor that I say that we have already won!!!! See those soldiers, do you think they are loyal to Antonius Severus? They fight for money, we fight to revive the Roman soul in the New World, that is my goal, to take Roman civilization to the ends of this continent! As long as there is a usurper who has tried to assassinate Emperor Paulus I, to try to take the Caesarian throne by force, an upright and just warrior will rise up!One day, we will make New Rome the capital of the world as it was with Rome in its Classical Era, Roman brothers, whether you are Hispano-Romans, Roman-Britons, Eastern Romans and Romans coming from Italy,Today we will be a single ethnic group, we are descendants of the Western Romans who fled the Anglo-Saxon, Ostrogoth, Visigoth and Frankish chaos. But today, Roman brothers, I assure you that new Lutetia will fall into our hands by nightfall and the usurper of Antonius Severus and his lineage will be ostracized in any case, but we must always understand why political figures who had a good relationship with the Senate always they got away with having an inert people and decided that a usurping senator could become an emperor through intrigue and assassination, you would side with an enemy who showed his true face, this invader who exploits us Romans as if we were a bunch of suckers who would lower their heads and follow a usurper because of his army! These damned ones will have their punishment and this battle will show what a Roman is made of and his glorious spirit! Soldiers, the glory of fighting for a civilization that practically created the European continent and now we will conquer this New World, don't you think that's great? History will mark us as the forerunners of a Caesarean Golden Age, but for that to happen a usurper must die! Paraphrasing the ancient Romans I say:Nova Lutetia Delenda Est!!!!" Augustus says.
The soldiers' spirits are lifted by this speech and, in the meantime, the three carriages approach and Augustus rides on his horse to where the leaders of the 20th legion, 5th legion and 15th legion, having as Legatus Legionis Titus Lucius, Constantine Theodore and Lucius Belisarius, grandson of the legendary general Flavius Belisarius who moved to the Caesarian Empire.
Augustus approached them on his horse and told them how the battle would be:
"Legatus Legionis Titus, your grenadiers will have a new weapon to use in addition to the sword or the tar grenade, your flank will be the right.Legatus Legionis Constantine, you will be in charge of the left flank and will have the support of the crossbowmen and archers at your disposal.Legatus Legionis Lucius, you will lead the central flank with me and you will have at your disposal the light cavalry that will use the new weapon instead of the spears, the heavy cavalry will be led by me.The key to winning the battle will be to cause maximum damage to the enemy, if the leader dies the morale of that army will collapse like a sand castle,Our new weapons will be humanity's greatest invention since the discovery of fire." says Augustus.
After an hour, Antonius' army was ready for battle, while Augustus' army was also ready for battle and for the first time in history a firearm would be used in a battle and the world's first pistol.
The world's first pistol was the Fulminatrix, created in the year 618 by Augustus as a way to make the Destructor a portable weapon, but realized that it was too expensive to do such a thing and remade his weapon focusing on the possibility of making it on a large scale, then he created proto-pistols for a few months and with the errors of these pistols, he arrived in the year 619 and with some tweaks, the Fulminatrix was created.
The battle of New Lutetia had begun and the Destructors made the ground tremble in the face of the colossal force that caused entire formations to be disorganized and clearly Antonius' army was not a army that was maintained not out of loyalty but because of money and that was the key point of Augustus' objective: Kill Antonius.
Augustus raised his pistol and ordered the military leaders:
"Order the Destructors' attack to cease, the heavy cavalry will attack the central flank and the light cavalry will attack the central flank with full force, the soldiers must attack with full force, these are my orders." orders Augustus.
The Destructors ceased and a large cloud of smoke hung over the battlefield, until Augustus' army moved in to end the battle.
Augustus approached the light cavalry and said:
"The Fulminatrix is a weapon made to be practical, its distance is about 75 meters, being greater than a shot from a bow which is at most 50 meters, this is a revolutionary weapon that will change the direction of the world. The Fulminatrix is a weapon that uses the percussion system, that is, if you shoot instead of being like the bow that you have to have years of rigorous training, the Fulminatrix is just shooting at the enemy that another projectile will be placed and the previous one will be in the cooling process, remember not to fire all five shots at once and this will be our key point for victory." says Augustus.
The light cavalry understood what their emperor meant and followed him to the battlefield.
A massacre occurred in the battle, even having a stronger army, Antonius' army had its morale knocked down like a sand castle, the Fulminatrix's shots generated a psychological effect devastating in the battle, more than 15 thousand soldiers fled the battlefield, reducing the army that was about 50 thousand soldiers to 35 thousand soldiers.
Thousands of soldiers died and the battlefield was soaked in blood and at that moment Antonius' soldiers who were inside the city closed the city gates, leaving thousands of soldiers outside the city.
Augustus saw from a distance, Antonius with his bodyguards trying to flee the battlefield, with that he orders the light cavalry:
"Let's win this battle now!!! Shoot Antonius!!!!" orders Augustus.
A hail of bullets hit Antonius and his bodyguards, so they hoped it was the end of the battle but it was not the end yet.
Augustus saw that this large number of mercenaries in the New World could be a problem for the Caesarian Empire, so he ordered one of his bodyguards:
"We must eliminate all barbarians, that is my final order." Augustus ordered.
After this order, Augustus withdrew from the battle along with the light cavalry and heavy cavalry, while the battle raged on, lasting until nightfall and finally the War of the Bards ended.
