Chapter 1 - The Runaway

"Pleaaase, pleaaaase let me come alonngg" Begged the little boy clinging to my leg

"Haaaa..."

'How did I even get here' I sighed

I was preparing for my runaway from this cursed household finally

And just as I was about to use my gravity to teleport, This little demon caught me.

"I told you I'll come from time to time to play with you, It's really dangerous for little kids as monsters there love tender meat" I tried to persuade him

"I told you I'm not little anymore!!" He stomped his short legs

He stayed quiet for a few seconds, backed away and then crossed his arms

"If you don't take me with you, I'll jump from your wing's terrace, hmph." He then turned his head as if he wouldn't tolerate any further discussion

"If you come with me, you'll never get to see Mom and Dad again"

He frowned and said "Who cares, You know I only love you in this family"

He left me speechless with that

I contemplated for a while and sighed again

"Fine, you'll come" I gave up

He smiled triumphantly but I couldn't feel the same.

I felt a big burden suddenly on my shoulders

-

I was reincarnated into this world 16 years ago

My previous life was a bit complicated but let's not get into that

This life wasn't so great either

Born into a rich noble family I thought I would live a relaxing and lovely life

However everyone treated me like crap, I didn't care much since I was way past the age of looking for familial love or attention but my last string was them having an open meeting about how they will wed me as soon as I have my debutante ball next month

To a newly divorced duke at that and without even glancing at me let alone asking for my opinion

I always loved adventures and I read a lot about the mysterious northern land, I didn't do it earlier because I had a sense of debt towards this family since they fed me and I was too young to travel anyway

Although the older brother bothered me a lot and The Marquisette in other words, My Mother Dorothy Theodoria acted like I existed for the sole reason of entertaining my older brother, I still couldn't make their reputation drag through the floors

Now sorry but that sense of debt doesn't mean I'll marry an old baldy, I'm out! I said to myself

And just as I fastened my sword and daggers and held my baggage

I sensed the younger brother walking through the hallway coming straight to my room holding his wooden training sword, I could've easily avoided him but I essentially was the one who raised him

I loved him and made sure he wouldn't be emotionally neglected and abhorred like I was

Hence I gave him life advice often, made sure he took care of his body and health and helped with his studies

Subsequently, I thought a quick farewell would be fine

Although his size is of an 8 years old kid, he is 11 already and he's very smart and mature so he'll understand

...or so I thought

I've never seen him throw a tantrum like that!

So I agreed he'll come along....

I detest responsibility with all my being but since I don't have a choice....

"Close your eyes and don't talk" I told him after I prepared his clothes as well

I shrank our traveling baggage and lightened their weight ito make my job easier ignoring the sparkling eyes looking curiously

"Close them" I repeated cynically

He pouted and closed them

I closed my eyes as well and started meditating.

Consciously alerting my senses of the particles around Rin's body and mine

I began controlling it little by little and the speck that should be impossible to see by the naked eye started bubbling and inflating until it reached a size that could be seen

I lifted my arm next to the biggest hollow sphere that I purposefully made and snapped my finger

*Snap*

While picturing where I want to go

*Bloop*

It popped like a soap bubble and the whole room brightened

__Blink__

And both of us are gone

I opened my eyes again as I felt a ringing headache rush over me.

I gritted my teeth and held my groan since I was next to Rin

"Woaaah That's so cool" A sound of admiration came from him

No one in my family knew how strong I was but Rin

And even he doesn't know the extent of it

He only knows that I can control gravity like my own breath

I always warned him to only show a quarter of his true potential, because I knew they would eat him alive if he was naïve and talented

I wasn't young nor naïve but I just knew how troublesome it would be if I showed them my powers

They would've donated me to the emperor to help invade some kingdom or something

And I was right.

How readily they sold me as soon as the duke divorced his wife and ran to benefit from using me as much as possible

I was planning to disappear as long as they were planning to wed me anyway, It just developed faster than expected

My choices were either the narcissist crown prince or his insecure younger sibling

The Duke was just a little unexpected

I don't know what they were planning to go to the extent of choosing that old fart over the crown prince

And I'm not interested frankly

But I can't face them directly and refuse

This power isn't infinite, at least not yet.

I can't face them all

I can do everything I wish within the limits of gravity but I have a certain mental capacity during a day that I shouldn't surpass

Surpassing it can give me very painful headaches, nose, ear, eye bleeds, and fainting and if the risk is on my life I might cough up blood as well

So it's not as lovely as it seems and although it's useful, it's also limited

And Teleporting two people to a fairly distant place is the most straining so far, well there is something harder but I don't think I'll need it for now

Rin sensed something wrong and panicked

"Sister what's wrong..?" he held my trouser

"Ugh...nothing" I held my temples and looked around

It was dawn so no one would've probably noticed but better cautious than sorry

I held Rin's hand as he was fidgeting nervously and we walked about five minutes to the carriage that was close by

This carriage is the one I often sneak with

"Old man, you saw my letter" I smiled at the man grooming his horse

I sent him the letter at night and he was here as I expected

"Young lady; I told you not to send me letters at night, my wife thinks I'm having an affair at this age..." he reprimanded grumpily

"I am in a tight predicament currently, Sorry I had no other choice" I bitterly smiled

His eyes widened totally expecting me to rudely respond as usual

He awkwardly coughed

"Well, you helped me when I had a crisis myself so I shall take you to your desired destination" he spoke

"It will be a long journey, I am in your care" I said

I saved his horse one time as it was failing to breathe, I used my gravity to regulate the heart rate and open the airways until he got the help needed

I then followed him home, teleported inside his room and horrifyingly threatened him to never utter a word

And had him write a death contract

And so whenever I need him I just teleport a letter to his room, Of course I handsomely reward him afterward

His carriage now is very luxurious and comfortable due to my constant pestering

You can say I use him as a secret personal driver

He started riding immediately

I sat facing Rin.

"Aneirin" I called

He stiffened as I called his full name

"Are you sure you will not regret this?" I softly asked

"Of course not. Even if I get eaten by that monster who loves tender meat"

He answered relieved that I didn't scold him

I chuckled and said "I will not let that happen"

And let me say, I underestimated that unknown land
