"H-How is this possible..?! What happened?!"
Said Leo, as he kept seated in his bed, the blanket over his little legs. He quickly pinched his cheek again, and let out a yelp of pain.
"Ow!- it is real...? Di-Did god finally listen to my prayers?!!"
Leo couldn't put his hand on what happened, he just thought he was dreaming. As he slowly started unbuttoning his pyjamas shirt, and when he did so, he couldn't see it.
"So...I went back in time....Before 'that' incident happened..."
Leo buttoned up his shirt, and crawled out of his bed. Standing now, he started walking to the big mirror in the corner. Letting out some pained winces and laboured breaths, he spoke in a tired voice to himself.
"I need to see..."
Leo stood Infront of a mirror, as he could obviously see his reflection through it, his red eyes, his short black hair, his pale skin, his short and small frame, his flushed cheeks from the fever, his sweaty pyjama and forehead. He couldn't believe what he was seeing.
"I really went back in time...To being a five year old...?"
Leo mumbled to himself, his expression flabbergasted as he stared back at himself in the mirror. Leo looked around the room, it was all the same. The big sized bed in the middle with grey blankets and pillows. The old grey closet in the corner. The desk made of wood Infront of the bed. The mirror in the corner. The grey carpet next to the bed.
"Still the same hmm...?"
He mumbled tp himself, as he started walking towards the bed again. Suddenly, his vision got blurry.
"Right...I'm supposed to have a fever..."
Leo remembered that he got a fever, and just before he could reach his bed, he passed out, his whole body going limp as he fell to the ground, his eyelid felt so heavy as he shut his eyes.
Leo opened his eyes, surely but slowly, he could see that he is still in his room, laying in the bed, the blanket up to his chin. He felt the wet cloth on his forehead. As he looked around the road, he caught a glimpse of two people, even though his vision is blurry, he could make out of it that they are maids.
On of the maid spoke in a shushed tone, talking to her friend.
"This is ridiculous! Why do we have to look after him?"
The other maid spoke, trying to calm her down.
"Now now calm down, it's not worth it for them to hear us." She spoke in an annoyed voice also. "But even though, your utterly right! The emperor won't even look at him, and we're wasting our time here!"
The other maid nodded in agreement, as they both stood in front of the door, not knowing that Leo could hear them.
Leo just laid in his bed, his body too weak for all of this.
'Ahh...! I remember them know...! Their the ones who tried killing me...!'
Leo thought to himself, the memories of that time he was about to get killed flooding onto his mind. The memories of one of the maids having a dagger and wanting to stab him in the abdomen, 'that' incident. The memory of the scar that appeared on his lower abdomen from that day.
'Hehehehe...! But since I'm back they cannot do it this time...!'
Leo couldn't stop the devious smirk that formed on his lips throughout the pain for the thought. Leo clutched the fabric of the thin blanket as he laid down, the pain from the fever worsening by each second.
'This time...I've got a second chance...A new beginning...And I wouldn't waste it...!'
Leo let himself drift off to a peaceful slumber, his mind occupied by his future and the upcoming adventures he'll face.
