We are not monsters.
As people with borderline personality disorder,
we feel everything—
emotions ten times stronger
than most can imagine.
Yes, we may lash out,
try to push you away,
but only because this disorder pulls the strings.
We don't choose it.
Sometimes, it chooses for us.
There is no cure,
only therapy,
only fighting to create
a life that feels
just a little more normal.
You may see us as horrible,
but we're not.
This disorder isn't born from nowhere—
it's the scar of a hurt so deep,
it broke us.
Shattered us.
If you take the time
to understand this illness,
to see how it infiltrates our minds,
you'll find the light.
You'll begin to understand.
So please—don't judge.
Don't be afraid.
Because we are afraid too.
Constantly.
Afraid of what might happen,
of what we're feeling in the moment,
and of losing control.
But let me tell you:
we are amazing people.
Loyal.
Empathetic.
Loving.
We will give everything
for the ones we love.
This disorder is hard,
one of the hardest to endure,
but it doesn't make us unlovable.
It doesn't make us monsters.
It makes us human.
It means we need your patience,
your understanding,
your help—
even when we can't ask for it.
One day,
we'll find the light
at the end of the tunnel.
And if it's the hand of the reaper,
then at least we'll leave
this treacherous world behind.
But for now,
we keep going.
We endure.
