After Aris said those mean things to me in the kitchen, I went back to my room. I felt so hurt and angry. I couldn't stop thinking about what she said. I had to talk to her again.
I found Aris in the living room. "We need to talk," I said. My voice was shaking.
Aris just smirked at me. "What about?"
"How could you do this? How long has it really been going on?" I asked.
Aris laughed. It was a mean laugh. "Oh, silly Lucy. Alfred and I have been together for a long time. Even before you came along. You were just there to fool everyone."
I couldn't control myself anymore. I held her hand and dragged her close to me. How could you do this to your own sister? Aren't you Ashamed? Before I could finish talking she pounds on me, We started fighting, hitting each other and yelling.
Then Aris pushed me down. She started stomping on my stomach. "You don't deserve this baby! You don't deserve Alfred!" she screamed.
I tried to protect my baby. "Stop! Please stop!" I cried. My stomach, my baby!!
Suddenly, Aris stopped. She looked like she had an idea. She grabbed a letter opener and started cutting herself.
"What are you doing?" I asked weakly. I was scared.
"Teaching you a lesson," Aris said.
Just then, Cherish came in. "What's going on here?" she yelled.
Before I knew what was going on, I started feeling extreme pain in my stomach . Cherish walked past me and rushed to Aris asking her what has happened.
Suddenly I felt a sharp pain again, I rolled on the ground, clenching my stomach tightly as I felt something trickle out of my tummy. The pain I felt was compared to nothing and I groaned loudly, unable to hold back the pain.
I placed my hand on my stomach as I rolled weakly, feeling something leaving my body which was trembling slightly.
"Luna is bleeding, somebody yelled and rushed to help me out. She picked me up and took me to the car with the help of someone who I couldn't see the face .
As they carried me to the car, I felt so weak. The pain in my stomach was terrible. I was scared for my baby.
"Please, help my baby," I whispered. I wasn't sure if anyone heard me.
They put me in the backseat of the car. Someone was holding me, but I couldn't see who it was. Everything was blurry.
"Drive faster!" I heard someone shout. The car was moving so fast, it made me feel sick.
When I woke up, I was in a hospital bed. The room was quiet except for the beeping of machines. My whole body felt sore, but the pain in my stomach was gone. That scared me.
I tried to sit up, but a hand gently pushed me back down. It was Alfred. He looked tired and worried.
"Easy, Lucy," he said softly. "You need to rest."
"The baby," I whispered, my throat dry. "Is our baby okay?"
Alfred's face changed. He looked sad and uncomfortable. My heart started racing.
"I'm so sorry, Lucy," he said, his voice breaking. "We... we lost the baby."
Those words hit me like a punch to the gut. I felt like I couldn't breathe. Tears started falling down my face.
"No," I cried. "No, no, no."
Alfred tried to hold my hand, but I pulled away. I didn't want him to touch me. This was all his fault. His and Aris's.
"What happened?" I asked between sobs. "Where's Aris?"
Alfred looked away. "Aris is fine. Her cuts weren't deep. She's already back at the pack house."
I felt anger rising inside me. "And what about me? What about our baby?"
"Lucy, I-" Alfred started, but I cut him off.
"Get out," I said. "I don't want to see you."
Alfred looked hurt, but he nodded and stood up. "I'll be right outside if you need anything," he said before leaving the room.
As soon as the door closed, I broke down completely. I cried for my baby, for myself, for the life I thought I would have. Everything was ruined now, and I didn't know how I would ever recover.
I spent the next few days in the hospital. The doctors said I needed to rest and recover. But how could I? My baby was gone. I felt empty inside.
Nurses came and went, checking on me. They tried to be kind, but I didn't want to talk to anyone. I just stared out the window, feeling numb.
Alfred tried to visit every day. I always told him to leave. I couldn't look at him without thinking about what happened, about Aris and their betrayal.
On the third day, Dr. Simmons came to see me. He was the one who first told me I was pregnant.
"How are you feeling, Lucy?" he asked gently.
I just shrugged. What could I say?
Dr. Simmons sat down next to my bed. "I know this is hard," he said. "But I need to talk to you about what happened."
I finally looked at him. "What do you mean?"
He took a deep breath. "Lucy, the miscarriage... it wasn't natural. There are signs of physical trauma. Can you tell me what happened before you came to the hospital?"
Suddenly, I remembered Aris stomping on my stomach. My hands clenched into fists.
"It was Aris," I said, my voice shaking with anger. "She pushed me down and stomped on my stomach. She... she killed my baby."
Dr. Simmons looked shocked. "Lucy, that's a very serious accusation. Are you sure?"
I nodded, tears filling my eyes again. "I'm sure. She did it on purpose. She wanted me to lose the baby."
Dr. Simmons stood up. "I need to report this. This is a criminal act."
As he walked towards the door, I called out, "Wait! What will happen now?"
He turned back to me. "That depends on you, Lucy. Are you willing to formally accuse Aris of causing your miscarriage?"
I hesitated. I knew this would cause a huge problem in the pack. But I thought about my baby, the life I lost because of Aris's cruelty.
"Yes," I said firmly. "I want to report what she did. She needs to pay for this."
Dr. Simmons nodded. "I'll contact the authorities. Try to rest, Lucy. Things might get complicated from here on out."
