Chapter 1 - Chapter 0 - The Lost Soul

Rai had always been a gamer.

Not the kind of player who spent a few hours here and there on his console. No, Rai was one of those who lived and breathed games. He didn't care about rankings—there weren't any when he started—but the community knew him all the same. His name popped up in forums and discussions about strategy, leadership, and those rare players who could unite a team and lead them to victory. Games were where he felt at home, where his skills mattered. He could adapt to anything. No matter the game—be it a complex strategy, an RPG, or a team-based shooter—Rai could always find a way to lead. His reputation wasn't built on high scores or flashy moves. It was built on his ability to make the right decisions, his knack for seeing things others missed, and his calm leadership when everything was falling apart.

But off-screen? Rai was just like anyone else. He had finished school, gone to college, got married, and settled into a quiet life. He didn't chase fame, didn't seek anything beyond a simple, peaceful existence. He loved his wife, played his games, and enjoyed the occasional quiet afternoon. He didn't expect much, and in return, life gave him everything he wanted.

Then, one day, it all came to an end.

It wasn't a dramatic, tragic death. No accident, no life-ending disease. Just a peaceful, unnoticed passing. Like a candle burning out in the quietest of ways. No one knew when it happened, but Rai was gone, his life slipping away without anyone realizing it—least of all, him.

What happened next was something Rai never imagined.

His soul didn't immediately journey toward heaven or hell like he'd always been told would happen. Instead, it was lost, wandering through a void, untethered and without direction. There were no guides, no gentle hands leading him to his next place. Just an endless, empty stretch where time seemed to lose meaning. He floated, drifting, disconnected from everything.

This wasn't how it was supposed to be, but Rai didn't have a choice.

For what felt like an eternity, he existed in this strange limbo, unsure of his fate. It was a disorienting, unsettling feeling—like being stuck in a dream where nothing made sense, and no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't wake up.

But then… someone noticed.

Far beyond the realm of the gods, in places untouched by Earth's mythology, beings who didn't follow the familiar rules of existence watched Rai's lost soul. They weren't the gods of light or darkness. They weren't even bound by the traditional boundaries of life and death. They were something else entirely—entities of pure curiosity, detached from morality.

Their interest in Rai wasn't because of who he had been in his past life, but because he was different. A soul lost and untethered. A puzzle they couldn't solve.

One of them wondered aloud, "What if we gave him a second chance? What would happen if we brought him into a new world, one with laws and powers unlike anything he's ever encountered?"

They weren't sure what to expect, but their amusement was palpable. To them, this was an experiment, a chance to watch an unknown variable play out. They didn't care about Rai's past life or what he had done—it was irrelevant now. What mattered was what would happen when a soul from Earth was placed into a world where everything was uncertain, where power wasn't something given, but something fought for and earned.

Without warning, Rai's lost soul was pulled from the void. His existence, fractured and disoriented, was swept into a new world—a world where the rules of his previous life meant nothing.

Chapter 1 - The Awakening

Rai's eyes snapped open, and the world came crashing into him all at once.

For a moment, he couldn't breathe. He didn't know where he was, what was happening, or even who he was. His body felt strange, unfamiliar. He tried to move, but his muscles were stiff, like they didn't quite belong to him.

He was lying on the ground, the earth cool and smooth beneath his palms. The sky above was… wrong. It wasn't blue. It was a deep, pulsing shade of purple, like the air itself was alive. Strange, iridescent clouds drifted by, shifting as if they had a mind of their own.

Rai scrambled to his feet, his breath coming in ragged gasps as his mind tried to catch up with his body. He scanned his surroundings. This… this wasn't Earth. He didn't know what it was, but it felt foreign. The land stretched out in all directions—vast and wild, dotted with glowing plants and creatures unlike anything he had ever seen. There was a strange energy here, like magic was just as real as the air he breathed.

But most striking of all was the weight in his chest. It was as if something inside him had shifted. He felt different, but he couldn't quite place how.

He tried to call out. His voice felt foreign too—too loud, too hollow, as though he didn't quite own it.

That's when he realized something else. His name. It wasn't Rai anymore. The name that had been his for as long as he could remember didn't fit. It was like it had been discarded, replaced by something else.

Solstice. The name echoed through his mind, a feeling more than a thought. It was his now. A new identity. A new reality.

But who was he really? What had happened to him? Why was he here?

The world around him didn't answer. It didn't care. It was ancient and wild, and it was waiting. For him? For anyone?

He didn't know, but one thing was clear. This wasn't a game anymore.
